KC saved my wedding dress! I am so incredibly lucky to have found KC when I did. 2.5 weeks before my wedding I picked up my dress from a different seamstress and absolutely hated it. I debated wearing my friends dress because I hated mine so much. I reached out to a number of seamstresses in the area and KC was the only one to offer any help. I came in the next day -first with sad tears and left with happy tears. KC worked her magic! She was so helpful and FAST. KC was able to fix the biggest issue with my dress overnight and was done with the other issues the following week. I'm not sure how she did it but she is amazing and I will never go anywhere else. I have used Kcs creations for a number of items that I have needed altered and all have come out perfect. I was getting married in Jamaica and needed a light dress. I ordered a wedding dress from a foreign website and when it arrived it was nothing like the picture. I called Kcs Creations to help. She was able to completely remake the dress from just the lining. Together her and i came up with ideas to make my dream dress. She even went above and beyond to provide an appropriate carrying case to assure that it does not wrinkle while traveling. She cleaned and steamed it for me when i got back. Now I am pregnant and am waiting to have our "at home reception". We are now going to turn that same dress into a maternity wedding gown. There is no way I could be more pleased with the alterations done for my wedding gown. I brought KC a two part wedding dress; a main gown, and a tulle skirt that would be worn over it during the ceremony. With this, KC needed to alter the main gown, sew in bra pads, add a bustle, take in the top, along with many other added details. The entire ensemble turned out better than I could have ever imagined. I appreciate all the time she put into making my dress look perfect. Anytime we needed to schedule a fitting, she was very flexible with her schedule. With all the stresses of the wedding, I felt at ease knowing my dress was in good hands. I took cushions in to be seemed. 8 weeks later she had nothing done. She was then very rude to me and came up with excuses of why nothing was done. I was made to pay way too much after no work was done after 8 weeks. Finally had to just take my cushions and go somewhere else! Very poor service. read more

KC has the ability to not only fool you with kindness and charm upon first impression but also impress you with her quick turnaround dates for that person that's in a pinch. Her "likability" is incredibly short- lived once you come to learn that she will NOT tolerate being questioned, even in the case where she's pinning you and you're telling her it's so tight you can't breathe! She snaps and tell you that SHE knows best and her fowl mood escalates so quickly, it's alarming! She completely botched both dresses I had taken to her for a family wedding!!!! I had picked them up two days prior to the big event. It was beyond stressful and devastating (not just for me, but my entire family) no longer having something that was wearable! In a sense it was no surprise after telling her numerous times that I did NOT want her to take in the dress where she was INSISTING! I had made it abundantly clear what I needed when I tried on my dresses and she refused to listen, as if the customer is wrong and she is always right! She has a very vindictive way of instilling fear in her customers that disagree with her. The ONLY reason why I even took the terrifying risk of leaving the dresses with her is because I had no one else to alter them with that short of notice, but the whole situation left me feeling very nervous and unsettled. When I came back to pick up my dresses, she handed me one of the two and stated in a very ornery tone "Well, you will never be able to wear this one!!!" after she had literally ruined it! She made it way worse than it was prior to bringing it in! She told me I still had to take it and pay her for her time which was $125 for just that dress alone! As for the other dress, I couldn't even zip it up, it was so tight!!! (Just like I had made known while she was pinning me a couple days prior, but she kept telling me I was wrong and she was right!) She demanded I pay her $275 for both dresses that she completely destroyed- They were better off before I placed them in her hands! It felt criminal what she was doing to me!! I left sobbing with nothing to wear to my family's wedding. I've never experienced such horrendous customer service in my entire life. This is the first bad review I've ever left for someone, but it felt absolutely necessary if it meant saving another person going through the misery she put me through. She is the most ill-tempered, unapproachable, heinous human being and her quality of work matches her rotten character!!!! Not only is KC a riot to work with, but most importantly, she's efficient and meticulous. She came highly recommended from two different friends who have had her alter a variety of pieces. She did not disappoint. My wedding dress had a lot of beading and a lot of detail. Not only were my alterations perfect, but the price couldn't be beat. She made the experience of wedding dress alterations extremely easy and stress-free. I've heard many, many stories of alteration nightmares... I feel a review of this business may, perhaps, stop someone else from frequenting this shop. I did use her services back in July 2021 to downsize a dress for my Moms memorial. She did the job SO quickly and I was impressed!! Here, I thought, I have a seamstress again (after the last one quit her business). So I decided to take my purple wool winter coat to her because it is too big. She pinned it up, told me 2 days to come back. In between I received a call from her, tellin me she was having "issues" with her health. So I waited nearly a week, left her a message telling her I would be by soon to pick up my coat. I showed up, she told me it was not even started. (And the way she flew into the room, laughing, sidling up close to me like she was high or drunk...came into my space, very uncomfortable). She says "I know you left a message...I didn't call you back..." Again I was told a matter of days it would be done. Stupid me showed up again, again I heard it wasn't done...no explanations nor apologies. I'm nonconfrontational, said call me when its done... That was last Wednesday and still no phone call, nothing. Here we are over 2 WEEKS since I dropped off my coat. Her claims of quickly doing the job are obvious nonsense!! After reading some of these other complaints, I'm glad I sent my husband today to pick up or she might have ruined my beautiful coat!! The way she runs her business is totally UNPROFESSIONAL!! How hard is it to pick up a phone and call someone?? I do understand and symphathize with illnesses, but I do NOT understand no communication with a client!! read more

