I do not live in the area but I came across Juvenile Shop on FB Marketplace for an ad for the Baby Ark car seat. Brand new in box for less than retail. I haven't seen this deal anywhere so I knew I had to jump on the deal. We did the transaction over the phone. I didn't pick up the car seat right away as I live far. Prior to pick up, it would of been helpful if the lady would of gave me a heads up on the parking situation. The store is on busy Ventura Blvd, which is all metered parking - good luck basically if you come here on a weekend, which I did. The day I show up there's no spots near & I ended up parking in loading which made me so paranoid of getting a ticket. I ended up asking the employee if I can park in the back & she said I could go around. Good thing I did because this car seat was HEAVY & BARELY fit in the car. I also did look around the store to see what else they have for sale. This truly is an infant store. You won't find toddler clothing or toys. All the merchandise is specifically geared towards infancy, which is nice, especially for first time parents who need all the things. I was underwhelmed, & felt a bit frustrated wishing they had more for toddlers. All in all, this is a great shop if you're looking for strollers, car seats, or cribs !!! Don't come here for clothing - the selection is boring. I would recommend this store for first time parents not sure which baby item would fit because baby items are an investment & it's always nice to try before you buy ! read more

I've had nothing but negative interactions with the staff here. I came in with a stroller they don't carry and they made rude comments about it. They're almost hostile if you ask about anything other than the Nunas which they push aggressively. I live in the area so I pop in sometimes and I always regret it. Probably a good place to go if you want a Nuna but if you can't spend over $1000 on a stroller they basically think you're trash. read more

After experiencing the frustration of having nonexistent baby stores in the Conejo Valley area, we ventured out to Sherman Oaks after finding this gem on Google Maps. We were really struggling to find travel systems without being able to try them out with a knowledgeable sales person's help. The two ladies working on Sunday were so helpful (sorry I didn't catch their names!) and patient with answering all our questions and letting us demo multiple travel systems. The store carries higher end baby gear (Nuna, Uppababy, Babybjorn, etc.) and furniture, so be aware of that, but it's so nice to see these in person rather than online! We ended up buying a travel system that will hopefully work perfectly for us! read more

Super discouraging experience! I walked in when the store was completely empty looking to demo some Joie or Doona strollers. When I walked in, there was a woman at the counter and a woman in the back. No one greeted me, but no big deal. I figured I could find my way around. After sampling some I was finally approached, and was asked how far along I was. I told her I was only 6 weeks and was just looking for information on some strollers. She said I was "too early" and she "only helped people when they are further along." She looked me up and down, and left it at that. Definitely got the vibe that I wasn't "the type" of customer they were looking for. Just overall very discouraging. I will absolutely NOT be buying my stroller from here. Great local baby store! We brought our stroller/car seat here (they price-matched competitors), travel stroller, and tried out rockers before the baby was born. Now we come for the baby gifts, swaddle help (we really liked the Butterfly swaddle), onesies, and just about anything we want to buy same day. My husband and I found this store while walking on Ventura. We visited multiple times before purchasing anything to demo, ask questions, etc. Each time we went, the shop attendants have been SO patient, warm, and helpful. We have since made two purchases here and are so happy with our experience. We ordered a stroller from Bloomingdale's that was out of stock and expected to ship past our due date. The wonderful ladies at the juvenile shop literally saved the day and helped us order the same Nuna stroller that will now arrive a month before Bloomingdale's. Then I saw that same lady screaming in the store and I couldn't believe her demeanor. It was like a wicked witch would act or I guess like a Karen. The Juvenile Shop has been a staple in the Valley for 30+ years. My Mom bought baby gear for ME here! It's a very well laid out shop, very clean and organized. While they don't have a HUGE inventory of everything, what they do have is very top quality, hence the hefty price tag. I would recommend shopping here for a baby gift, because they do carry very nice quality and unique items. I fell in love with a little onesie covered in muscle cars and it was probably the softest thing I have every felt. I enjoyed looking through their selection of books. I would say the Juvenile Shop is not entirely budget friendly, so it may not be for everyone. But if you are looking for nothing but top of the line, Juvenile is where it's at. I like to shop local and always try to support small businesses. However the Juvenile Shop is YIKES. Went here on a weekday to look at strollers. Both salespeople were occupied with other customers. That's fine, they're busy. I walked around the store for 10 mins looking at things and they never even acknowledged me. No "hello," "welcome," or "we will be with you in a few minutes." I left, thinking I'd come back another day. Went in a week later with my husband to check out strollers. Same. Thing. Salespeople occupied, no greeting and no acknowledgement of our presence. We took out some strollers to push around/fold ourselves, figuring they'd get to us when they were free. We had trouble folding a stroller up. A salesperson finally acknowledged us, only to say, "Man I hate to see people struggle!" Didnt offer to help, give a pointer or anything. It felt like she was making fun of us. So we left. Never again! Sadly the big box stores nearby were better! read more

