This Ross has the best selection. Was clean though very packed with clothing. Checkout was friendly and moved along at a steady pace. There was a wait to try clothes, but considering there are 2 entrances and they don't have working/ mandatory sensors to pass through, it makes sense to control the amount of dressing rooms. This is one of the ways they can keep their prices down. Fortunately, there are plenty of stores to return items if items don't fit. It is also understandable that they must check bags. If you are innocent, you should have nothing to fear, right? I love this store. read more

Really nice selection. Got a doggy paw cleaner this time around and a bottle of hand soap. Love the socks and the animal supplies, the cashier was also super sweet and talked to me about the paw cleaner which was really nice of them. Overall a great experience! What can I say, "Ross Dress for Less" is the store for name brand clothing at discounted prices. And this particular store located directly at Saratoga Ave. and W. Campbell Ave. is adjacent to the Westgate Center shopping mall is one of the larger Ross stores in the Bay Area. Parking is fairly easy on any given day compared to the more popular malls such as Valley Fair and Oakridge. I came here on the afternoon of Saturday 10/24/20 after doing some shopping and lunch in other parts of San Jose. Since this was during the COVID-19 pandemic, face coverings were mandatory. However, they were not regulating how many customers are allowed inside. One positive thing that this store has going for it is two entrances. However, the entrance leading into the mall was closed off therefore making the only entrance accessible is to the outdoor parking lot. As I mentioned earlier. this Ross is fairly large with a very respectable amount of mens/womens/childrens apparel, shoes, home/housewares, luggage, jewelry, small electronics, furniture, lamps, sheets/bedding, and snacks. Since this was a bigger location, I was able to score a nice Calvin Klein sweater, a Ralph Lauren polo shirt, and some dress socks. However, this place was very messy and disorganized. It was also difficult to find an employee for help (as many of them were working behind the registers). And with that said and done, it took me nearly 20 minutes just to get rung up as there was well over 10 customers waiting in line. Therefore, I am only giving this "Ross Dress for Less" store an average three star rating. Which is middle of the road depending on which one of their hundreds of locations you plan on visiting. read more

There were alarm tags going off all over the place, so annoying. I had a cart full of clothes to try on, just to find the changing room closed. There are two entrances with registers, but only one was staffed, the floors were dirty. Lots of clothes were hanging in the wrong size section and shoes on shelves with the wrong label, too. I used to shop at the Ross from time to time. It's an okay store because they have a nice array of different things they sell. Most of it is of a closeout or unable to be sold manner. For a one floor store you get a lot more variety than other locations in Santa Clara county. There is something for everyone but at a lower cost. I particularly like the car care and dining section because in that section I am finding some nice things that cost a lot of if you go to Macys or O' Reilly's. Now that is a big win here. Other than that, the only trouble I have is the employees here. They seem like they haven't gotten a good nights sleep in like a million years. There's so many negative reviews about this location because of their employees. But really, do you ever go to Ross for their customer service? No, you go for their low prices. This is a pretty decent sized Ross. Most of their items seem sporadic, so you definitely have to take some time to finding good items. Ross in general is a hit or miss store. I feel like none of the locations really take complete care of their products, but some of the locations are definitely more organized and look nicer than others. This particular location is inside the Westgate Mall and every so often I can find really good deals, mainly on purses and shoes (when I can find my size). Also, I sometimes like to buy housewares and decor here, but it's kind of cheaply made. You really only get a great deal when you find name brand items in good condition. Good is the key word there because, like I said before, I don't think Ross really takes care of their products. Checking out can sometimes take foreverrrrrr because they only open the registers at the mall entrance now. They have four registers by the store entrance on the street, but they don't use them anymore for some reason. read more