Like the other two people on here and i cant comment on the wedding dress review, i took two Kate Spade dresses to KC she was bubbly and laughing no problem, i do not know how i know how to do these alterations it just comes naturally! so being non confrontational person i decided she was the right person for me, i had been there before with a dress that had been made for me and they told me they could not help me it was so badly made! so as you can see not the first time i had been duped? and i never fight back! i tried on my first dress it zipped up to the waist band but then the zip stuck it was i admit too tight, no problem she said easy fix! ( she did not explain what the fix was) i am a fool i know? so she did a quick scan of it on and left, the second dress another Kate spade was a little large around the waist line she stuck pins in it under the arms and another quick scan and take it off come back in two days ? well pleased i left and my husband was happy we were going to Miami and the we were going to dinner at the Versarce mansion i was ecstatic. I went back two days later and both sides from top to bottom were open and she asked me to out it on? strange i thought why would you open up the bottom that fit perfectly if it was the top that was tight ? well who am i to argue ( a seamstresses daughter that is who ) i went back the third time it zipped up yehhhhhh, nooooooo, looking in the mirror i noticed the bottom of the dress now hung strange slightly baggy ( this was a fitted dress) she had taken the whole of each side out, changed the invisible zipper for a brass one exclaiming that this was all the rage now? i was not entirely unhappy with the zipper it made the dress fit, but when my husband went to zip it up the zip head disappeared inside the dress at the bottom there was a hole the zip was not sewn in at the bottom and the zip was an inch too big? there were various other problems stitching not hand finished loose cotton pattern mismatched, the second dress was worse i can no longer wear it the fabric was cut towards the stitched seam rendering it unwearable, the second seamstress who saw it was upset that she refused to work on it but felt sorry that she could not help. I am just extremely upset and mortified that i did not check yelp first but you live and learn, i am not in the business of making peoples lives bad but this has ruined my vacation and my dress i am very upset. I do not know if you had something taken up like hem it might be ok but major alterations go elsewhere. read more

If you want poor customer service and to wait a month and half for your alteration, this is your place! When I initially dropped off my dress to get altered in June, I did inform her that the wedding was in September. This did not mean for her to take until September to complete the dress. I called several times and although her website says she responds promptly, i left her two voicemails and received a call back a week later. KC expresses that my dress should be ready in two weeks. Two weeks passed and called to find out the dress was STILL not finished and asked for another week. At this point I was worried and asked to visit to see the dress. When I arrived, I was greeted by KC and she immediately showed the dress. She was nowhere close to being done with the dress and indicated that she was having a hard time finding the right color fabric (reminder it has been a month and a half!). When I asked why it was taking a month and a half, she was very rude and said she tried calling which wasn't true. When she was called out on it she got loud and said "well here take the dress then". I did not get my refund of $50 back, but instead was given my dress not completed with fabric that doesn't match my dress. Please don't waste your time or money here! read more

Worst customer service experience I have ever had. Everything with KC started out great and then turned on a dime - had a great experience with her initially and at my fitting. Came to get my dress and the fit wasn't great, needed some adjustments. Not mention, while I was trying it on, she was in the middle of selling her car, which was taking priority over me despite being during business hours. I decided to get my sister's opinion on the fit, paid for the alterations (mistake number 2 - number 1 was coming here in the first place) and took it over to her house. She also noticed the fit issues I wasn't happy with. I decided not to worry too much about it as it was only the first fitting and I'd heard that these can take a couple tries before the fit is right. I called KC the next day to ask about coming back in to adjust the couple of things we noticed. She was immediately extremely defensive, argumentative, snotty, and literally yelled at me. Reader, you obviously don't know me but I am not a confrontational person and am a huge people pleaser, to a fault, so it was already hard for me to call her. That being said, I was not aggressive, yelling, pissed off, whiney, or even upset when I called to ask about the adjustments. For her to react the way she did and so quickly completely blindsided me. I was literally speechless and she took every opportunity to argue, interrupt, and berate me. Finally she agreed to let me bring it in to look at. Towards the end of the conversation she hung up on me. I was astounded, shaking, and had to go to my car to cry - it was that bad. I still have a hard time understanding why she reacted the way she did. A week later, I brought it back in - this time with my sister so I couldn't be bullied as easily. She was much nicer and polite but still terse and disagreeable. She essentially said there wasn't anything she could do to fix the way the dress was hitting me other than add a support band. I decided to take the dress elsewhere and not trust it with her again. The next seamstress examined the dress with me and noted that she had cut all the seam allowance out after altering so there was little she could do to fix it. And also that there is essentially no reason to ever cut the seam allowance out for this very reason.... That was the straw that broke the camels back. Not only had she done a horrible job with the alteration (as I was told by two independent seamstresses), but she had essentially rendered it unnecessarily PERMANENT. It was a complete nightmare and took a third seamstress mostly just to undo what KC had done with what little she could work with. This all ended up costing my double what I originally paid for the alterations and never was an apology or offer of aid with the problem EVER made by her. The absolutely most stressful and worse part of my wedding was dealing with this and all only made worse by her. read more

KC has been doing my alterations for a number of years. It's great to know I can buy something in any size (larger, of course) and KC can make it custom fit. She also has advised me of the types of clothes to buy that will be easier to alter than others. In addition, KC is FUN! I enjoy her on a personal as well as business level. I took my wool sweater that was handmade in Nepal in to be altered. I have to purchase an extra large to fit in my chest. More often than not the arms end up being too long and it is too big around the waist making it look like I have no waist. She was professional and knew exactly what was needed to have the perfect fit, and was very friendly to work with. The cost was what I expected, and plan on going back to have her do any other alterations that I need. I highly recommend taking your garments to her for any alteration needs. read more