You cannot beat the service in depth professionalism and expertise of the staff who work in this shop. They are experts on strollers, car seats, furniture, cribs, diaper disposal - you name it. Marie is exemplary! She demonstrated how to connect and use the Nuna Pipa car seat and stroller and helped load it into our car so it might fit perfectly. We're so happy with the crib and dresser assembly men who came to our place and joyfully made our newborn's room complete with the finest furniture - just $120 for assembly. Be advised you need to order all items and it takes 10-12 weeks. read more

Apparently I caught them on a bad day. I needed help reinstalling the infant insets on a car seat we bought there -- they told me to return the next day and pay $25 or find it on you tube. We paid a premium to buy local instead of on line assuming it came with customer service disappointing. read more

This store is amazing. I wish I would have known about it sooner. Literally spent over an hour just looking at all the neat stuff. And trust me when I say they have the most stuff, from cribs to dressers, to strollers , teepees, clothes ... everything your baby toddler could need. I was in search of a dresser/changing table and I needed one asap, but it couldn't be any ol dresser. It needed to be modern and if you know anything about modern furniture you'll know that it takes months to get it delivered. After looking in their website I noticed they had this beautiful dresser/changing table. It said it was going to take 12 weeks for delivery so I took a chance and called to see if They had one in stock. THEY DID. I went and bought it immediately. Lisa was so helpful and even got it deliver for me with no cost (I live down the street) this store is a lifesaver and I'll be back for all my children's furniture needs. (Ok, so I know my way around a baby store, but in this economy I expect a little lube with the butt ramming prices you have to pay for stuff.) I walked in and made two rounds of the store before ever being acknowledged. Then when I asked for something specific, I was pointed in the general direction with a "we might be out of them." Yeah, great service. I'd almost rather take my business to the dreaded Babies R Us. That said, they have a good selection of stuff, some of it nice and out of the ordinary like My Blankees, but you can buy Born Free bottles at Target now so I think the Juvenile Shop needs to step it up a notch. read more

My husband & I discovered this store around 2 years ago when looking to start our baby shower registry. We LOVE this store! It's a family run business with an extremely knowledgeable staff who are more interested in selling you the right products for what you need versus the most expensive product to increase their sales. It's not a huge store but still has a decent mix of top name brands of nursery furniture, strollers, baby clothing, feeding items, etc. In the last 2 years, we have purchased our Nuna baby seat, stroller & toddler car seat. In addition to always finding an interesting book or toy, we have also purchased a Dutalier glider & ottoman, a Monte recliner & most recently we just purchased the amazing Veer Cruiser. In short, they offer wonderful quality brands but their customer service is even better! Marie & Lisa have always been very patient and knowledgeable with us, they honestly work very hard to make us happy whenever we've run into any issues. read more

Every person who works here acts like you are bothering them when you ask for help. They seem completely over it and annoyed and it's a shame they treat people like that. Some of us are parents for the first time and have a lot of questions and genuinely need help. I don't know if they're used to snobby clientele or what and at first I thought it was a one time thing but after coming here several times I noticed everyone acts like this all the time. By far the best baby store I have been to. This store has been here for nearly 40 years for a reason. My parents came here for me when I was younger and now I am shopping here for my baby girl! Everything in this store is perfectly curated. The store is packed with merchandise but is well organized and displayed with a cohesive flow. They have EVERYTHING you need from cribs to bibs to strollers to teepees to princess crowns to snot suckers to the cutest racks of clothing and more. I wish I would have done my registry exclusive to them! Lisa is AMAZING and anyone having a baby needs to come here! I could go on and on about her and Deb! I did something really weird on Friday night. And I'm sure you're thinking the worst (which is usually the best) and I can't say I blame you, but no no no, this past Friday was weird because I, stephy s, hung out with...................... A CHILD **duh duh duuuuuuuh** Yep, I drew pictures of elephants, penguins and spaceship dinosaurs with a little guy who sat on my lap and giggled the hours away. I cleaned up a huge glass of water that this little guy knocked over and it didn't bother me at all. I actually had fun spending time with a child and let me assure you, this is definitely very very weird to me. And so it got me thinking. Do I actually like children? I mean for more than just walking the bottle of wine over to you as you sit with your girlfriends? Would I want one of these little things some day? All these ideas and thoughts were racing through my mind this weekend and I have to say, it was a little odd. So today as I was on my way to lunch, I passed this Juvenile Shop and decided to pop in and put this new found curiosity to the test. Upon walking in I saw tons of cribs, super cute baby clothes, adorable toys, quirky stuffed animals and just about everything and anything you would need to keep your little one stylish and happy. I was feeling really excited and happy and then the loudest shriek I've heard in years practically burst my eardrum. They have a large selection of strollers that you can test drive to see what best fits your style. I personally feel in love withj the Uppa Baby Cruz. It is just right for mommy AND daddy with that adjustable handle! It's a cute place to find rarely seen stuff other than babies r us or target. They also carry organic products.
