Apple strudel. Usually comes with ice cream, but asked to have it without. Very good!

Went for Valentine's Day dinner. It was delicious and our server, Magda was awesome! We had the ceasar salad, cheese spatzle & weiner schnitzel. Very good cider & weissbier too. The live music was great! Highly recommend for a fun date nite.

Price/quality (4/4): I got the Jagerschnitzel and it was great. It's hard to find a good schnitzel in Vancouver, especially since Bauhaus closed, but this one really hit the spot. In fact, it reminded me of the schnitzel that I had in Vienna all those years ago. The ambiance probably helped. Service (1/1): Service was friendly and effective. Would I come here again: Yes

I have to admit, I liked my schnitzel better at Jägerhof than in Vienna. This is definitely a restaurant my family loves coming to because of the cosy and unique environment that makes you feel like you could be in a restaurant in Germany, Switzerland, or Austria. The schnitzel always comes hot, juicy and crispy. If I can, I'll always try to get the Spatzle or the red cabbage. Lately when I've been going, I've been ordering the dolce brusco schnitzel, because I really like the berry sauce that it comes with that just compliments, the schnitzel really nicely. I also really like the one that comes with mushroom sauce, which I believe is the hunter schnitzel Don't bother showing up on a weekend thinking you can get in without a reservation. Make sure you call ahead of time to make a reservation and not during their dinner service as they don't answer the phone then. Service is always wonderful despite how packed it is and they have a great selection of European wines and beers. The desserts are also pretty great. The only dish that I could use a bit of improvement is the beef roulade. I haven't had it in a while but it was a bit more dry than I had expected it the time I tried it.

To have a special New Year's Eve dinner, we drove all the way out to the Jägerhof Restaurant in North Vancouver. The restaurant opened at 5 p.m. and by that time, where were already a throng of patrons waiting at the door, all whom had made reservations. As soon as I entered, I was enamored with this cute little German-style restaurant. It was almost like stepping back in time, compared with the temporary restaurants just next door. The boyfriend chose a specialized Smokey Beer that made me wish I had been smart enough to try that drink too. It was hard to describe, but tasted like Smoked Ham in a beer bottle (tastes better than it sounds). For the appetizer, we had the ALPINE CHARCUTERIE PLATE. A lovely shareable option for two people with bread, cheeses, two types of meats, a little bit of fruit, and butter and salt. For the entrée, the boyfriend chose the BEEF ROULADEN and I had the ZÜRICHER GESCHNETZELTES/CHICKEN ZURICHOISE. Neither was a dish we could pronounce, but our waiter had a good laugh with us and assured me that no-one could pronounce my chicken dish anyhow. It was an interesting choice of dishes, and I'm glad I didn't go a Schnitzel dish and tried something new. For dessert, we went with the house special: gingerbread cookies, eggnog ice-cream and hot chocolate sauce. I'm not a huge fan of eggnog, but I loved the gingerbread cookies (not too sweat) and warm chocolate sauce was a great accompaniment. One of the most memorable parts of the evening was the surprise: live music! We had two musicians arrive halfway through our meal and played Christmas and old timey songs. Having dined in many restaurants where patrons just eat and let the music play, it was heartwarming to see and hear the entire restaurant break out into applause after each song was finished.

Nice atmosphere but very busy so reservation is high recommended. Call for reservation. Super friendly and attentive staff. Love music on Friday and I believe Saturday evenings. Lots of choices for food, drinks, and desserts. Authentic food with good texture and taste. More restaurant style in terms of heavier and larger portion but I personally prefer more intimate and home style of Germany or European food where it's on the lighter side like The Tannenbaum in Westminster. Street parking around the area of this restaurant but can be very busy so do come 10-15 minutes earlier than your reservation. Lots of other restaurants and shops around and good area for a evening walk after.

We are not fan of the German food but It wasnt bad nor good... The music was great... The lady singer was phenomenal and two gentlemen were great...Our waiter was so friendly and overall the atmosphere... The food was super salty for us...

Small quaint restaurant in lower lonsdale. Food was great. I do recommend this authentic Bavarian style restaurant. When we went there on a Friday night they had live music too. The waitress we had was extremely friendly and nice. The only drawback was lack of ventilation and AC in this place especially if you decide to go on a hot summer day.

Jaeger schnitzel (mushroom sauce on the side), served with red cabbage and potatoes

I grew up in Germany as a kid, specifically in Bavaria. I've had a craving for good schnitzel and saw pictures on Yelp so we decided to come try this place and thankfully it did not disappoint. Delicious jagerschnitzel! The mushroom sauce is very creamy and reminds me of rahmschnitzel. I normally don't like red cabbage but this one was flavorful but not too bitter or vinegary. The fried potatoes were part crispy and soft, yum! We also had a Caesar salad and the croutons tasted homemade. My child devoured the bread, charcuterie board and a bratwurst. We also shared a slice of cheesecake. Wasn't fast enough to take pictures of anything except the schnitzel.

This lively little restaurant embraces all that is fun about a German restaurant and the food is AMAZING. An Antique piano & well seasoned piano player, along with the efficient and pleasant staff, make for a welcoming atmosphere filled with music, laughter and conversation. The schnitzel was incredible, cooked to perfection-tender and crispy. Spätzle was also done perfectly. Authentic German food with very generous portions! We had the pflaumenkuchen for desert that was also just as tasty as the main course! A plum base with mixed fruit on a lovely pastry, served with both whipped cream and ice cream. This is a great restaurant for a celebration with family/friends or if you are looking for a fun night out, I highly recommend. #Drdadson #Doctordadson #Drmikedadson #Langleycounselling #counsellor

The wooden furniture and decor gives that homey vibe. Unfortunately, with COVID, when we ate their recently, we were moved to their other room for dinner. Regardless, we still had a nice time. They have changed their hours to only open on weekends which might interrupt some of your plans. We came on a slow night so had great service! The Deutsches Haus has dark beers on tap like Erdinger Dunkel, and Krombacher Dark which feels hard to find in the city. In addition, they have so many other German beers on tap! For dinner the other night, we had the Jagerschnitzel, Schnitzel Vienne, and Schnitzel Munich - they also have a chicken schnitzel for those who don't eat pork. All of them are served with a variety of different sides so it really depends what you feel like - potatoes? Spaetzle (egg noodle)? Cranberry sauce? Rotkraut (red cabbage sauerkraut)? We enjoyed all of our meals with our fantastic beers and were completely stuffed by the end of it. Surprisingly, we still had room though for German Cheesecake, because.. well, come on. Who can resist? While the homey vibe of the real restaurant is gone, the food was still great and the services as well.

Our server suggested that, because it was happy hour, a pitcher would be cheaper and save us money. I specifically asked how many ounces the pitcher was and was told 32 oz, which sounded reasonable since we planned to get 15 oz beers. When the pitcher arrived, it was clearly 64 oz. The server apologized for the mistake, and I let it go, thinking we didn't have to drink it all. However, when the bill arrived, the price didn't match the quote. We were charged $25, not the $20 we were originally told when the 64-oz pitcher showed up, with the explanation that the regular price was $35 and that we had "saved" money. In the end, we were served twice the beer we wanted and paid twice what we intended, based on information that kept changing. Whether this was incompetence or intentional, it left me feeling frustrated and uncomfortable. The food and atmosphere really were great -- but the experience was overshadowed by feeling manipulated. Enjoy the food and beer, but pay close attention to what the wait staff tells you and what ends up on the bill.
