    K-Original Tteokbokki - Spicy

This place used to be in the Revolving Kitchen, now it's moved a few doors down next to the old Buckle store. The owner is so kind and the place looks really good so far. The menu is fairly simple, offering a lot of fried options. I've been twice so far. The bowls with the bulgogi and spicy pork are quite delicious. It has that street food Americanized flavor with Korean flavors too. I really loved the combination of the Japchae and the cabbage salad in the bowls. The kimchi here is very tasty; as well as the tteokbokki. Not a super huge fan of the breading of the fried chicken pieces, but it was cooked perfectly. Also wished they would've tossed the chicken in the sauce vs squeezing it on top. Food comes out fast, service is great, and the food is tasty. Great spot for a quick lunch.

First time in Texas and came straight to this place my boyfriend recommended! My boyfriend travels for work and he told me I had to try this spot! The place is super nice and clean, I love the vibe here! The service is great!! 10/10. I ordered some drinks and let me say they came out perfect! So to eat I ordered the Tokatsu Chicken Cup Bop which comes with rice, glass noodles (which are amazing!!) and fresh cabbage salad. I definitely give this dish a 10/10! My boyfriend ordered the Bulgogui Fries with spicy mayo which came out delicious! I've never tried something like this before and let me tell you it's chefs kiss!. If I lived out here in Texas I'd definitely be a regular!!

The staff was genuinely friendly and attentive, which immediately set a positive tone for the experience. The menu offered a great variety with plenty of options, and I really appreciated that items were clearly marked to indicate whether they contained raw fish. That's a thoughtful touch that makes the menu more approachable for guests who may be new to sushi or prefer cooked options. Presentation-wise, the rolls looked fantastic and were plated beautifully. The flavors were good as well. However, the one thing that held the experience back for me was the portion size of the rolls. Some of them were extremely large--my Rock & Roll was so big that fitting a single piece comfortably in my mouth was a challenge. Sushi is traditionally meant to be eaten in one bite to enjoy the balance of rice, fish, and fillings. When the pieces get too large, it can throw off that balance and make the eating experience a bit messy. I also found the eel sauce to be unusually thick--almost molasses-like--which didn't quite have the smooth, glossy texture I typically enjoy. Overall, it's still a solid spot worth trying, especially if you enjoy larger rolls and generous portions. For me personally, the size of the rolls disrupted the balance I look for in sushi, so it may not become my regular spot--but others may really enjoy it.

For a Saturday the place was filled with patrons which is always a good sign. Parking was a little crap but there's not much we can do about that. Its located inside a small strip mall of businesses. There is ample parking across the street but that does require walking is almost 100 degree heat. We were seated right away. For our table we ordered the sashimi bento box which came with fresh slices of salmon, tuna and white fish. The portions were extremely generous as they also included salad, miso soup, tempura with veggies, and a double order of california rolls. Thats definitely a Texan sized meal. We also ordered a octopus roll. This came with a large portion of ginger and wassabi too. Food was delicious, pricing wise even more competitive to Carrollton and we were in the vicinity so it was extremely convenient to nearby attractions, including the downtown McKinney historical district. Highly recommended!

It is so pretty on the inside, with the traditional Japanese flair. They have a great menu with an extensive selection rolls. The prices are great and affordable. The fish is divinely fresh, along with everything else that was served. The service was excellent. We have found our go-to sushi spot and will return to try other options from their menu.

The biggest issue for us was the ordering system. Everyone has to scan a QR code, place their own order, and enter their phone number. For a large group, this became very confusing because when the food came out, there was no clear way to tell who ordered what. We spent a lot of time trying to figure out which dishes belonged to each person. If you're coming with a big party, I definitely recommend making a list of everyone's orders ahead of time so it's easier to organize when the food arrives. The food itself was extremely spicy. Most of the BBQ items -- seafood, chicken, beef, and pork -- seemed to have the same heavy cumin and spicy seasoning, so the flavors started tasting very similar. Personally, that wasn't for us. However, the soy sauce fried rice and the cold noodles were really good and stood out the most from the meal. The service was good overall, although communication was a little difficult at times because it was hard to understand the staff's accents. The restaurant itself was clean and well kept. I think this place may work much better for smaller groups, but for our large party it was stressful and the food flavors were too repetitive for our taste. Unfortunately, it's probably not somewhere we would return to. Also they added 25% tip mandatory without mentioning it anywhere ; It was an experience though

Expect a walk-up counter where you place an order and take a number if you plan to stay. I've read that many are irritated that their food is served in styrofoam To-Go containers. It's true! My guess is that this allows them to keep costs down. They offer a delicious menu with a wide variety of combinations, both sushi and hibachi. For the most part, the food is made to order, and the sides like rice, noodles & vegetables are pre-made. Sauces are made in-house, each one has a different level of heat, and I have to admit they are addictive lol. We ordered the Steak & Shrimp Hibachi, as well as the Beef Bibimbap = $31.00. The portion size was generous, the food arrived hot, and the seasoning was delicious! They were patient with us, kind enough to explain unique sauces and foods that was new to us.
