I took my goldendoodle here for the first time for a groom and bath. They asked if I wanted a short trim and teddy bear face cut, I agreed with it still being hot outside. When I picked him up, I was in such shock because he was shaved almost to the skin and was not cut evenly. It was choppy to say the least. I have never been upset about a dogs haircut, until now. Poor guy is completely bald on his stomach and is itching from the short shaved hair with random longer hairs that they missed. I paid before I saw him because I thought what is the worst that could happen. I had no idea that they would have exceeded in doing more terrible than I could have imagined. I believe in tipping generously, coming from a service industry. I ignored my gut to see the pup first before paying since I was in a rush to run back home for another work meeting. I was speechless when they brought him out. He was unrecognizable and I was so upset, I didn't even know what to say. I called after calming down for 5 min in the car with him. They didn't answer. They did call me back the next morning. The girl who was on the phone was quietly listening to my concerns and disappointment. The woman who groomed him was in the background and told me that I was exaggerating and that I could bring him to "fix him". He is already bald, why would I let them cut anymore hair off of him. I told them that I would at the very least expect my $20 tip to be returned and would appreciate a refund of some sorts for the bad experience. The women in the background loudly commented that I should just find another groomer and dismissed my concerns of how bad he looked, his discomfort and the risk of sunburn that he now has. They said they would call me back about giving me my tip back but never did. Not surprised. I'm sad to say that as much as I hate to write negative reviews, I feel like I have a responsibility to share the poor customer service and lack of thoughtfulness they put into their job. Would love other recommendations to a skilled and friendly groomer. read more

I have two chow's that are not the most easy to bath if you know what I'm saying. They only let a handful of people to be standing next to, let alone would want to be pet or touched by. My dogs were licking the staff when I first dropped off and even more so when I went to pick up. I decided to try this groomer out based on reviews and after one too many bad experiences at PetSmart grooming. My dog Asali had the full spa experience for $62 (I was paying $58 for groom and nails at PetSmart) and the package included so many add ons like a facial, paw balm, nail grind, teeth, etc. She looks so good - I am so impressed! My shihpoo had to be completely shaved down because she did have some matted areas but she still looks super cute and they shaved her evenly and smoothly. I have had Shit-zhu's for 40 years and have always had them professional groomed. I took my two dogs in for grooming and when I picked them up they had their ears shaved naked. They both look horrible. I realize that they both had a few matts in their ears, but have never had their ears shaved. A professional groomer should dematt the ears. NO groomer has ever done this before on my dogs. Even if they cut some out - they would have looked a lot better than they do now. They both look horrible and will take a long time for their ears to grow back. Very disappointed in their services! read more

My dog is not the easiest to groom and I don't have very high expectations because of that. The guy that groomed my dog was able to handle him well and actually complete the service. I have given this place more than a week to respond, and the owner has failed at doing so. I had dropped off my two dogs to be taken care of, and paid extra for the DE shedding package, so I left to get my truck professionally cleaned since I assumed my dogs would be groomed properly. Once I had retrieved my dogs, we walked past their standing floor fan, a ton of hair blew off my husky. I said that wasn't cool, so they took him back for 10 seconds and lightly blew him off again. On the ride home, (it was a nice day for no AC), my truck became a snowglobe with all the hair flying around. I called to complain, and was offered $10 returned to my card. The amount of hair I pulled off my dog that same night made no sense as they clearly did not do their job. I was referred to this place by a good friend, and will never use this place again. If you have big dogs that shed, DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. Owner still has not called me back. read more

Today I took my dog for the second time and I can't tell you how impressed I am with this business. They're professional and very friendly. They remembered my dog from last time which made me extremely happy. Harli is a Aussie mix and has very long hair on her back legs both times they've done a great job in trimming and brushing it out as it gets matted sometimes. We've been going here for over 8 years and I have to say over the last few years that the new owners have taken over it's just not the same. I've moved out of the immediate area and still was bringing my dog to them, but everything has been going down hill since the new owner took over. From the very beginning after making an appointment I was told that it was cancelled when no one from my family would of cancelled it they made it work, but not after I was very upset. I brought another dog there and they weren't able to handle her! Now their website to book appointments have been down for the last few weeks, and when I called to make an appointment last week they got the day wrong when I asked for a Saturday appointment and was booked on a Friday, but didn't realized it until I received a reminder by email. When I tried to email them back it was returned to me as not delivered. Then I called this morning and left a pretty frustrated message as I've been trying to get my dog in to them for the last few weeks then called back again a few hours later and not one phone call back. Pretty Frustrated and disappointed they wouldn't have the common courtesy to return my phone call. Now I'll be in the market for a new groomer. I hope they don't treat other long time customer the same way they have treated me. I would think they would care more since there are a few groomers within a block of them. read more

We live in Surprise but still take our pets to PL in Mesa. We have a Cockapoo that is a challenge to work with, only because he's withdrawn in nature. I've taken him to other groomers and they literally told me not to bring him back. PL has been grooming him for years now and they do a great job consistently. We are taken him to another groomer next week and she is going to scissor cut him to try to get his hair grow back right..
