We called them about very large gaps located at the bottom of our fence and sent them the requested photos. They never responded!

Sounded good and reasonably priced. Fence fell down not long after installation. Called company a thousand times. They were rude, nasty, and eventually the phone would always "disconnect" on their end when we would call and say who we were or why we were calling. Had to have a different fencing company come fix and we were told the fence wasn't even cemented in the ground properly and all the fence caps were the wrong size (which is why they would keep blowing off). Had to put in a complaint with the BBB and even they were unable to help us resolve the issue. Had to go above the BBB. What a nightmare! We should have known the way they hounded us for our business and bribed us with special offers and gift cards to restaurants. Lesson learned. Don't make our mistake! read more

This company installed my fence back in 2017 and I haven't had any issues. So, I contacted them again to request a quote for two sections and never got a response. DONNA asked me for pictures of the project. I sent her the pictures. Then, she asked for the measurements of the area, which I did, and she never returned my emails or calls. Had a fence installed a few years ago by this company no problems. Called to get a quote to remove two posts and reinstall same day. Kevin was the worst to deal with no customer service skills what so ever,Once he found out his company didint install the fence we were having the post removed and reinstalled he was a bear. I should have read the reviews before going with this company however I went with them because my next door neighbor was using them and figured it would make the flow look cleaner and they were coming to my area. BIG MISTAKE!!! The quote and install went well. The guys were there on-time and professional for both. The install guy was actually amazing - he did an excellent job with the attention to cutting the fence around the pipes between the houses. I was excited when I seen this level of detail and care taken with the project. The problem was the service call. My gate latch broke one year after installation. Things happen we understand that - it is the response and how this company responds is the issue. It took 2 calls to even get a response, which was send us a picture - ok done then nothing. Then 2 more emails and 2 more calls yield we will put you on the repair list and you have to pay for the repair - no problem. Question - when will they come out to repair - when we can fit you in. Forget an estimate of the hour of the day they would NOT even provide an estimate of the week of the month. After 2 weeks - I found another fence repair guy to come out for the same price and they were arrived within 24 hours. I came here to leave a bad review and started reading the other reviews...it's the same story over and over again. They installed the fence badly, I called and they asked me to send photos. I did and never heard a reply. I had someone else fix a few of the issues. 2 years have now gone by and the gate fell off. I've called multiple times this week and spoken to Donna (the original person who ignored my emails) and she told me every time that they were coming the next day. No one has shown up or called me. Had fence installed in December. They have no clue how to install a fence unless the ground is level. Even on level ground they couldn't keep the fence tight to the ground as I requested. I had a double gate installed on one side. They had no clue how to keep fence tight to the ground. To even both gates they raised the post so high a cat can walk under the fence. The work looks ridiculous. All posts are supposed to be cemented 3 feet below grade. The post they raised is only a foot below grade. Doors do not latch they sag and are hitting at top. I called many times. Estimator came out took pictures nothing was done. He stopped answering his phone. I called office 3 times I sent photos as requested and got a response fence is installed correctly. Even though It doesn't latch or close. Do not use this company. They don't honor one year warranty as contract states. If anyone uses them this is what you can expect .$ 8899.00 for 150 feet of 6 foot vinyl fence and know I have to hire another fence contractor to redo side fence at my cost. If your looking for any other work to be done by this company. Be very careful because you will get what you pay for. Very poor installation, rude workers, and they just don't care about you or anything else. They only care for your money. Once they are done your job and your fence falls over a week later. K & J has totally mixed reviews wherever you look. But a I figured a free estimate couldn't hurt, and they actually ended up being the most reasonably priced company. They also were able to provide a start date sooner then any of the other companies I talked to. Before signing the contract I discussed the bad reviews with the owner and after our discussions I felt confident enough to hire them. During the two weeks between the estimate and the instillation K&J was always available to answer any questions and work with my scheduling needs. A $100 deposit was required, and the materials were dropped off in my drive way the week of instillation. The day of the instillation two men arrived around 9:30 AM, worked tirelessly and finished the job by 2:00 PM. Before touching my yard, they walked me through the process, went over the exact plans and placement of the fence, and asked for my decisions on a variety of small things. It was very clear that the installers cared about my satisfaction which I really appreciated. The fence looks great! read more

