Flavourful ravioli of the day, and I really like how you can choose your own sauce. Portions were a little on the smaller side, but delicious. It would have been a nice touch for the bread to be more garlicky or something, but the texture wasn't bad! The serving plates are definitely a statement piece. I came here to try the brunch and was immediately impressed by the gorgeous layout of the restaurant. There are plenty of windows and dim lit interior which sets an intimate and enchanting mood. They also have a selection of desserts and baked goods by the entrance. The brioche breaky croissant was honestly the best stuffed croissant I've ever had. The cream sauce and combination of three cheeses baked was delicious. The French toast unfortunately fell a bit short of expectations. I was hoping for it to come more dressed with toppings, though it only was served with some fruits and jam. If you're someone that prefers more a plain and clean dish though this would be great. The pistachio latte was amazing, I like that all the pistachio frosting and chunks were on the rim so you could decide your sweetness for each sip. read more

The food takes a while to get to the table, but it is soo fresh and aromatic that it's worth the wait. The ciopinno was tantalizing. The bread was fluffy and seasoned. And the parpadella with seafood was a delight, very true to Italian and seaside form. Only two beers on tap, but the do have many by the bottle. They have many house wines. I asked for a house wine that is not too dry and they served me a perfect pour. The prices are VERY fair given the quality and location. read more

Basically the best Cioppino I've had anywhere. So rich and creamy. Most of the time the soup is just a broth with some flavor at the end of the sip, but this was amazingly good and rich. I finished most of it. Their Bolognese sauce is also scrumptious. My son devoured much of it. Very authentic and delicious. The only thing that wasn't the best was the seafood pasta with the combination marinara/pesto sauce. It needed salt and was pretty bland. I would skip it next time, but I would definitely come back. Came here twice in 2 days and ordered the exact same thing. The first time we came was on a tour and we got the sample of the cheese tortellini with salciccia. It was so exceptional we came back the next day to have that exact meal for lunch. And it was absolutely, 100% worth it. Also had some red wine. They have a special for a free dessert. Turns out you have to spend at least CA$40 to get it, which we did. So we got the creme brulee and it was sooooo good! I have to be honest, I am not sure I would have stopped here had we not come here on the tour but super glad we did because that pasta was so good! Stopped into this cute little Gastown restaurant on a rainy day and didn't regret it! Really massive portions and all delicious. I enjoyed the Cioppino, and my husband had the special, which included Rock Fish, shrimp and scallops. I personally enjoyed his scallops and shrimp the most, but everything was good! And a great price for the portions - I recommend sharing or getting it to-go! The service was nice, prompt and they were very kind. Came here at first on a stop for the Gaslamp Food Tour - we had this amazing ravioli with meat sauce on the food tour. Damn, that was so good. I highly recommend their fresh pastas and sauce!!! We were told they have great brunch too so came back the next day and got their French Toast and their Crab Benny. The thing that stood out the most out of those two meals was the Focaccia bread - I can eat 10 loaves of that. It was baked so well and it had butter and a little garlic too - mmmmmmmm so good. Crab Benny was yummy but I think the crab got lost a little under the Hollandaise. I would recommend changing the protein to be one of the other options. The eggs and sauce were all perfectly cooked though. The side of home potatoes were really really good!!! (They don't have ketchup in the store FYI). But they were good without it. So: get their homemade pasta and sauce and get anything with focaccia bread. Oh, I didn't really care for their almond croissant though. read more

We were referred to this place by two different friends and so we made a reservation for dinner. The location is quiet, with parking right out front. The brick building is rustic and cozy with huge windows that really brightens the room. The music is at the right volume which allowed us to have a conversation without having to shout! We ordered a beer, a cocktail, and two glasses of wine. We tried the lamb shank dish and Cioppino both of which had generous servings of everything, and were beautifully presented. It felt like the food was made with love and care. The service was just right, and not too invasive. I would recommend this place, as it has an inviting atmosphere and offers good value for the quality of food offered. We can't wait to return. read more

