Strange experience here. They require a credit card to reserve the appointment and I was on time but the stylist was not. Stayed for an extra 20ish minutes and my eyebrows weren't even dyed properly. I scheduled for a lash lift because I have very straight lashes. My experience was fortunately not bad, Kay was very kind and made me feel comfortable. The reason why I'm leaving a review though is to mention that the experience wasn't what I'd hope for. Being naïve with my first ever lash lift, I paid for my session and tipped. I'm sitting in my car trying to feel myself and these new lifted lashes, but all I could see was black residue from products she used. My lashes were also clearly unevenly curled which was unfortunate. I feel like Kay was not taking care of me, assisting other people while it was seconds from removing product from my lashes. I was never in a private room like the other clients, but sat in the main room where people entered and left the building. I'm not sure If I'll be coming back, but I'm desperately looking for a reliable place in Columbus still. Also I wanted to mention that she did tell me that if I called within the next week I could get them redone, but this was only if they had visibly fallen. As much as I hoped they would fall a little so I could get them redone, the lashes stay intact for the most part! It was the experience during and the results that really bummed me out! read more

Just had a full lash extension appointment with Lexi. She removed old lashes from another salon (that looked awful) & applied a new set with meticulous care & attention to detail. I've had extensions on & off for years & can confidently say that this set is one of the best I've had. She listened to me & helped me get the right lashes for my eyes versus what I had previously from a different salon. I think she got just about every single lash on my eyes as well which is so impressive! Highly recommend. Just be prepared to stay for 3 hours if you want a great hybrid set. this is my first time ever getting an eyebrow lamination, and i had done research to see how to prep. as I am on retinoid I knew I needed to stop using it a couple days prior, I made sure to only apply my retinoid on the lower half of my face (starting below my under eyes) for a couple days before the appointment. other than that, my skin care routine does not involve any other acids or harsh products. if you have ever been in retinoid, you know that the rest of your skincare routine should just be a simple moisturizer and sunscreen. at first I was very happy with my brow lamination and tint, the girl doing my brows are very nice, asked me questions, and informed me about the process along the way. my eyebrows turned out exactly as I had hoped for until I woke up the next day and noticed my skin around my brows had been chemically burned. googling to see if this was normal or cause for concern, I had learned that most salons do not recommend waxing after a brow lamination as the skin is extremely sensitive and waxing can irritate it further. unfortunately I had trusted the woman doing my brows to know what she was doing, even though part of me was confused when she mentioned wax. if you do visit k manley studios for a brow lamination and tint, i recommend you speak up and DECLINE the eyebrow wax. it seems the best route is to get your eyebrows done a couple days prior to the lamination. although I do like my brows, the fact that I have to cover up around my brows with concealer to hide the scabs completely defeats the purpose of the time saving brow lamination. I do not think I would go there again, but I do recommend others to go there *if* and only IF they specify to their technician they do not want a wax after the lamination and tint. read more

2ND UPDATE: for the first time I got my lashes done, they literally CHIPPED off in the first 24 hours (without me getting them wet or anything whatsoever) And a lot of them even fell out when I got them done by you, kay. We found out that they were starting to come out because of the hot showers I take...? BUT that didn't happen when I had gotten them done by someone else. The reason for me calling back and asking them to be redone is because you had actually told me "we can use you as a lash model and do them for you every couple of weeks"....???? I visited Key for my eyebrows. I just got home and saw what she did to me. In the room was so dark so I really didn't see how she did my eyebrows. I'm doing my eyebrows since I was a teenager I'm 31 years old now and this was the worst experience that I have ever had in my life. She made a hole in one of my eyebrows and left hairs between them. And the shape is also awful. And even though she knew what she did she still charge me. The job she did was so much unprofessional. My 1 year old baby would do better job. I had booked a lash lift and tint with Kay (specified during online booking) but on the day of the service, Torrey (sp?) worked on my lashes. Torrey was really helpful and kind and took the time to explain each step with me since it was the first time I had the service. The salon was empty that early in the morning, mid week, so it was a pretty relaxing experience. I'd highly recommend K Manley for a lash lift and tint. Prices seem pretty comparable to other places around Columbus. The reason for the 4-star is because the booking was misleading, and who actually ended up performing the service, but in no way is that a reflection of Torrey's skill. Needed a new lash lift place as the last place I went to (won't mention name) fried my lashes. In all fairness, they offered to do it again in a few months once it grew out, but once again, they fried my lashes! For anyone who's ever had a bad lash lift experience, you know what I'm talking about. And, it takes forever to grow out so it's not a simple fix. This is the part where Kay comes in. Appt was easy to do online. Stepping into her studio, you just felt immediately at calm. Had an allergic reaction to lash extensions that left my eyes swollen and oozing. Left a message on Sunday, called on Monday again because they didn't call me back. Couldn't fit me in on Monday evening even though I said it was painful. Booked for Tuesday after work. At the appointment, I asked why I didn't get an allergy test when I mentioned I'd had a small reaction after the first set of lashes, I was told allergic reactions get worse over time (which seems a good reason for a patch test before the service started). After the removal which went well, it wasn't communicated to her that I had been told the removal would be complimentary, leaving us both embarassed. This is a very expensive service to go so badly wrong, and then be handled with such poor customer care was unusual, leading to this review. read more

I expected a little conversation or consultation about my skin etc but I think the products used/facial is meant to be general so I guess it wasn't needed but it was decent for the experience. My lashes literally go straight down (sometimes get in the way when looking through binoculars or a microscope) but Kay helped a girl out with a lash lift and tint. Arrived for my 4 o'clock appointment at 3:55 to find the front door lock and the lights off. I tried to call the spa but I was sent straight to voicemail, solidifying that they were in fact closed. While I understand sometimes things happen and businesses will need to close or cancel last minute no one attempted to reach out prior to my appointment to let me know they would be closed or need to reschedule. Jennie made me feel comfortable and really took her time to make sure everything was done right. I had a full set of lash extensions and henna brows done by Kay. Everything was so clean and professionally set up, and they followed all COVID protocols. But the best part was how patient, careful, and kind Kay was with her work. My brows and especially my lashes looked so natural and fluffy! The person who did it and all employees were nice enough, but there are a few important things that I need to point out... 1) Do not book a custom facial. It is NOT a custom facial. Upon arriving they said, "the custom facial is a dermaplane, is that ok?" What am I supposed to say at that point? If I wanted a dermaplane, I would have booked that service. So NO CUSTOM FACIAL. 2) the Custom Facial on the website says 75 minutes. Then when you book it actually says 60 minutes. That is problematic to start. But then the actual service was barely 45 minutes. Same price - but no where near the length advertised, anywhere. 3) I left and still had mask on my face. She didn't wash my face to begin with (still had eye makeup on when I left) and then didn't even wash it at the end (still had mask all over when I left). 4) They left the florescent light on the entire time. No music. Bright room. And the magnifier with the bright lights used to unclog pores (which they did not do) was sitting immediately above my face the ENTIRE TIME. Even when I sat by myself for a 10 minute mask. The brightest light was just sitting above my eyes as I tried to relax. 5) They do not have you disrobe. I laid there, no blanket, no warming bed, no paraffin wax, bra and shirt ON for the entire service. I have had dozens of facials in my life at all different establishments and never experienced this. Overall, I not only felt duped into spending more for less, but it was a lackluster quality and a poor spa experience. Will never go back here. read more