At this point they are getting a 1 star, if the issues are corrected the review will be corrected but I would like to share my experience thus far. *update: they have ignored us and done nothing to correct the issues and we are now in the process of going to small claims court* The man that came to sell me this job was friendly and SOLD me. He said the bottom of our fence would be "tensioned" so our dogs could not escape - it is not. Our dogs can easily wiggle under the fence. When the installers came no one knocked on my door to confirm the job, they just started putting Post's up but there were no errors there so that's not a huge deal, I just disagree with handling jobs like that. The installers told me they would return that night with the gate closure so that we can close the gate- they did not return. When I called the following day to request that someone come look at my job because I got a dog park that can not contain dogs with a gate that does not close, not open and various other issues I dealt with a rude response from Lynn. Lynn blamed my child and said he climbed on the fence, I am not sure how that has ANYTHING to do with the fact that their is no tension wire at the bottom of the fence and that the gate portion does not open nor close. I called the man that sold me the job and he gave me an email that was supposed to go to the owner. I sent 6 unanswered emails and STILL was ONLY looking for someone to look at this unfinished job in my yard and let me know when it would be done. I was getting emotional at this point so my husband calls and Kevin (the owner) says someone will be out Monday and on Monday they don't come and blame it on waiting for a part. Lynn says that my husband is lying and that no one said they would come out (now that I have taken TWO DAYS OFF from work) Kevin, the owner who speaks about his "word" and his military career refuses to respond and has Lynn deal with us while he cowardly makes remarks in the background. Since all I ever get on the phone is rude remarks and hung up on I go to the office and introduce myself and hold out my hand to shake Kevin's and simply say I want to speak with him. He began to yell at me, tell me my job is perfect and I am crazy and he doesn't want my money. I said "Ok, then return my money and I will hire someone else to finish the job." Kevin (the military man and man of his word) jumps out of his chair, physically pushes me out of the building in front of my five year old child. Pretty outrageous behavior in my opinion so I called the police and made a report. I am going to give them one week to finish the job and apologize for putting hands on me or I will have to go through the headache of small claims court and assault charges and all that bologna just because I want what I paid for- nothing more & nothing less. SHEESH! If you are looking for excellent service look elsewhere, if you wanna box someone this is the company for you! I attached photos, the black is my fence - the green is the picture I was shown when sold the job. See the wire along the bottom? That is supposed to keep dogs in? Yea, I don't have that and there is some tool in place of a closure. Whole thing is a headache and Kevin's behavior is beyond shocking lol I actually have to laugh that this man pushed me, JUST FIX IT YA MANIAC and don't talk about your "word" when you scream and push women. I had them come out and install a fence around my whole yard. In the contract it says if they run into anything during installation that will add time to the job, that I would be billed for that extra work. I signed the contract with the full understanding that they would let me know if they ran into problems. About 6 months after installation, we had a pretty windy day and two sections of the fence blew completely apart. I put it back together and noticed that several of the posts were loose. So I called them to come out and fix things. They were very unresponsive and it took weeks for them to stop by. The guy they sent out told me that the posts were loose because the guys that installed them cut the bottoms of them in half to fit around rocks or roots that were buried below the fence line. This caused the bottom of the posts to break completely off once the wind got a hold of the fence. I asked the owner of the company why they didn't let me know that extra work would be required to dig out the rocks/roots. he said that I wouldn't have paid for the extra work, so he didn't even bring it up to me. Dude, it is right in your contract that extra charges may apply... I would have gladly paid for it to be done properly and not half assed. He got really short with me on the phone and after a bunch of back and forth, I finally got them out there to fix the posts properly. I still have a loose post that I'm just going to fix myself because I can't stand dealing with these douchebags. Any money I saved by purchasing the fence through K&J was not worth the aggravation of dealing with these amateurs. read more