Upon the recommendation of the concierge at our hotel, upon arrival to Vancouver, we walked to Brioche Ristorante & Catering in a steady rain. Thankfully we arrived just as a lunch rush was slowing and although we started at a counter on stools, we were able to transition to a standard-height table. The French Toast: Sweet & Simple with maple syrup and a ramekin of fruit was delicious--the maple syrup comes already poured on. I would've liked a little more, but overall the sweetness was well balanced with the proportion of bread. I also appreciated that the fruit was not what is usually served in a "side of fruit" in the United States--it seemed more fresh and varied. The Eggs Benedict also received rave reviews. Had to take some pictures of the pastry offerings in the case, as the artistry was out of the ordinary. Overall, good service, great food: highly recommend. read more

As a transit user that goes downtown a lot, this place is super convenient as it's located a block or two away from the waterfront centre skytrain station. I came to this place based on a recommendation from a foodie friend of mine. My friend said their panini's were REALLY good. I honestly don't remember the last time i had a panini. I tried the Ham, Brie and Mushroom Panini based on my friend's recommendation. Price was fair at $10 as you get a good sized portion, just enough to be full for a meal. The ham panini was really good. They actually give quite a bit of ham too (see photo). The cheese was in there but it mostly melted away into the bun, haha. The tomatoes and lettuce were nice and fresh. They put a garlic herb sauce that made it tasty. I didn't eat inside but did take out this time. Wait time was a bit long at 8-10 minutes. They just wrapped my panini in aluminum foil and handed it to me. Inside, the place was pretty busy with customers. I noticed pretty much everyone ordered a panini. The staff at the counter was nice and talked a little bit about the menu options since I was a first time customer. I didn't know which bread is best for my panini and they kindly recommended one (i forgot which one i got, probably the focaccia.) I gotta say this..... one thing that irked me JUST a little was that the staff at the counter didn't wear a mask as we're in the middle of a pandemic. They also naturally talked at a pretty loud volume as I was standing right on the other side of them at the counter even feeling their breath on my face. Normally I wouldn't care but it's so weird nowadays seeing a staff member serving customers in a restaurant not wearing a face mask. So not wearing one in that job position in public is a little off-putting. Besides that, the panini was hella delicious and i'll go back just for it anyway so i'll give this place 4 stars. read more

In the midst of touring Vancouver, it was time for a mid afternoon coffee and pastry break, and we decided to do so in Gastown. Brioche Ristorante is a cozy coffee shop with a friendly staff and mouthwatering selections of pastries, croissants and desserts. Other food items are also available. We had the chai special which was a coffee or tea with any pastry for $11 Canadian. For the pastry we chose the freshly made Tiramisu (they said it was made very early that morning). The Tiramisu was magnificent. It was fresh, soft, melted on your palette. The layers of dark chocolate that crowned the pastry were the perfect compliment to the main body of the item. So, let me tell you all a story. It'll be short, I promise. I went in intending to watch a football match from the Argentine league, which requires WIFI, a feature this joint has ready. I was able to watch the full match, and my team River Plate won the Classico!!! I hugged a Polish dude and was congratulated by a Turkish one. The server from Mexico was super sweet and patient. Do I have to mention that the people are amazing here? 10/10 in Service. 1000/10 in patience. I had 3 Cappuccinos. Italian style, big warm and foamy but filled to the rim of the cup. 8/10 A glass of water to gulp down the pain. The Brioche French Toast is thick, like your sister's buns. And the fruit is sweet and freshly cut. Also, they didn't overpower the flavour with a litre of maple syrup... which I didn't liked but I was watching the match and couldn't complain. 8/10 Then by halftime, I had to start thinking about lunch and saw the Cheese Tortellini. Warm to murder the Vancouver cold, and richer than Kerrisdale. Will fill your mouth with warmth, cheesy deliciousness and remember you of your nonna - in the case you're Italian. 10/10!!! Brioche seems to be Italian, but with some French inclination, mixed in a Canadian blender, and in the form of a coffee shop. Great to have a homestyle pasta, a Sammy or a Benny. The ambiance is calm, and deconstructed but I broke the vibe when my team scored, something I apologised profusely. read more

Dropped into this Gastown eatery at random and enjoyed a very pleasant breakfast while people-watching. I got a 3-ingredient breakfast sandwich (prosciutto, bacon, goat cheese) on focaccia. They didn't skimp on the ingredients, and with the exchange rate, it was a damn sight cheaper than eating a similar brekky in Seattle. Seriously, I had IHop and it was a dollar more.
