When I started asking around for moving companies (having never used one myself), pretty much everyone's first suggestion was Two Men and A Truck! It was relatively quick to get an estimate, and I appreciate that they only charge for what is actually used during the move. I really appreciated being able to get packing services done same day as the loading/unloading, even with an extra stop in between. My packers/movers were all very professional, kind, and communicative. As someone with social anxiety, I appreciated that they were willing to let me leave when I needed to and would come to talk when there were questions. These guys will break your stuff and blow you off. During my move, they improperly secured my easel, breaking it and leaving it useless (I'm an artist and my tools are my livelihood), the mover Chris wrote up a damage report and said they were going to follow up within a few days. They never did, so I followed up with them directly multiple times and was told only the manager could assist, but the manager, was conveniently out of office each time, I left my information and never got a call back. I finally got of a hold of him and he "couldn't access" the damage report paperwork in their system. Luckily, I downloaded it before it expired (the link conveniently expires after a few weeks), and sent it to him. I have emailed and called multiple times, left messages and have yet to get this sorted. It's been almost a month. There are lots of better options out there, don't use these guys. read more

I recently had an excellent moving experience! This reminds me to YELP! About all things (not just food , lol!) My experience was excellent and I recommend them! From my move from California to ABQ, to now, a local move , they have been consistent in providing great customer service and fair prices. The initial setup is very hands off, which I appreciate. I mean that they don't harass you with constant phone calls and check-ins. Instead, there is a user friendly portal to schedule everything and allows you to manage the move with ease. However, if I had questions, I was able to call and speak to my customer service rep, Christian who was ready to answer any question or adjustments I had - via phone or email. On moving day, the movers were prompt, explained everything to me and were professional. They transported my treadmill and other items with care! They reassembled anything they had to take apart and explained if anything was going to take more time than my quote. When we discovered that we accidentally told them to pack something that shouldn't have, they were understanding and had no problem opening up a few boxes and searching for the item until we found it, and then resealed the boxes. I work for a nonprofit agency that helps survivors of domestic violence and their families. A few days ago, a generous donor called to let me know that she and her adult daughter had a number of items for clients, including 2 beds, a couch, dressers, bedding, etc., but would need us to pick them up from their homes across town. In the past, we have asked to borrow staff members' pickup trucks and relied on volunteers and staff to help us move donations. In retrospect, this wasn't very smart, as anyone could get hurt and/or damage the donations or living spaces - a pretty big liability. This time, the lack of an available truck and staff members got us to look in to using Two Men and a Truck. We were able to set up an appointment for the next morning. It was a bit of a complicated order - two seperate pick ups, and two drop offs, with the business (our agency) paying. For confidentiality, we didn't give the drop off addresses until the day of the move. The guys (Justin and Darren) arrived right on time to the first address. They shrink wrapped and moved everything in to the truck, taking care to organize the items for more efficient dqelivery to the two drop off locations. They did the same for the second pick up. Watching them work, I realized that this move would have been dangerous and lengthy if we rubes had tried to do it ourselves. They truly went above and beyond for our clients, bringing heavy pieces up and down flights of stairs, helping organize for an expecting mother, so that she didn't endanger herself trying to move things. When the beautiful, but unwieldy, donated couch didn't fit through the front door, they looked for an alternative. It meant hoisting the couch over the back fence and removing the back door, but it worked! The client was thrilled ("It feels like Christmas!") I'll be taking up a collection to tip these guys next week. Btw, that generous donor who gave over $2K in household goods? She also surprised us by picking up the tab for the move! It wasn't cheap ($120/per hr plus tax and optional insurance), but it was worth it! We'll never move big donation pieces by ourselves again. read more

In March of this year me and my family went thru a traumatic event where we got removed from our apartment. To make the efforts less stressful we hired these guys. They were amazing in terms of helping us pack and get things on the truck. Until there wasn't enough time left even though they quoted us the amount of time they needed with their process. We had a specific storage plan since we had two storage units. The plan was for stuff staying in storage long term to be in one. And stuff staying temporarily to be in the other. Because that would allow us to downsize the storage and get rid of the extra unit. Since we can't afford $300 a month for both. These guys couldn't care less. Every box was labeled for which unit it should go in - very clearly with the unit numbers. These guys disregarded this entirely and ended up causing us no choice but to keep both storages and as a result we haven't been able to build any savings for a deposit at a new apartment. We've been forced to live in a shelter and these guys couldn't care less. Don't ever trust them with a move. They just don't give a shit. Now we're $3000 in the hole from paying them and not any closer to having a new home because we can't save on monthly expenses. read more