The worst customer service ever. They are rude and disrespectful. The owner of all people was rude, disrespectful and was yelling at me on two different occasions. Plus, the person who answers the phone sarcastically asked if I can read? Did I read the contract? But the contract said credit not debit. Therefore,They overcharged me and was disrespectful because I asked why. They gave me one price I gave them my card information but was charged more. They could a said how much the total came up to if it was a fee. If I wasn't charged the 1st time I'm not expecting to be charged a card fee the next time. Then they refuse to reimburse me and said I made him sick to his stomach. They already overcharged over $1000. So After I signed the contact I called asking the price and the owner didn't know I was already a customer. The price he gave was over $1000 less then the price the project manager and I agreed on. But I already signed the contract, therefore, I still had to move forward. The owner got mad when I asked why is the project manger charging me more and said well take that up with him when he comes Monday. But you the owner so why are you telling me to ask the project manager. You are responsible You are the one who should be explaining to me why he can charge more then the You the owner. Or maybe he up sales or that's his commission? Either way it seems he lets him get away with it because he disregarded the question. Then started yelling talking about how good a person the project manager is. But No one could answer that question. Then they charge a fee for the last payment but not the down payment when I used the same card. His excuse was the first time was complimentary. Then he tells me the project manager explained that to me. I told him he never verbally told me that and where is it written in the contract? Since they emphasized the contract so much. He tells me I'm a lier and he knows what the project manager told me. Wow, I couldn't believe my ears. That was BS and he knew it so he started yelling at me telling me all the people who likes and loves him. That was totally unprofessional and uncalled for. They did our fence and that winter the fence blew open with the lock on it. It would not stay closed unless we tied a rope around it. Contacted k&j at least three times to fix or replace fixture so fence less than year old would function properly. Still today they have done nothing. Rating has gone from 10 to 2. Irv was out and gave me an estimate for a new fence. I specifically asked him about their customer service, he assured me that they would come back out as many times as it took to make everything right. I took him at his word. K&J installed a $9k fence but didn't anchor the post properly. The 5 foot metal post was just set in the blacktop with concrete and not anchored at the top so it wobbles when I shut the gate. I brought this to their attention and Irv said to call the office, the office had me send in pictures. I sent in pictures and they said $50 to anchor the post. I responded that the post should have been properly anchored at the installation and I was not going to pay. The office scheduled the appointment but no one showed up on that date? Also I asked about changing the latch to a latch that can be opened with one hand, the office emailed me a picture of JUST THE LATCH HARDWARE, i emailed asking for a picture of the hardware installed and did not get a reply for a week. I called the office and the woman was rude and laughed at me saying she cannot share pictures of clients fences without consent. I asked her to send me ANY pictures of the hardware installed and that I just wanted to see what it looks like installed as I had no idea how it worked from looking at the picture of the hardware. I was so offended by this and that she couldn't do the legwork and find me ANY pictures of this type of hardware installed. I went on google and spend about 2 minutes and was able to find pictures of the latch installed. The office was not helpful and wouldn't do anything extra to help a client. After this I emailed in to schedule the latch installation and the post to be anchored (I was willing to pay for the latch change but not the post anchoring). No response. I also called Irv, the sales person, and left him a voicemail. No response. I would not recommend K&J fence as they do not keep their word about customer service and are unresponsive to follow up requests. Sorry for the long post but I tried saying all that happened! After getting a wood fence (3/4 around property), and also 5 - six feet high sections of privacy fence in front of pool. We had a total of 3 issues after installation. 