So I went and got my hair done a few weeks ago. This person not only over processed my hair leaving chunks of hair falling out when I got home and washed it (bleach was left in for over 3 hours) the toner he used on my hair left my hair a greyish green, he took sooooooo long to foil my hair he ran out of time to even finish my hair. I had already paid for my highlights and cut so I had to go back the next day to get my hair finished. I was late the next day so he rescheduled me for the next week. The morning of my appointment he asked how my hair color was and I said fine because at that point I did not trust him to do anything else with my hair and was only going to get the hair cut I already paid for. He asked if I still wanted products from him and I said no I can't afford it. He then canceled my appointment I already paid for mind you and told me how dare I waste his time and he was only letting me being late the week before go because I was buying product from him. I posted an honest blunt review on Google and he started by screaming at me on voicemail and sending me rude text messages threatening me if I didn't take the reviews down. Now here we are 2 weeks later and he is still texting me and threatening me and my husband . read more

I LOVE going to Jay to take care of my hair. He makes every visit fun and just actually enjoyable. I've definitely been places where the stylist only said maybe 2 sentences to me the entire time I was there. With Jay I know that I'll leave loving the way my hair looks and feels. He cares about how I feel about my hair and the integrity of my hair. He's super honest and will not do anything that would jeopardize the health of your hair. He had also been EXTREMELY helpful with my personal hair mistakes. He had my hair looking gorgeous with a blonde balayage and I got bored and dyed it black with box dye. He spent hours fixing my hair getting it as nice as he could without ruining my hair. I went in hoping to get a light brown color and he explained that it just wouldn't be possible in one appointment if I didn't want my super healthy hair to feel fried. He did everything possible to get it to this gorgeous color that I added a photo of. I get married at the end of this year so I know I definitely won't be changing stylists any time soon ;) Overall I think Jay is amazing and I trust him to keep my hair healthy and beautiful. read more

Ok, first off, I am always a bit skeptical of going to a new salon because of some bad experiences, but I was pleasantly surprised by this one.. Jay (owner) did my hair. He did root touch up then partial highlights, ok, let me stop and elaborate a bit here..when I hear the term 'partial highlights' I am expecting anywhere from 8-10 foils, but I had a total of about 15+ when he finished. I asked if this was a partial and he said yes it was and that he does a lot more than most do. I was shocked at how many there were, the result was great!! He shampooed my hair in between both levels of coloring too.. Once color and highlights were done, l asked him to check my hair so far as being even from a previous haircut, it felt way off on the sides. He did and found that my hair was 2" longer on one side, so I had him do a corrective cut and now it's all shaped nicely and looks so much better! Overall, the salon was very nice and clean, and I felt I had been taken care of and pampered by the time I left... I would definitely recommend this place and I have already set up my next appointment! Nothing but good! read more

If I could give zero stars I would super unprofessional. Sending threats to clients. Found out today I'm not the only one he sent threats to. Thinking of going to the police with this other girl. I'm not the one who does wrong to their client. Doesn't fix the problem and then personally attacks someone. Go get some mental help you clearly need it. The things I found out about you after the incident are honestly disgusting. If I can help one person with my review I've done my job. Anyone can send me a message and I will happily share the texts you sent to me. And trust me I am glad I am not your client I was not mad that you canceled my appointment. You personally attacked me because I left you a google review. Harassed me for MONTHS over every google review you got. Clearly you pissed others off. Just a quick update regarding Jay Gamlin and JW lifestyling. We have had to file the small claim and Jay was now served and Jay continued to threaten and become extremely unprofessional. He stated multiple times how he seeks to 'punish me'. He also continues to lie his consumers without having any ounce of integrity. Your money is better spent elsewhere than the ugly of this business. Search on the BBB for the complaint filed or the Brevard county records. Do yourself a favor and research Broward County as well. Jay continues to threaten me. At this point we will be filing updated complaints with the Attorney General and Consumer Licensing board for the gross behavior and unprofessional conduct. This was the first time l've ever colored my hair, and I was pretty nervous about it, but I couldn't be happier with the outcome! I called Jay and asked for a last-minute walk-in, and I caught him as he was literally about to close up for the day, but despite being a first-time client, he stayed open late on a Saturday to give me a partial highlight. I described what I wanted to him before showing him pictures of it and he understood exactly what I wanted. He did the highlights baylage-style, and it came out beautiful. Jay couldn't be sweeter- greeted me with a hug and so nice to talk to. He was very up-front with pricing. And his salon is very cute. My hair isn't the easiest to deal with. It's super fine, thin, wavy, pulls red like crazy, and it hates humidity. I've had the hardest time finding someone who "gets" hair like mine. Jay truly does. He pays attention, listens, and really works to make it better each time. He's awesome at everything, but my favorite is how absolutely phenomenal he is at cutting my hair. He cuts like a true artist. I'm always amazed at how great it looks after he cuts and styles it. On top of everything, he's just fun to be around, and his salon is personal and so cute. Jay has been doing my hair for about 3 years now. He is always a pleasure to be around, the salon is beautiful and comfortable. I get a root retouch and haircut every 6 weeks and have had to reschedule due to life a few times, he's always more than accommodating. I am always more than happy with my hair and wish I could have him style it more often. His prices are not only fair but also he goes above and beyond with the finishing more than any other stylist I've ever had! Had my hair done here was charged over $200 for a color. My hair faded within 8 days. Went back for him to fix but was still charged for it, Set an appointment for a 2 weeks later but cancelled the day before and he wanted to charge me. I paid already for 2 colors and a cut already but it was only 2 weeks. I thought it was just for a recheck. But he wanted money, then went home n my WORK website and complained there. read more

Jay is always very professional and this woman trying to slander him and ruin his business and is completely in the wrong. If you don't show up for an appointment you lose your deposit. This is how it is at almost all salons and businesses that rely on appointments.