I subcontracted Two Men and a Truck to move vases to be placed on water retaining dishes. The information and expectations were expressed when inquiring solicitation of their services. The details were then expressed to the movers when arrived late. After breaking two of the water containing dishes, the movers explained they could not complete the job. The manager explained he would reimburse me for damaged property after I sent proof of damage. He also explained that they could complete the job with larger and more movers. After waiting for confirmation for several days, I made efforts to contact the manager. He finally answered my calls and explained the owner would not be able to complete the job, but would reimburse me. After several weeks I received an invoice for their labor and not completing the job, and they have not reimbursed me. I will never use this company again, and would encourage others to find another business to patronage. read more

Should Not Be In Business- Worst moving company I've ever dealt with: 6 houses and 4 states. They do not come out to your home to look at what they will be moving they just give you an inaccurate estimate. The guys moving you inform you to tip them and feed them and tell them when to take a break. They left a whole pack of cigarette butts, portion of burger and fries on my freshly graveled driveway. If they didn't want to pack something they would toss it in the closet as if I wasn't going to vacuum or confirm all items were packed. After forgetting to deliver all our storage that was supposed to be separated from everyone else's, they had to come all the way back to OK to bring what they thought was the rest: 3 very large tv's, 20' extension ladder, half master closet, almost everything in the kitchen. Yes they brought other people's items mixed with ours. There are many lost and broken items. After almost 2 months of me sending weekly emails requesting status on repairs/replacement they found a company to repair some things and they gave a 5+ months until they can get to ours. No response from management. My inventory list was blank and I didn't receive it until the 1st delivery. They didn't use the mattress bags that they had me pay for. They don't box tv's. Trying to remediate this awful experience has been like pulling teeth. GM is nowhere to be found and the incompetent 'Customer Care Specialist' couldn't care less. Two Men and a Truck are truly pros -- everything they did was above and beyond, from timely communication, upbeat attitude that helped soothe our moving stress, knowing exactly how to move each item so it was safe and so were doors and walls, and gently offering suggestions about where to put things and how to organize. One extra touch -- they went out of their way to help some self movers at our storage facility who were struggling to get their own load out of a self-rental truck. It's nice hearing all these positive reviews. Unfortunately ours was not good. We used them back at the beginning of September to move us from Santa Fe to Rio Rancho. Everything at the beginning was great. They picked up and loaded all our boxes and furniture on time. They were two young men that showed up. We took to them fast and were laughing and poking fun the whole day. When we got to our new house they started unloading. As they were unloading I noticed that they broke the wheel off my craftsman tool box. The kid got his hand held and took a picture and filled out information. I signed it and they kept unpacking. Come to find out that it was for a item that was already broken and the company was not at fault. I wasn't told that therefore I didn't read the fine print. That was my fault however it was misleading. We bought the boys lunch and they finished up. A few days later as we were trying to unpack we noticed things were damaged. Turns out they broke our 75" TV. Damaged our dinning room table that was just refinished with multiple bad scratches and a major gouge on the surface. We reached out to the company to make a claim. We are the end of November and nobody calls us back or has settled our claim for us. Mind you we paid $1800 for their services but they did more in damage. The TV alone was $2200.00 and the refinish was about the same. We have been ghosted and they refuse to call us or work with us on our claim. I would not recommend using them for this major fact. They seem to be great if they don't break your stuff! Good luck getting a claim done. These guys moved my parents. My parents gave the crew a washing machine that is less than 4 years old and a 55" TV because one of the guys mentioned he needed a new washer and dryer... Well that would be fine if my parents hadn't needed to call me up to move all the stuff these guys left behind. I'm disappointed in the fact that not only did they leave a sedan's worth of stuff and a truck bed's worth, they accepted expensive items and didn't finish the job. It wasn't the best experience although their Operations Department did their best to make things right. One of the two, the driver, I felt so sorry for him. He was just having a bad day. He backed the truck into another vehicle, then fell and gashed his knee. Overall, I felt the service was very slow and when you are paying by the hour slow counts too much. I was concerned with how they handled the boxes and had to bring it to their attention that the boxes were marked on the top, so it's not good to turn them over and potentially damage the items inside. But I do have to say both young men were friendly, polite, well mannered and seemed to want to provide excellent service. It was just a bad day for the young men, and it can happen to anyone. I've used Two Men on another move, and they were excellent, this appears to be an anomaly. I'll still consider the company in the future should I have to move again and it was because these two men tried so hard on a bad day that I will. read more