1st issue was the privacy fence sections were not in the ground tight. The wind had the sections weaving, and waving all over the place. It took 2 weeks, and many pictures sent to them AND me calling to get them out. The guy who finally came said to me "make sure you check out after I'm done because I don't wanna come out here again! I said to him "no sh** I don't want you here again" 2nd time ( both incidents were within the first Month or so of installation) we called because the one gate's, which we almost never use, hardware had come off. Again more pictures had to be sent, and Again more than 2 weeks and no call back. I even told them there was no rush and they could come out whenever they were in the area, but we never received a call back and we fixed it ourselves. Here I thought I was being kind in telling them no rush. Haha they could care less! The final (3rd) time I called was on September 16, 2020 because the privacy part of the fence was peeling and separating. (Yes we knew there was no guarantee on wood, BUT the fence was only installed on January 29, 2020. We were told this was Number 1 cedar but I'd invite anyone to come see the fence and the poor performance in the installation of it.) I NEVER received a return call back and ONE MONTH later (October 14th) I called and asked why no one ever called me. (Side note: I specifically waited a whole month to call them because I knew they'd use the Pandemic as an excuse. Even though they were still working during it) Well this is where the best happens! I believe it was the owner, Kevin, I spoke to (as I spoke to him once before and he was very rude that time as well). Either way it was one of the 2 men I was told were the owners. when I asked why there was never a return call in a month he then says to me "I AM TEMPTED TO HANG UP THIS PHONE RIGHT NOW). I said to him " are you kidding me. He then says " I guess you don't care that , the office secretary, had COVID." He said this 3 times like a child would say to another child. I said fist of all I had 3 family members with COVID! Does your business solely run on one person? And couldn't someone give a courtesy call back stating the issue if there even was one??? I've NEVER, EVER been spoken to, in the way he spoke to me, by anyone I called to my home to do a service for us that we were paying good money to! After all of his nastiness I hung up on him after I told him what a crappy business he was running! I Just found out several friends and coworkers had the EXACT same issues with needing service and being spoken to by these ignorant people! Lastly, We have had several other professionals come for various other things and the fence was constantly brought up. It's not straight in so many places and the quality of the wood is questionable! There is no way it can be #1 Cedar. The 1/4 of my fence that is left is 30 years old and was number 1 Cedar! We wonder if this fence will last 10 years! So I will tell you to CHECK REVIEWS BEFORE USING THIS OR ANY COMPANY! Had I not went with one person I knew who used them, AND I MIGHT ADD THEY DIDN'T NEED SERVICE AFTER THE INSTALLATION WAS COMPLETE, and checked reviews this review would not be here as we would NEVER have used them!!! Two of the four gates that were installed and repaired by this company still need repair. I needed a fence for my dogs in my new house. Soon. I have two energetic beagles and they need space to sniff and roam. All the fence companies I called were not able to come out before 4 weeks. And , they were all higher priced. It's like they knew I really needed this dog run. Well, the salesman at KJ, Irv, was quite the opposite . He made me feel immediately at ease and assured me the dog run would be up as soon as they got the utility mark outs. I was shocked because nobody else mentioned these mark outs to me. The contract I signed was simple with no small print . Nothing hidden. I gave a small deposit and Irv gave me a date for last week. Wednesday. I was completely snowed/rained out. I called the office a little worried because I read the reviews for KJ and their customer service. Some of the things I read were not very good. But, to tell you the truth, I got the total opposite experience. I found the girl that answered the phone pleasant . She put me on hold and the owner got on. Kevin. And, although he didn't do any small talk, he was direct and to the point. I like that. He didn't make any false promises and said if mother nature lets him, he would be out today (the 25th) And, the installers were here at 9:40 and done by 1:00. I had Bill, Shane and Nick. These guys were polite, thorough and , although they made a scary mess at the beginning, they cleaned it all up before they left. And they showed me the gate locking mechanism, answered all my questions and made sure I was happy before they left. They walked me through before they started and before they left. My and wife and I purchased a newly constructed home and have used many contractors since moving in. We were happy with everyone we used but this one. In fact, they are the only contractor that we would never use again. I am writing this review hoping to spare someone the time and money that we had to pay to fix K & J's poor workmanship and total lack of accountability. My wife and I purchased a vinyl fence that was simply supposed to outline the property line of our backyard. The crew came out and finished the job within a day. However, the part of the fence that ran along the adjacent lot appeared to curved. In other words, the fence did not run straight to the back property line. I checked with the project manager that the fence was on our property and he assured me that it was. I didn't want to make a big deal about the slightly curved side so I let it go so long