Very good store. They do a high volume of business so it can sometimes take some time but they are efficient and good at what they do. Shopped there since the early 90's, had few bad experiences. A little pricey on service but excellent. Two trips ago a guy changed a trimmer head for me for free and neither the head or trimmer were purchased there. I did go ahead and buy some supplies that day. Bought all my Snappers there and they always get the service work. Overall, no complaints. read more

1st - If your employee tells customer this is the part they need then they need to be sure that, that is the part if it is going to be ordered. 2nd - If an order is 20% up front non-refundable then a customer needs to be told this information up front. I get charged 20% for an incorrect part that your employee determined. That sounds like a rip off. Your cashier counter need to be manned better and more professional. read more

I've shopped at K&D for years and I even bought a riding mower from them. This last encounter was just awful and last time that they will receive my family's hard earned money. While standing in line (trying to social distance) the two cashiers were taking customers first come first served basis. Just as the African American customers became next in line (2 of us), one cashier decides to greet a Caucasian customer who had just walked in the door and proceeded to leave the register to help him, the cashier never came back. K&D, you've got to do better than this. I've seen racism in your store before and perhaps it's just a few bad apples in your bunch - it's not enough to not be a racist, you need to be an anti-racist. There is a difference between the two that has cost you a 20 year customer. read more

If you you want to have a knowledgeable salesperson help you with a quality piece of power equipment K & D is hard to beat. Their prices are typically the same or very close to the big box stores. The other high quality brands, Stihl, snapper pro, Shindaiwa, etc are all there too. It's the little things like when you buy a piece of equipment, that they fill up the gas tank and oil, so that it is ready to run when you leave the store. I have a chainsaw, blower (Stihl) and lawnmower (Honda) that I have purchased from them and will be back for anything other needs in the future. They run a great special on saw chains!! read more

We purchased a stihl backpack blower from k&d. I used it 1 time and it broke. I brought it back for repair since it was warranty work. That was 9 weeks ago and it still has not been repaired and every time I am able to get someone on the phone which is not very often I get the run around. If I ever get it back I will always take it and my business somewhere else. And spend every waking moment and every spare dime I have advertising against this sham of a business. It is not the first time that I had to go, I was just passing through and I remembered that I needed the starter solenoid of my ss5000 bull, and there was an adult person who was on the phone and listened to everything she answered and was very kind despite the fact that the person asked him for prices of everything I was stopped for about 20 minutes and finally he just told me that he needed the serial number I think they are from the old school they need to have someone more layers in technology who is able to see or search for what piesa leads and not lose the customer now I feel that it is easier to buy in Linia than to go stand and wait for 20 minutes for them to tell you that you need a serial number but there is a young man with fluffy hair on the other side and a girl from purple hair and a young man over an age of 30/35 years old and they never said they attended you they just stayed talking among themselves read more

My husband and I went to K & D Rental yesterday interested in purchasing a new mower after ours finally gave it up after 25 yrs. I managed the equipment for a large maintenance company in Baton Rouge for several years, and I have been a normal, meaning private, customer of K & D for 15 years. As an equipment manager, I had a significant contact with many vendors of the sort of equipment K & D sells and maintains. K & D has been the the only provider of maintenance equipment, in my experience, which consistently offers sound advice for the appropriate use and maintenance of the equipment it sells. Every other vendor I came into contact with, at one point or another, offered advice or equipment which explicitly served their own interests, say, for example, part of some sales goal, then could not live up to the promises they made regarding service or allowed their personal goals to interfere with an understanding of the limitations of the equipment they sell. All equipment has flaws, usually trade offs for something like durability for a smooth cut. A sales force has to be honest about these trade offs to give a customer sound advice. I always found K & D's employee's advice to be accurate. I have no explanation for this, except, perhaps, that K & D is a family owned business in which they expect to have decades long, peronsal contact with customers. Bad advice or over promising serves no real short term interest for them in same the way that it can for an employee of a single brand name vendor. I've also seen ownership and management change at most of the vendors, with uneven advice and service as the result. I see the same faces in K & D now that I saw ten years ago. When I go to K & D now, 5 or 6 times a year, I am just a normal customer. I no longer work in the maintenance industry, not for 7 years. Still, when I go in, I often see managers I knew years ago in the maintenance industry. They've gone out and started their own businesses, or have moved on to some other job, and are now doing business with K & D for their personal property. That tells me that their experience with K & D mirrored my own. I noted with some amusement Jennifer's review of someone in K & D's parts department. I do understand her complaint. Some of the people in their parts department had been there for 15 years, and in my experience found any part still available for the equipment I managed or own personally. However, it takes a certain kind of mind to do that kind of work for years on end and to have that kind of graphic memory. There are people that work for a single vendor, say a John Deere dealership for that same amount of time, who have similar knowledge of their brand equipment, but the parts people at K & D have knowledge of several brands and graphic memories that are rather astonishing. I simply did not have the time to examine the plans for every motor, bushing, belt, washer and pin I needed. I had to get a lot of parts from many vendors in Baton Rouge. I was dependent upon such people to save me time, and K & D's parts people were as good or better than anyone else's. Get your part, don't worry about the...rigidness?...of the mind that finds it. Those of us who worked in the maintenance industry noted that same demeanor she complained about on occasion, perhaps from the same very knowledgeable person, and decided it was worth K & D's parts people's professional knowledge. It was contact over a long period of time with K & D and other vendors which gave us that opinion. I can recommend K & D without reservation for advice and service over years. read more

I went to the parts counter to purchase a part for my string trimmer , the woman at the parts counter was extremely rude ! There is no excuse for this other than management allows it ! Another customer walked up to the counter at the same time and the woman at the counter did everything but kick his butt on the way out of the door .I will not go back after years of purchasing equipment and parts there . read more

Horrible service department and management up front is just as bad. I run a small lawn care business roughly 85 accounts. I dropped one of my scag mowers off 10 weeks ago. Was told service was one week out. My mower was never touched so it's still broke and I'm out 10weeks of time. I was lied to on multiple occasions both over phone and in person as to the completion date. That's why I've let it go so long. Horrible management of front desk and service department. I can't stress enough how many times I was lied to. Picked up my still broke mower today with not even a apology from management. Piss poor business all the way around from K and D. read more

I love K&D Rent-All :) Everytime I go up there (whether for myself or for my family) I get excellent customer service. I feel as though I am important and that they value me as a customer. I have purchased outdoor equipement items with my uncle before (he doesn't speak English) at bigger, more department-like stores and they act like they don't care which way or another. If you are looking a place that knows what they are talking about (outdoor equipment wise) and treat you as a friend instead of a 'customer' then I would head to K&D. Got a new STIHL saw right off the wall. It did not come with directions. I was not informed that there needed to be a fuel mix. I used it with their fuel but after a while it did not start. My bad. But when I brought it back to the store to see what was wrong they started it up and held down the trigger at full blast at least three times , it still would not stay on. As a result a piston was destroyed up and my two week old saw $400.00 dollar purchase needs $170.00 in repairs. even though I bought a two year warranty with it. Not happy. When I asked to speak with the owner I was told he was too busy. What to take a 5-10 Minute phone call? Go somewhere else for your equipment. Sheesh. read more

I rented a pressure washer on 5/20/15 and did not have any problem with anything, which is a first for me with rented equipment. The machine started easily, worked perfectly and the service when checking out and back in was excellent. I will use K&D again. read more
