The lady inside is always been super nice to me. She's not Southern hospitable like some people obviously expect, but she's never been rude to me at all. I've been coming here for a year to get filtered water. Best price in town. Also cool sunglasses for under five bucks. Brass knickknacks and everything else you don't need it is here. Located between a Safeway and a Rite Aid, this dollar store had incredibly poor air circulation. It was 77 degrees outside, and inside the store it felt like 90. There was a strong chemical smell throughout the store. The aisles all had merchandise on the floor that was partially blocking them, and items were strewn all over the place.The lighting was dim. The cashier said the greeting cards were $1.29 (regular) and $1.79 (musical). I opened six musical cards before I found one that didn't have a totally drained battery. Many of the gift bags were wrinkled and bent. Some of the sunglasses on the racks were missing lenses. The cashier was grumpy, and told the customer in front of me that she should have bought more balloons, because the balloons might be sold out the next time she returned. I found non-slip furniture pads. I couldn't stay in the store long enough to look through more things, because the combination of extreme heat and a chemical odor was too much for me to handle. read more

The have a nice selection of various items, but all of the items in the store range from $1.25 all the way to $10.00 You really need to be sure to double check the price of the items before checking out, otherwise you may be surprised. This dollar store is crap. It's cluttered, disorganized and smells like teenage socks. Normally I use dollar stores to buy cards or gift wrapping bags and tissue. The card selection here is lame and the gift bags are tacky. You may save a few cents buying a balloon here--but it's not worth the odorous assault to your nostrils. In general, there's something beautiful about browsing a dollar store because you can always afford anything in the shop. But there's no need to stop here, even for an ego boost. By far one of the WORST business experiences I have even had! I walked into the store to be greeted by a rude "what do u want!" And later, I was looking at one of their wallets and the lady working there yells "ARE U GONNA BUY THAT WALLET OR WHAT?" And I told her "I'm not sure yet I'm still looking" and then she proceeds to tell the other customers "SHES TRYING TO STEAL THAT WALLET I SAW HER PUT IN IN HER BAG!" Lots of junk crowding in on you in this store. So much so, that you can't push a stroller through. If I could get a stroller in here, my toddler would empty the shelves with his little helping hands, so really it's for the best. Same goods you find in every other "dollar" store, but it's close to my house, so it's where I shop for sunglasses. this place is crammed with stuff. they have a bunch of kinda rough looking signs on the street and in the parking lot, advertising balloons and party supplies. they definitely have a ton of mylar balloons and gift bags. they are slightly cheaper for balloons than diddams over on de anza. they might actually have a better selection of balloons than diddams. the gift bags are very cheap, a displayed large size is labeled 1.25, although i bought one the other day in that was that size, but it was actually 1.99, probably because it was metallic/holographic. but i didn't know the actual price until i asked, otherwise the cashier just rung it up and told me the total with my other items. the gift bag area is a huge mess, tons of their backstock is just piled up on the bottom of the wall, not organized in any way. i've bought some other household stuff here on occasion, like anti-slip pads for furniture. but this place reminds me of a savers or burlington coat factory, you have to sift thru a crapload of shit to find worthwhile stuff, and afterwards, you can feel all burned out on retail for a few days. at least that's how it is for me. it's not even a huge store. like maryanne mentioned, there are a fair amount of inexpensive sunglasses, most were labeled 3.99. since i am never without sunglasses, and i lose them easily, i will probably be back to get some. like yeh said, the prices do vary, and they are not always labeled with the price, so make sure to ask. read more

This place is pretty good considering it's a dollar store... ...but the smell of this place really keeps me from going here. I really can't describe the smell but it's awful. It's also one of the most cramped places I've been in in my life. Dimly lit as well. If you're going to come here, it's best to have an idea of what you want. I came in here for a balloon today. I found a really cute one with a smiling star! And it was even shaped like a star. The lady there then told me how lucky I was because that was the last one. And she told me at least six times... and I said "yeah" and she continued to tell me over and over again "you're so lucky, this is the last one...the last balloon, so lucky eh! lucky last balloon..so lucky! last balloon eh!" lol, I guess it was a little amusing. Anyway, she filled the balloon with helium and tied it to a ribbon. ...buuuut, she didn't tie the string tight enough to the balloon!! An hour or so later when I was walking with the balloon, the balloon flew right off the string!! :'( and that was the lucky last one.... If you're going to get a balloon from here...tighten the knot and even doubleknot it. I was very sad :'( read more

This is a family-owned store next to the Safeway on Miller & Bollinger. This place is great for low prices and bargains, but everything else, such as quality, service, etc. aren't that great. As the old adage goes, "You get what you pay for." Crowded, no A/C, lots of cheap Chinese imports ordered from an L.A. distributor, and very LOW prices (which is why this place still deserves 4 stars). They sell cheap: -clothing -utensils -party items -back-to-school items -crossword puzzles -toys -prank stuff -home decor -keychains, trinkets The store is always operated by only one employee every time you go. It seems like the Vietnamese family that owns the place takes turns rotating shifts. on different days or times or the week. Every time you buy something, the cashier gives you a bag from a Vietnamese restaurant, often from Pho Ga Hung. Also, receipts are hard to read and tiny. Service can be slow. This place is also notorious for selling hundreds of plastic squeaky chickens (on right aisle), where they found their way to causing chaos at the famous Lynbrook High School and even at Meyerholz Elementary. 6-for-a-buck chickens that ceaselessly make noise in classrooms, all from this store... read more

Like many who have come before me, if it was possible to give zero stars I would. This neighborhood dollar store used to be decent but in recent months the customer service (which previously was next to none) has now some how managed to dramatically drop. Any time I entered this store, the clerk would watch me like a hawk, always coming to make sure I didn't steal the $1 shoe laces, or $0.50 key chain or whatever I had happened to be looking at at the time. Recently, as I was searching for an item for a close friend, the clerk had once again come to watch me, asking me what I was looking for. I assumed she came here to be helpful and told her what item I wanted to buy and she told me that they didn't have it. She lied because I found the item moments later however it wasn't exactly what I wanted so I continued perusing. I moved to a different area of the store where she later followed me. She shouted at me for continually looking for the item, stating it wasn't there even though I had found a similar one before. While I had intended to buy the one I found, the lack of professionalism and the complete rudeness of the clerk convinced me to put back the item. As I left the store, I heard her shouting at another patron. She called to me to inquire about the item, which I said I was not purchasing. She then scoffed at me as I exited the store. While I understand that she is making sure her merchandise isn't stolen and that a theft possibly had occurred in the recent past, acting this way towards MANY of your customers will ultimately cause you to lose more money than any theft ever would. I didn't mind when she watched me before but going as far as to shout at me was the final straw. The store itself is decent but the clerk's awful treatment of customers is what makes me say that no one should ever come here. read more

Not typical dollar store where you would want to buy household handy stuffs. But there are other things such as hats,fashion jewellery and a few party favors. Prices range from $1 to $18. I picked some animal key chains,birthday cards,gift boxes and will go back for those fashion earrings. I went back after a couple of months and didn't find what I wanted this time. But heard a mouthful from the lady at counter.She also absolutely lost it when someone else walked out the store without buying anything. She really has lost her mind. I shop here quite often, occasionally to be exact. The store has surprisingly variety of selections (Kitchen, Home, Office, Houseware etc. Everytime I took my daughter here, she always picks a baloon. Not everything will be 1 dollar but when I compare the price to nearby stores or stuff in the Big Stores, this is always cheaper. I shouldn't have, but decided to give the place a second chance and returned today, and it was truly shocking. She swore at me in a foreign language, and then said in English that I was "crazy".
