I have been a loyal customer for three years without any issues and have always been satisfied with their service. Except for last year when they switched to new management. Last year I had them do over seeding and aeration. This is the same service they had provided to me the two previous years with one exception. This time when I received the bill it was $50.00 more then the previous year for the exact same service. This price increase was never brought up when I created the appointment and in fact when I asked the receptionist if the cost would be the same from the previous year, she stated YES. After leaving numerous messages and continuing to call for two weeks, I was finally able to resolve the issue after an hour long conversation with the office manager. No one from Alexandria Lawn Service ever returned my calls. Now, fast forward to this year. We receive a contract from Alexandria Lawn Service for lawn mowing. We did not sign the contract and called their company to cancel service. We thought this issue had been resolved by the conversation we had with the receptionist. We were wrong. Alexandria Lawn Service still came by and mowed my lawn twice. I called and spoke to the receptionist again stating that I wished to not continue service as I requested earlier on a previous call. This time she stated cancellation needed to be in writing and required 30 days notice. I asked why this was not brought up on my initial phone conversation when I called to cancel service. She did not have a response!!!! But wait, it gets better. The initial contract Alexandria Lawn Service sent for this year was for $30 a mow. This is the same contract I did not sign as I wished to cancel service. I then received a bill from Alexandria Lawn Service for the two mows at $40 a mow. Where the hell did $40 a mow come from??? I then pulled out the contract they sent me this year which was never signed and returned. If you read the fine print on the contract, it states if the service being provided changes or the price of the service changes then a new contract needs to be signed, otherwise you are automatically renewed against the contract from the previous year. Last time I checked $30 does not equal $40. Once again I have left numerous messages for Pam "office manager" with no returned calls. This is now the second time "new management" has switched prices without notification. Based on this improper billing practice and lack of communication I would HIGHLY recommend anyone looking for lawn service to take their business elsewhere.

My bf reached out to Gabriel after finding him on Craigslist. He was prompt and came out 15 minutes later on a Friday to deliver on a quote for the huge landscaping work we needed done. He spent about an hour with us in talking about the landscaping work to be done. He never tried to tack on extra work and was INCREDIBLY knowledgeable about the native trees & shrubs in our yard. His quote was very reasonable and he started work that Monday at 7 am. The job was re-grading, removing concrete and gravel, hauling dirt, replanting the empty space, etc. lots of work to do. His equipment was here bright and early as promised and he finished work the next day on Tuesday. Unbelievable how fast they were. His team was extremely professional and hardworking - everything was done to perfectionist standards. In his signature way it seems from other reviews, he went and beyond and placed extra dirt in our garden beds and seeded those areas too. Plus, when we inquired about extra dirt, he even came back that afternoon and spread out more in our veggie garden. We highly recommend Gabriel, highly highly. He's a prized landscaper in our area and does a huge range of work & does it well! We found out he's been a resident of northern VA for over 30 years. Though a precarious situation - two 100+ ft trees located a mere 7-8 feet from our front window - his team did an excellent job removing them. They climbed both trees and removed them limb by limb so that there was zero damage to our house. They then chopped up some of the trunk for us as firewood and cleared/hauled the limbs, all at a much more reasonable price than other landscaping companies.
