This company one of the worse that I have dealt with. It is understood that people will call and be rude to tow company workers as they may be frustrated with whatever situation they find themselves in, that brings them into contact with a tow company, but the staff is so rude and ill-mannered. My mother-in-law's vehicle was towed from our apartment complex. We called K&D, as they are who our complex contracts with. They stated that they did not have the vehicle. We called the police as as we awaited their arrival, my gut told me to call again and see if they had the car. I was again told they did not and that I needed to call the police. The police arrived and we made a police report. Not soon after the officer left, the officer called us back and reported that the car was actually towed by K&D. I called them again and spoke with the same gentleman, now I hear papers moving and he all of a sudden had the car in the Temple Hills yard. He told us the price and address and stated that the car could be picked up anytime prior to midnight. We go to retrieve the vehicle before midnight, and wouldn't you know, there is no one at the yard. After calling the same number back, a very rude female answers the phone and keeps using phrases, such as "I don't know why people ask that," and "I don't know why people keep telling you all that." Like ma'am...people ask questions because they do not know, first off, secondly the person that represents your company is the one that gave us the information, why the hostility? She then stated that the car would have to be picked up the next day. This business could use some customer training and little empathy. I don't know how this place is still in business. This is the SECOND time they towed my car with a parking pass ON THE MIRROR. TWICE THEY HAVE TOWED MY CAR WITH A PARKING PASS INSIDE OF IT. The dude that was there wasn't allowing me to show him that the pass was hanging in my mirror. The picture the driver took had a flash over my mirror and the middle of my car. I wasn't allowed to have the drivers number. The driver that towed my car said that if it was hanging in the window when I got there I wouldn't have to pay but once o got there I wasn't allowed to do it. I had to pay 175 to get the car back after it being TAKEN in the middle of the night with a parking pass inside of it hanging on the mirror ! This is the second time ! I am so sick of this company. Very shady company. They come in the wee hours of the morning to tow your vehicle. In my case, they towed me and I had a valid parking sticker for my community. They did not file the vehicle as "towed"with the system the police uses to collaborate with tow companies so I end up racking up a pretty hefty bill by the time I discovered my vehicle missing. K&D Towing improperly hooked up my all wheel drive vehicle (AWD) by hooking up the front tires and not disengaging the back tires. I filed a comprehensive claim with my insurance company and according to my mechanic, they way they are supposed to hook up my AWD is TOWING 101. They caused damage to the tune of $2,800. Their insurance company claimed that K&D didn't tow my vehicle. It was definitely K&D...a white truck with K&D Towing written in cursive writing. The driver was 3 hours late and it took me some time to receive this information from my employer; but Dontay Tate of K&D Towing had to be signed in to enter my agency's building (I was in the passenger seat and his female companion sat in the middle). We left my job with my vehicle improperly hooked up to his vehicle at 8:05pm. I'm glad I found concrete evidence that K&D towed my vehicle for insurance purposes because they didn't own up to what they did. My warranty company disputes K&D towing to tow my 2011BMW 550. The driver gets to my residence toes my car from the back on a hook. I follow K&D TOWING to ensure my car reaches the repair shop. We are 100m from my home and I see my car drop from the hook in the middle of a busy intersection. The driver jumps out of the car I run over to check my car. The driver immediately gets defensive when I say what happen you drop my car. Says F you I'll leave your SH*T in the middle of the the street. I say unhook my car now I Call the number on the side of the truck the man who answered the phone says I need to call the driver and hangs up. I drive my car back to my home. Call the warranty company and see car lights outside my home I go outside the driver is on my property without authorization doing god knows what before i caught him it was taking a pic of the back of my car.