as the fence was on our property. A few months later, my neighbor bought the lot next to us. He had his property surveyed by a fence company and they advised him that my fence was on his property by five feet! I immediately alerted K & J Fencing and reminded them of how their project manager assured me that the fence was on my property despite its curved appearance. I spoke the owner Kevin who said he knew who my neighbors fence company was and that he would "punch that guy in the face the next time he saw him." I said your big words sound great but who's going to fix my fence? He told me just leave it the way it was and that if I were fined by my homeowners association, that he would pay the fines. I gave him a week to fix the fence and he refused to do so. I have since filed a complaint against him in the superior court of Atlantic County. He never answered the Complaint so I will move for a default judgment against him in the near future. I am fortunate that I am an attorney and have the skills to institute legal action against them on my own. However, there are many people out there who do not have my skills and would just have to take their experience up as a loss. Please do yourself a favor and use anyone else other than this company for your fence. If you don't believe me, please search the web for them and take note of all the lousy reviews. I had my fence installed by KJ about 8 years ago and had no issues until the last storm. Wind knocked out most of a big tree down into my fence I had big gaps where the sections was popped out. I called KJ in a panic. I have dogs and the opening has to be fixed asap. The girl, Lin at the office was very understanding (said she has dogs ,too) and explained the service procedure. She said they would send me an email and I was to reply and attach pictures of the damage, so someone in service could see it, and get right back to me. I was very worried that it would take to long or that I wouldn't be able to do it the right way. Lin assured me it is the fastest way to get me on the work schedule, and told me how easy it is. Well, Guess what? She was right. By the end of the day someone in service replied to me with a price and date to come out. Although I never heard of someone asking me for a $25.00 deposit to hold a service date. I will tell you that it was well worth it. I didn't have to take off work to be there and they emailed me pictures of the finished job. I told them to charge the remaining balance to the credit card on file. And they emailed me my receipt/paid in full invoice and assured me the card is no longer on file. K & J installed a wooden fence on our property about 6 years ago. One of the pillars became loose, causing the fence to sag to one side. I called K & J to take a look at it to see what could be done to fix the problem and was told to submit photos of the fence and someone would get back to me to arrange a time to come to my house to look at the fence. Two weeks later, after not hearing from K & J, I called and again was told that someone would contact me. After another two weeks passed, and no response from K & J, I called again and the man who answered the phone said he had looked at the photos but hadn't bothered to contact me because he thought "it was a joke." He said the fence was sagging because of a vine on the fence, but when I pointed out that the fence had started sagging months before the vine appeared he just kept repeating himself and blaming the vine. He never apologized or expressed any concern for not getting back to me. Unfortunately, while K & J's original pricing was good, my recent experience with the company has raised serious concerns about its business practices. read more

They don't even deserve one star from us! Let's start with the day they were supposed to come give us an estimate for our replacement fence. The sales guy was supposed to come at 3. He didn't show up until 430 and that was after two or three calls to the office saying he didn't show up. The owner gave my husband the sales guys cell phone number and he didn't answer either. When he finally showed up, he was polite and gave us a decent quote so we decided to hire them. It turns out that you get what you pay for because every interaction after this one was terrible. The crew showed up on a Friday at 9am as scheduled. They were polite but very unprofessional to say the least. Shirts off, smoking cigarettes and leaving the butts in our driveway, and they also filled our home trash cans up to the brim with their trash and the trash from the job. We had an issue with the property marker and the neighbor complained to one of the workers and they started arguing. When we called the office as soon as the workers left at 2pm, it took more than a few calls to get someone on the phone. The woman who answered was nice but did not relay our information and concerns to the owner right away. She said that everyone had left for the day and that she would reach out to them owner and he would be in touch. NO ONE called us back. My husband contacted the sales guy who finally called him back at 515 and said he was "on his way home from a job and would stop by on his way". 