We called Mom's Iron Wok to confirm if they had a dish and the lady who picked up was super nice. The staff were all very friendly. The dishes I most enjoyed were the Chives and Tofu (savory and tofu cooked perfectly) along with the Shrimp and Eggs (it looked like a dozen eggs were tossed in with the shrimps!). I didn't care for the Seafood Tofu as it was too gelatinous and the Dry Braised Fish were too small (two tiny fish) and didn't keep their fried texture because there was too much sauce and veggies.

My husband and I would drive to Plano to fulfill our Schezwan cravings. We no longer need to make that drive since this local spot serves legit Schezwan cuisine. Tried the fish filets in chili oil, crisy pork intenstine dry pot, braised pork and chinese broccoli. The fish dish is a definite must have. The broth provides a numbing spicy kick with a wonderful flavor. If you like a fire kick in your mouth, the dry pot is the way to go. My husband loves super spicy food so this dish was made for him. They also dish a great job with prepping the intenstines where it did not have the taste that can usually be off putting to most. The braised pork had a tasty sauce and creamy quail eggs mixed in. I think the pork could have spent a little more time braising as the meat was not as tender as other braised pork dishes ive had. The chinese broccoli was also wonderful. It was perfectly blanched where the stems had a nice crisp bite and not overly soggy. They also split up the stems from the leafy greens for those that prefer the leafy greens over the stems. Lastly the portions are family style Texas size at an affordable price. Definitely coming back to try all the other dishes.

    Four different entrees.

The decor was simplistic, but cool. The restaurant is small but cosy. All the tables were taken when we walked in, the place was buzzing, but we got our table within less than 10 minutes. Rating: 9 out of 10 Food: everything I tried here was easily a 9 or a 10 out of 10! What we tried: - Holy Cow! Bo Ne - sizzling hot tenderloin on a hot plate served with a sunny side up egg, liver pate, salad and bread. Steak was juicy and tasty, liver pate was creamy, salad was the perfect combination of slightly sweet and savory. Combining all the ingredients together inside the baguette made the perfect sandwich! 9 out of 10 (almost a 9.5). - The Wok - flavorful Jasmine Rice wok fried with Prawns, Egg, Garlic and Spring Onions. Prawns were well cooked, crispy and very tasty, rice was flavorful, and the egg was cooked to perfection . 9 out of 10. Rating: 9 out of 10 Customer Service: customer service was good. We got our table fast, our food was brought out promptly and we were attended to regularly, without being overbearing. Rating: 9 out of 10

All the food had amazing flavors so I would recommend everything. My only note was the beef in the noodles was slightly chewy so I would suggest another protein option. The service was great. Our server was patient with us while answering our questions on the menu and knowing the menu well enough to recommend us things that suited our palettes. The restaurant is spacious with many tables to accommodate different size parties so it did not take long for us to get seated.

We ordered: Cumin Lamb (side: fried rice); Singapore Noodle Combination (chicken/shrimp/beef); Eggplant w/ Garlic Sauce (side: steamed rice); Okra w/ Giant Oyster Mushroom (side: steamed rice); and Xao Long Bao (6 pcs). WOW! The braised okra with giant oyster mushroom positively SURPRISED and leap frogged to the top of my preferred vegetable GOTOs...The cumin lamb was SO tender and VERY flavorful. One of the best preparations yet. The Singapore noodle combo and Xao Long Bao did not disappoint... More importantly, the service we received was attentive, courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt. Sadly, the eggplant with garlic sauce is the ONLY reason a star is withheld for this review...it detracted from traditional Chinese style; notes of garlic eviscerated by the chef's sweetening to satisfy an American palette...Why fix something that's unbroken?...I get it. The restaurant has to cater to its customers who populate this mix use (business/lease residential) area at the NW corner of Alma and Hwy 121, but doesn't that limit its draw? Guess we'll just have to head either further south on Central (HWY 75) to the Legacy & Spring Creek areas or further west to the Preston and Warren Pkwy Frisco TX area to satisfy our authentic Chinese cuisine food cravings.

I really want a bang bang shrimp and today guess what I ordered??? you got it bang bang shrimp!!! and it came out first before the other entrée which was veggie fried rice. My bill is about $27 and that's fine because I'm the main character of the story and every grain of rice was worth it. Perfect place for a self-care day that I stumbled across. He offered suggestions and told us if there was anything we did not like to let him know. We had a lot of different things. The Red Devil Beef was super flavorful and like nothing I had before. It was a spicy but doable and full of yum. We also had the beef flat noodle, black bean chicken garlic, rangoons and green beans. When I say everything was cooked perfectly I mean everything. When I started writing the review I had it as 4 stars. I am often hesitant on giving a 5 on my first visit. Due to Ty taking personal accountability and catering to make everything just right I felt the 5 was well deserved. My only feedback is I felt the prices were just a little higher than expected. It was not ridiculous and maybe it is inflation. Regardless their food is good.
