Sign me up We got the bibimbap and the spicy pork, (as well as a sandwich) and both rice dishes were utterly delicious. I LOVE Korean food, and the sauces and spices tasted super legit. Low key mom and pop (mother and son?) Korean/western cafe and diner on Heather, just S of Broadway. Parking is quite horrendous here. Might find something on the side streets. The interior is pretty dated and bare bones. Staff were very friendly. The mom doesn't really speak English. Had to point and use gestures. But I got my order in. The beef bulgogi was nice and tasty. Basically it's home style cooking, so don't expect anything fancy such as a stone bowl. Basically a pile of beef and a portion of rice, with a side of salad. My only complaint is that the portion size was a bit small. Maybe I'll come back for a sandwich at some point. read more

Nice cafe just off Broadway that's great for lunch. There's actually quite a bit of seating, considering how small the space is. The service is good and food comes out pretty quick. Although, it can get busy during lunch! Quite a few people were getting takeout. I've had their bugolgi panini plenty of times and always enjoy it. It comes with a small salad and is the perfect size for lunch. There is plenty of bugolgi inside. Today I opted to also try their bibimbap since I was dining in. The bibimbap came with plenty of veggies and the egg was cooked just enough to have a runny yolk. I like that they provided the sauce bottle, so I could add as much as I wanted. Overall, it was a satisfying lunch. Their prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion. This will continue to be one of my go to lunch spots. read more

Decided to skip the usual Starbucks or Timmy's or McDonald's breakfast and went to this nice spot on a side street. I tried their iced mocha and breakfast sandwich. I enjoy their breakfast sandwich and it is similar to a McDonald's egg McMuffin. I feel it's somewhat healthier just because it's not from McDonald's haha. Iced mocha was great and flavorful. I like sweet coffees on some days. The service was fast around 9am. People come in and out of there. They have a lot of seating and free Wi-Fi as well. The password is posted by the cashier. I believe it's the phone number of the cafe. Can't wait to be back before work and try more of their food items. read more

Amazing little place near VGH! The owner lady is super friendly and accommodating. Plenty of seatings space and there's also free WiFi. You can get everything here from breakfast to lunch/brunch and dinner. I came here twice for breakfast and a late lunch. I ended up getting a spicy pork on rice bowl + fruit juice cleanser. They were both very affordable and surprisingly delicious! I got their 'c' cleanser (with kale and something else, can't remember) - very fresh and light! As for their spicy pork bowl - woah! The aroma was intoxicating and the visual appeal was on point with the contrast colours of red from the meat and bright green from the cilantro. The portion was huge - I ended up splitting it in half for 2 meals. The meat was actually spicy, full of flavours and fresh! This is not a cafe. It is a Korean restaurant. I searched for cafes near by and decided to check this one out. I went inside to order a coffee and the person I ordered from asked if I wanted it for here or to go and I said "I'll have it here" they then waved their hand at me and instructed me to "go to blenz" I was quite shocked by then and walked out of the near empty cafe on to the street. I paused for a moment to collect myself and then went back inside to ask why they were on willing to sell me a cup of coffee. Another employee said "it's because you want it to go, we don't do to go" now remember I had actually ordered it to stay and so I said "could I have it here then?" They then said that if I wanted to have coffee there then I would have to also order food and they seemed very much to want me simply to leave. So I left. The interior looked quite nice, if I had been welcomed in and allowed to buy a cup of coffee I might have come back to this business and tried the food. I enjoy Korean food very much. I'm not sure if I will attempt to support this business again. I'd warn anyone looking for a cafe not to go in there looking for a cup of coffee. read more

I am addicted to their breakfast sandwich! I am not sure what she cooks her eggs in, but my goodness, it is fantastically delicious for what is really a simple humble dish: a slab of melted cheese, generous serving of shaved ham, the folded omelette that she must cook in crack (lol), topped with a slice of tomato, nestled in a lightly toasted English muffin. Simple, but so much better than an Egg McMuffin! I've also had their bibimbap, which was also excellent - tons of perfectly cooked veggies, tender meat, decent rice. The place seems to be a family run place. The people are shy but friendly. Definitely recommend this spot. read more

