Great atmosphere and service, but oversized rolls missed the mark for me From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The staff was genuinely friendly and attentive, which immediately set a positive tone for the experience. The menu offered a great variety with plenty of options, and I really appreciated that items were clearly marked to indicate whether they contained raw fish. That's a thoughtful touch that makes the menu more approachable for guests who may be new to sushi or prefer cooked options. Presentation-wise, the rolls looked fantastic and were plated beautifully. The flavors were good as well. However, the one thing that held the experience back for me was the portion size of the rolls. Some of them were extremely large--my Rock & Roll was so big that fitting a single piece comfortably in my mouth was a challenge. Sushi is traditionally meant to be eaten in one bite to enjoy the balance of rice, fish, and fillings. When the pieces get too large, it can throw off that balance and make the eating experience a bit messy. I also found the eel sauce to be unusually thick--almost molasses-like--which didn't quite have the smooth, glossy texture I typically enjoy. Overall, it's still a solid spot worth trying, especially if you enjoy larger rolls and generous portions. This place is a family favorite!!! Hint- there are 2 sudes to the sushi menu. We tried The Dragon, favorite Rainbow roll and Kashi 2, all were delicious, fresh and flavorful . The sushi menu was quite impressive and so was their Korean food options. I was craving sushi so I opted for this but will come back to try their Galbi at some point as the pictures looked soooo appetizing. I ordered the smoked salmon nigiri (2pcs) and the salmon lover (8pcs). Both were really delicious and the salmon tasted fresh. My husband ordered the yellowtail scallion roll (8pcs), and he thought it was pretty good as well. Overall, the food and ambiance were great. Return or not return? No chance of returning. Very pleasant staff, friendly, accommodating all with a kind of odd social vibe, but that's where it ends. My daughter who knows sushi summarized it best. "Dad, this is really not good." Fish cut too thick, at times chewy, and just lacked the delicate nature of what sushi should be. The fish quality was sorely lacking and it's never a good sign when you're spitting out pieces of fish. I'm not going to tell you how I'm feeling 2 hours later. I really want them to succeed, but this is a place where you go to get filled up and not much more. Really did not enjoy this and wanted to leave as soon as possible, and now understanding why. My cousin recommended this place since she knows we both love sushi. She recommended the Mexican Roll, and Jae's #2. We arrived and the parking lot was FULL! That's a good sign of you ask me. We walked in and the decor, lighting, and music were spot on. The hostess was very friendly and upbeat and sat as rather quickly. We got a nice spot where I could see the whole restaurant and all the hustle and bustle. We ordered what my cousin recommended, as well as Yakuza and Steamed Gyoza as the appetizer. After about 10 minutes of ordering, our Gyoza came out. It was so fresh and each bite was full of flavor. Definitely recommend. Then Jae's #2 arrived and it was so good, it's a rice less sushi roll but had a awesome crunchy exterior, would also recommend. Then the Mexican Roll and Yakuza came out, the Mexican Roll has smoked salmon and Serrano pepper slices on top with a sauce, it was a fresh spicy flavor, very good! And for the Yakuza, it had all kinds of goodness on it, I can't even remember the specifics to list it, but it was delightful!! By the end of our visit we were both full and happy, definitely coming back to try more awesome rolls and explore the menu more. read more

Stopped by here yesterday for a going away dinner with a friend. All I can say is, "Best decision EVER". We ordered four rolls, two were on the specials menu and two from the regular menu. All of them were amazing. My friend and I agreed the one ( in the photos w/o crunchy crumbles on top ) was the best of the four. Everyone there was very friendly, offering suggestions on rolls as well as beers ( try the dry dark beer ). The service was outstanding. We both were impressed with everything. Super impressed with this place! Love the aesthetics. Very clean and updated. Came on a Saturday night and it was crazy packed! We had the chicken katsu curry, it was incredible when comparing to other restaurants we love it at (it's our go-to dish). The bibimbap bowl had a great presentation and was very good. The avocado bomb was different from most places we go to, yet very good. And the sushi burrito was awesome! Happy to know about a great restaurant in the area as there aren't too many. read more

Flavors were on point! We started off with spicy edamame and a tempura crunch roll which both were very good. I had the Japanese chicken Katsu Curry which was spot on with Flavor! My son had the udon soup which he enjoyed. My daughter had the udon noodles and liked the mix of chicken and veggies. My wife had a "hot bowl" with Bulgogi that was packed with veggies! The service was great, we had a nice warm welcome, server came to our table and welcomed us as soon as we sat down and kept checking up on us throughout our meal. Today was my husband's birthday. We had a party of three. Our waitress took our order, we never saw her again. Our salads came at the same time. Our son's dinner arrived about 15 minutes later. My Husband's entree about 20 minted after. My dinner came about thirty minutes after my husband's. I've never in all of my life been served dinner so randomly. By the time my dinner arrived our son and my husband had already finished eating. It took everything in me to keep my composure! The food wasn't the best we've had here before. Food quality was way below my expectations. Rice contained too much moisture, almost it tasted like rice cake. Nigiri needs proper balance between Neta(fish) and shari(rice) but they had too much rice. Ikura (samoln roe) tasted not fresh. It is supposed to pop in my mouth but these were extremely saggy. I have been to Koshi twice over the last two years and it was a great experience both times. The staff checked on me multiple time throughout my dining and there were at least 3 employees that thanked me for coming on my way out. I ordered a glass of their Riesling, the steamed Shumai, edamame, and the Lunch Special Combo C which comes with 5pc chef's choice nigiri, a roll of your choosing (I chose the Spicy Salmon Roll), and miso soup or the house salad. The Riesling was OK, better the last time I came but still good for the price. The Shumai was flavorful but the texture was a little too doughy for me. The nigiri and roll were amazing! The texture and flavor are always a 10/10 there. The only thing I didn't love was that the Salmon Nigiri was a bit too chewy for my liking. Finally, the house salad, which never disappoints. My real rating is a 4.5/5 but it wouldn't allow me to do a 0.5. Overall, would dine in again and again. Love the atmosphere, food, and staff. Can't say enough great thing! read more