7pm rolled around and he never showed up or called. When my husband called and texted his cell he did not answer or respond. I ended up driving to the office Saturday early afternoon. The woman who had originally answered the phone was the only one there and said that she would reach out to someone for them to reach out to us on Monday morning by 915am. At 930am we called and spoke with the sales guy and he said he was on his way over in 15 minutes to address our concerns. Once again he never showed up!!! He sent the same workers over with the appropriate caps that we had ordered that we didn't get day of and sent a very generic email stating paid in full. We never spoke with anyone again and responded to the email. NO ONE apologized to us for the unprofessionalism. The crew was dressed inappropriately and blaring music with curse words around my young son. The customer service is terrible and I would NEVER use this company or recommend them to anyone I know. We need a fence around our pool and will be using a different, more reputable company with better customer service and professional employees! DO NOT HIRE K&J FENCING FOR ANY OF YOUR NEEDS. Don't do business with these people, they just argue with you and do little else. My wife and I purchased a fence and out side shower stall about a month ago. I currently have a problem with my fence and have only gotten rude denials of their warranty coverage with Lynn who answers the phone and apparently little else. I have sent several emails to the company president asking him to return my call. So far I have only gotten a bizarre email back from him, which addressed none of my questions at all. Rather, he alluded to having been in the Army and stated his goals which he says he wrote down upon leaving the Army?? None of his goals have any thing to do with me. Sorry former soldier, I am a new customer with a problem and I have asked repeatedly for a return phone call to discuss my situation and problem. If you have PTSD see the VA! I am a veteran too and I don't play the Veterans card for forgiveness or special considerations. When a customer calls and asks for a return call, CALL THEM! When a new customer has a problem, address the problem and find a way to make it right. Otherwise your not running a business, it's more like a scam. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH K &J FENCE! The wife had them put a fence up for her dogs and privacy with 2- 8' wide gates and a picket fence in the back. The estimator said a straight forward job and shouldn't be any issues. Well it wasn't, had 2 guys one had to be the owners son or relations he did nothing but complain. The fence was to be on her side of the property line he had to move it 6" , complained about that,while the other guy just worked Nothing but arguments that they always do it this way or I did something to make panels fall and as for the 8' wide opening gates. Can't get a small car through them..Ok long drawn out list of wrongs not righted from wavy lines to off plumb posts, to gates you can't drive through not to mention posts that the support are missing, short or not set in deep enough. I had 5 fence companies come to my Williamstown home last year to provide free estimates for a dog run . Every company told me they could fence in half of the area I requested for the money I had budgeted for the project. And no one could give me a close by installation date. My dogs couldn't go outside!! KJ fence gave me more than I requested for less than anyone. The project manager was so easy to talk to and right on time. They came to install when they said they would and did a 5 star job. Fast neat and concerned for my dogs well being. My fence has held thru all storms so far and I would recommend them to anyone. I usually read reviews before hiring anyone, but my husband felt comfortable with this company and there were positive reviews on another site so I left it at that. What a mistake! They measured wrong by 24 feet then told us we are financially responsible for the difference while telling us what a "deal" we were getting on the "extra" length. No, it is not extra- it SHOULD be included in the quote you gave us. Take responsibility for your own mistake. To make matters worse, the fence is downright dirty (mud streaks) and the rocks and debris that were dug up are all strewn in the lawn. What they did clean up they put in our brand new trash cans until my husband made them remove it since our township will not haul that-and obviously we are not going to pay someone else to clean up after them. They obviously take zero pride in their workmanship. I am appalled at the condition they left our yard in. We found them at the Philadelphia Home Show and thought that gave them credibility. Wrong! The sales person was professional and polite. That's where it ended. The installers wanted to put the posts in an easement to avoid cutting through the concrete. They also wanted to leave the wooden posts. They put the gate on backwards from what we discussed with the salesman. It took over 9 months before we could get anyone to come out to look at it and when they switched the gate they couldn't get out the steel support rod that is suppose to take the weight of the gate. So, it's still on the wrong side. They told us that they would be back and that was the last that we heard from them. Good riddance. Don't use them! read more