This location changed the layout of their store. So now the beauty items are on the other side of the store and the household items are too. So don't be in a hurry if you come here and aren't used to the new changes. The quality of their clothing looks a little better than it has in awhile. Also, they have more interesting and useful items here now at the same low prices. Today I got a sun glass holder for big sunglasses that I've been looking everywhere for with no luck. I found a few here and they were all nice looking and only $3.99 each! There were some sparkly ones and some with a gold floral design. I got a black satin one with red Asian flowers on it with a light red lining inside. I also got a eye shadow kit full of sparkly eye shadow in 36 different colors. Most colors were brown and purple which are colors I wear the most often-:) It was also only $3.99. The last item I got is perfect for me. It's a large plastic cup with a lid and built in straw. It was only $2.99 and it's great for me since a) my cats try to drink out of my cup all them time and they can't do that with this cup, ha! This location had a great Yankee Candle selection (better than the one downtown) but everything was slightly dirty and haphazard. There seemed to be a small amount of organization, but most of it seemed to go by the wayside towards the middle of the day. And as with most Ross' the quality of clothing was fairly poor and not worth the money. There was a huge line and two checkers until a third stepped in to help. It made me curious if they were always this unprepared for the weekend rush. During checking out I was told they didn't have the brown paper to wrap my several (told you they had a good selection) glass candles in (the downtown location usually does) which is minus in my book but my shopping companion found an awesome jacket he loved and we used the same bag so it worked out. As usual, I don't tend to go to Ross for the clothing. I go for the candles. And while this location was fairly bad otherwise, they indeed had the candles :D read more

I didn't find this location nearly as bad as others have. The selection is awesome, especially for a location in a mall. It's kept cleaner than most, though you should still be prepared to fight to get your cart through a couple of the aisles, namely women's shoes. Last time I was there, there were 5 people working. With 2 check stands open, I flew through the line fairly quickly and only waited two or three minutes. However, their shopping cart situation was horrible. I couldn't find one near the outside entrance, so I checked the mall-side entrance and couldn't find one there either. I had to roam around the store for a while before I was able to finally snag one up. The bar that is supposed to keep you from stealing the cart was loose and kept flopping into shelving so I had to hold it while I pushed the cart around. I've been shopping at this Westgate location for 5 or 6 years, and I generally come here when the Sunnyvale Ross has low inventory. I got here around noon, and the store was quite busy. A security guard was making googly eyes at one of the associates, and a supervisor came over to tell him to pay attention to the shoppers entering the store. The selection of sheet sets was great, but only for Queen and King sheet sets - the shelves were full of Nautica, Steve Madden, and Tommy Hilfiger Queen/King sheet sets. I found a Queen sheet set by Nautica for $34.99. I didn't see any Twin or Full sheet sets. The handbags section was poor - just sixteen bags available (mostly Guess and Tommy Hilfiger). The bags were $38.99 and below. The selection of men's wallets was excellent. These wallets (Quiksilver, Nautica, and Tommy Hilfiger) were in good shape and suitable for gift-giving. In contrast, the Sunnyvale Ross often has wallets with lots of scuffs and scratches. I come to this Westgate location to buy myself men's wallets - yes, I sometimes use men's wallets because I have a few rather small handbags, and men's wallets take up very little space. All the men's wallets that I saw were $14.99. The customer service that I've experienced at this store has consisted of employees on the sales floor looking like they don't want to be there and giving blank looks in response to eye contact. There were close to twenty shoppers in line, and three cashiers were working. Mine greeted me, asked me how my day was going so far, and told me to have a good afternoon. Did not see well-known name brands or if I did they look like almost straight off the boat counterfeit labels. This was the second Ross store I had been in and left frustrated. I always find it to be a somewhat daunting task to go to stores like Ross or Marshall's. You really do have to search to find things that you find somewhat decent looking, and more often than not, you walk out empty-handed. I was on the quest to find a new pair of jeans, and after finding anything within my price range at Nordstrom Rack, decided to test my luck at Ross. The store seems to be in complete disarray with not much order to it. I beelined for the rack with the jeans on it, and after some rustling found a pair of decent Perry Ellis jeans for under $30. I headed to the fitting rooms, praised Jesus that they looked decent, and went to the cashier to pay for my purchase. I guess that I just have to approach going to Ross like it's a treasure hunt. If I could give this store a zero I would. Customer service does not exist here. I came in to do a return on a shirt that I didn't even wear. I bought it recently and had the receipt. The asm with the pink hair accused of me wearing the shirt. I work in retail too and I'm also a retail manager and never do we accuse our customers. When i asked to speak to the store manager I was told that he was too busy to come out. The store manager was too busy to take care of his customer. No wonder they have poor reviews on yelp.