Their Motto is a lie-Movers Who Care. After hiring them to move my daughter, paying their high prices for moving labor, gas surcharges, special fee for a Saturday move, and packing up the kitchen at $275 an hour per service type, they wasted 6 hours because operations did not send enough trucks and staff to pack and move us. The they did not even complete the move; we spent 4 hours taking the furnishing they did not take the next day. They packed the kitchen by just stuffing stuff in boxes and charged us for packing materials and broke a lot of stuff, they will not pay us back for. They broke a cabinet door at the previous house and broke a room door at the new house. Next their employees decided not to take the household contents they initially agreed to take when the 2nd truck showed up because the driver was going to miss his hair cut appointment if this move took too long. The 2nd truck driver cam in and started fights with us, the first crew, and then proceeded to spend the rest of his day harassing us about paying for a second truck, threatened us that they would just stop the move and charge us anyway because he was going to miss his hair cut appointment, which led to him to start talking shit about us to the moving team and then to our faces. We provided pictures, real-time feedback in text, email, and voice mail to management, customer service and their corporate entity as this was happening, and then no one called us back about any of this for a week. Their general manager basically told us tough shit, you paid, and we will not refund any wasted time/materials or work our any compensation, apology, or any restitution. So, for $4300 bucks we took it in the shorts by the local franchise, and their corporate entity has no control or will not help in any way as well. We will never use them again and warn all of you to stay clear of this company because of their business practices, lack of professional staff, and management inability to control its staff/business. Lie some many companies if you get crappy service you have to pay for it and take in the shorts or they take you to court for their failures and you pay more for their crappy service model. But like most all we can do is sue in small claims court and provide feedback in forums like this. read more

They stood around talking to one another while on my watch. They got really slow and lazy towards the end. The company should be prepared and hire movers who are professional. They even had their friends show up and talked with them who brought them food. When I asked them about it they thought it was ok to charge me for it. After speaking with the company they agreed it was not ok and they should have been prepared. At first they overcharged me for half an hour then the company refund me. It took them 5 hours to move a two bedroom apartment. The first time I used them it didn't take near as long. This time I got charged almost $1,000. Admittedly, I don't have much experience with professional movers as this is not really a service I've needed in the past. Two Men and a Truck was recommended to me by a friend and I was in a bind, so decided to go ahead and use them. Based on the previous Yelp reviews, it seems like service is hit or miss, but I did have a good experience and would likely use them again in the future. I should also note that from what I understand, this location is under new ownership AND that I wasn't moving a whole house, just a few large pieces of furniture from a house to a storage unit. I called in the middle of the week hoping to get something scheduled for the weekend, but was able to get movers scheduled the very next day. The person handling phone calls was a little short, but overall was able to answer all of my questions and was helpful in getting what I needed taken care of. The movers (Marc C. and Nate M.) accommodated my request of meeting someone else at the pickup location and then getting in touch with me and meeting me at the drop off location. While I can't speak to their work at the pickup location, I was very happy with their communication and their work at the drop off location. They had wrapped and protected a large China cabinet before loading it up and they handled everything with care, making sure to load up the storage unit as I requested. They met the quoted time/cost and made sure I was happy with everything before they loaded up their gear and left. Hopefully these newer reviews are a sign that the new ownership has addressed some of the previous concerns. Regardless, I had a good experience and would likely recommend Two Men and a Truck to others based on that. read more

I hired Two Men and a Truck here in Santa Fe, New Mexico to move just a few pieces of furniture from one room to another and into a garage. The guys who showed up were courteous, but gouged my oak floors with poor moving practices. It was extremely difficult to get ahold of the company to get repairs, but finally have a repair scheduled. The person who is in charge of Santa Fe never answers his phone and his mail box is full so I can not leave a message. Finally, the charge for one hour was $264.59. There were so many add-on charges that I could not believe and was not told before hand. I will never use this company again and I urge no one else to use this company. read more

It has been almost a year since I received the services. Now I have had time to cool myself off from the horrible experience. I can clearly put in a substantial review for what happened. If you are a very nice person, do not use them. They take advantage of kind people. Even when I called up their office to explain what was happening at my home, the receptionist gave my message to the person that she works for in the office. He called me back and used a threatening tone with me that I better pay because of the agreement on the estimate. I told him nicely that I never told his employee that I was not going to pay. When the call was over, he called back again threatening me that I better pay. I don't know where he got that impression. I never said that. Movers know that you are on a budget. This company is not empathetic to the needs of people. Their movers were standing around. When the time that I had money set aside for was coming to a close, I told them to leave everything outside my home. They laughed and thought I was joking. I again told them to leave everything outside and that they could leave. How is that for unprofessional. I have told a worker at another moving company about them and he said that he was not surprised adding that a lot of moving companies do this to their customers.