This cafe serves breakfast & korean food, as well as a few other snacks - pastries, muffins, etc. I've come here a few times when I'm in the area and need a quick snack. So far, I've enjoyed their "Detox B" shake, which consists of grapefruit juice, kale, blueberries and bananas. It's tart and refreshing, I always enjoy this when I'm on the run in the morning. I've also tried their breakfast wrap (avocado, egg, tomatoes, salsa, sour cream & cheese) and it was one of my favorite items, until there was once that I ordered it and the sour cream didn't taste fresh. Had to throw it away. Their bulgogi wrap is just OK.. If you're looking for something with veggies - it's not a good choice. It's pretty much just bulgogi meat and cheese in a wrap. This place is a crossover between a cafe and Korean restaurant. It serves your usual pastries, soups, sandwiches, and paninis but make no mistake - it is their Korean menu that you should come for. Good Korean food is hard to come by and they don't have a huge selection but the dishes they have are the classic comfort foods and of excellent portions. I am a regular lunch client and I always leave full and sometimes a little uncomfortably so! Jap Chae - huge portion. Delicious stir-fry glass noodles comes served with rice on the side! Bulgogi - that is my coworker's go-to dish. Can't get enough of that sweet soy sauce marinated beef. Bimbibap - tasty rice bowl with veggies & beef but not served in traditional hot stone bowl. Sukiyaki - best thing to have if you're under the weather. Big soup bowl full of veggies, meat and noodles. It is very casual, cafe-style - you order at the counter and there isn't a long wait for food. Great lunch spot. read more

Unassuming and relaxed - This cafe brews great coffee and makes very fresh food. The owners evidently put their hearts into this place. I come here for breakfast regularly and I've never had a complaint. They're always friendly and welcoming. We need more local, independent, warm cafes like this in Vancouver! As the name suggest, it's a crossover between Korean and western cafe. They serve pastries, sandwiches, soup but with some popular Korean food items. I had their bulgogi and bibimbap a few times and they are delicious. What I like best, though, is their breakfast wrap made of scramble eggs, avocado, salsa, sour cream, cheese and tomato. It's warm and soft. It doesn't feel heavy at all but it always leave me very full for a few hours. The wait is never long and it's quiet. Great breakfast and lunch spot. I probably would not just go there for a cup of coffee though. There are better choices for coffee. On the other side they do offer some Asian/ Japanese tea. read more

This place is kind of a hidden gem as it's tucked around the corner and mostly attracts the VGH crowd (me being one of them, and also how I found them) so it can get busy especially at lunchtime. It's a friendly family-run place and the ahjussi is always there to greet you, even if you're just walking by. I like their Korean dishes, especially the japchae and classic bibimbap. The bulgogi Panini is also one of my favourites as the Panini is always toasted just right. It just seems like nice comfort food. read more

This is a small family run type café. As others have said it is a cross between a breakfast joint and a Korean restaurant which is fine by me. The staff are pleasant and it is never too busy. The breakfasts classic is $6.45 for two eggs, sliced potato, toast, green salad and a choice of proteins. To me the quality is a step up from the corporate joints nearby. If it is near lunch time I get the sukiyaki or japchae, either hit the spot,the portions are a good size and run at $8.95 each. Mom brings it out to me from the back with a smile.The coffee is good too. I end up here when I have to get a test, check up or visit someone in the VGH area and it is welcome place to go. There is the added feel-goods of supporting a small business and being welcomed back after they get to know you. Went here for lunch. I work in the area and have walked by this place many times, it looked like a coffee (and Japanese?) place or something. I am a big fan of Bulgolgi, so when I walked by one day and noticed the sign had changed to K Cafe and said Bulgolgi I got excited! So I went by and got some. It was good. Nothing out of the ordinary. But good. Decent portion, tasted like Bulgolgi should taste. End of story. They have a Bulgolgi panini which doesn't make sense to me so I skipped it. They also have various coffee drinks and pastries. Will return for more now that I know it's there. read more
