I've taken several dresses to Julie and am always grateful for how quickly she's able to see me and complete the alterations. She's very kind and fair with her pricing. I was initially intimidated by trying to find her location since it's in the basement of Mayfair, but I quickly learned it's by far the easiest place to get to in the mall -- there's covered parking always available right by the door and the stairway down to her is just a few steps inside the entrance. JULIE SAVED ME!! I had a tailor do some alterations for me, but unfortunately he changed the measurements he took and altered my skirt too much. It was too tight and made me look like a bimbo. It took me weeks to connect with him the first time, so did not want to contact him again. Julie was able to take out each of the seams a little so that I had a bit more breathing room. Yeah!! I got married in Milwaukee and live in Seattle. My wedding dress, of course, lived in Milwaukee. Due to various odd circumstances, I was only going to be in the area for a handful of days a few weeks from the wedding, and didn't know exactly when that would be until just before the trip. As a result, I had to try to schedule a last-minute appointment to have my dressed fitted and leave enough time for alterations. I was embarrassed to call on such short notice, but Julie reassuringly responded "no problem" and scheduled me for the next day. Her work was impeccable (hem of seven or so very detailed layers and a bustle -- with an extra loop and button for good measure!), fast, and very reasonably priced. This, combined with her friendly nature, made for an exceptional experience. I was confident leaving this important garment in her hands! As another reviewer mentioned, her shop can be a bit difficult to locate in the ground level of Mayfair Mall -- worth it. read more

I live in Colorado, my mom lives in Nevada. My wedding dress is my mother's wedding dress, and so I was having alterations done in Nevada. My wedding is taking place in Wisconsin. Don't worry about it. I had a horrible experience with the shop I went to in Nevada for alterations to my dress. It was... really bad. And I was definitely needing to bring the dress to Wisconsin sooner than I could get it fixed. So I did. And I found Julie's. And I am so glad I did. She was wonderful. She did everything that needed to be done, she fixed all the problems. And she charged so much less than the place that messed up all the things. Julie's shop is located in the basement of Mayfair Mall, in the same area as the public safety office. It's a truly hidden gem. Julie does absolutely amazing work at an incredibly reasonable price. Do not use Julie. Two weeks ago my fiance took her wedding dress to Julie for our wedding which is one month from today. Julie gave my girlfriend a price of $195 to do the alterations . Last night, the day before her fitting julie called to say it would be $100 MORE! Only a 50% increase and 2 weeks wasted. My fiance even offered to pay $40 more to meet in the middle so she wouldn't have to find another tailor. Julie refused... horrible business person and a great game of bait and switch....Stay away!!! read more

I've used Julie two times now, once for hemming a few pairs of pants and once to do some MAJOR MAJOR alterations on a bridesmaid dress. Both times, I was extremely pleased with her work. Everything was done perfectly and fit just right. Julie interacts with her customers in a professional but genuinely kind manner. I needed a new zipper for my favorite duffle coat. Julie quoted 30 days which was ok under the circumstances but I would otherwise find it pretty long for just a heazy duty zipper. Her price was good and she even repaired a rip in the fabric where the old zipper was. She didn't call me when the work was done which is a strike but the result was top-notch work at a reasonable price. She and her associate are very friendly and that made look forward to seeing her. read more

I dropped off two brand new pairs of The Limited jeans for Julie to hem. She pinned them up wrote me a receipt two months ago, but when I went back to pick them up she said "she never got them"! That I must have them at home! I was offended and upset. I have a picture of my jeans in her dressing room and the receipt from the store that I paid for them but she refuses to reimburse me for my jeans that "are not there". I have been going to Julie for over 3 years and was appalled that she would treat me with such disdain and not even offer some compensation for the loss of my jeans. read more

Last minute alterations that I needed 1.5 weeks before a wedding, was completed in just a few days! I was in panic mode, as I am 6 1/2 months pregnant and my previous seamstress was ill.
