I'm here for my monthly mani-pedi. I've been coming here since pre Covid, before they moved to this smaller location. It may be smaller, but the services remain large. Different technicians have serviced me, but mostly it's Linda who helps me. Of course there is a language barrier, but that doesn't stop the professionalism and care from shining through. This is a multi- faceted salon: hair, nails, eyebrows, lashes and I'm hoping they start doing facials. While I don't go there to get my hair styled or cut, I do see the ladies who walk out with a prideful swag, swinging their hair back and forth. Since I come regularly, Linda and staff know exactly why I'm there. No fuss. No muss. The price for a regular mani- pedi, for me, is $31-$35, maybe a little higher on the weekends. Of course, I tip. I used to be a regular customer at this salon. However, my last visit was disappointing. Before my appointment, I had washed my hair and asked the stylist if it needed rewashing or if cutting it as is would be fine. The stylist assured me it was okay to proceed without rewashing. Initially, the cut seemed fine, but l noticed the uneven results. Despite not being overly particular about my hair, the noticeable unevenness was concerning. I don't think he was the owner or the older gentleman, he was the younger one. read more

This is the 3rd time we've been to this salon....first time, it was good. My daughter & I went to get our hair cut and both guys that did our hair did a good job. The second time, my daughter got the same guy as the first, and he did a good job, but the guy who did mine, did not do a good job, at all. He didn't ruin my hair, but it wasn't anything like I asked for. I chalked it up to maybe he was having an off day so figured I'd give one more chance. Fast forward to today - I made an appointment in advance, told whoever answered the phone that we both needed cuts and also to have our hair styled for an event for later in the day. When we got to the salon, the guy who checked us in not only was not very friendly, but also stated that he didn't have time to do our hair for the event, only had time to curl it. We weren't even asking for anything elaborate or crazy, and if it hadn't been for the fact that I didn't have time to go elsewhere for cut and style, I would have walked right out. He did both my child's hair and mine. I clearly told him to please be gentle with my child's hair as she is sensitive to having her hair brushed hard. He not only ignored that request, but he also burned my child's ear when he was drying her hair. He barely cut any of her hair to top it all off. When he got to me, I specifically told him to cut off 1.5-2 inches of my hair and give it long layers. He completely ignored that request and barely took anything off. Not only that, I'm not exactly thrilled with how he styled my hair either, but at that point, I just wanted to pay and get the hell out of there. We thought we found a good salon that actually cares about covid precautions but I cannot ignore the fact that the way they treated our hair this time, and also last time (for me at least), it's not worth it to waste money only to have to go elsewhere now for them to fix it. Sadly, we won't be going back. FWIW, I will say that it seems some of the guys know what they are doing, but a few of the others clearly do not. Sorry to say. Pretty sure Freddy was the one who did my daughter's hair the first 2 times we went, so if he's there, have him do your hair. Otherwise, go at your own risk. read more

Edit: I scheduled an appointment tomorrow at 10:15 AM to fix said issues. It has lack of value for the money. I specifically asked for a gel top coat for my nails because I absolutely hate smudges, scratches or air bubbles and that's all I got. I'm very upset! The lady who did my pedicure and manicure was amazing but her assistant used regular top coat when I was in a rush, and just now after my 7pm - 3am shift, I see my toe nail scratched and dented which shows she rushed me out the salon without letting my toe nails dry completely. Her assistant did my acrylic nail replacement since I broke one and didn't bother to file the bottom!! I'm calling when they open to fix their mistakes. This is unacceptable. read more

The salon's vibe was no frills, kind of sloppy with opened hair care products all out on open shelves. Was not much of ambiance,.. Lady who washed my hair was pleasant and did a good job. The guy who came up to me after I was seated in a chair didn't have the manner to greet or day hello or introduce himself. I showed him a few photos of the style I wanted. I usually go to a different place but my hairstylist wasn't available so I decided to go here because I wanted a touch-up on my wolf cut and thought they'd be able to do it. I showed them a pic and they assured me they could do that. Whenever I would tell them "you don't need to curl it" or "you don't need to cut that much hair off" they would tell me to just trust that they knew what they were doing. at the end, they wanted me to pay $40 for what looked like a simple curl job (and my hair was no shorter than before). When I asked why my hair looked nothing like the pic I showed them they said: "because the girl in the picture has a different quality of hair than you" the girl in the picture was me -_- from a few months ago when I had first gotten the wolf cut. they were extremely rude thereafter, basically trying to convince me that the haircut I had was impossible to replicate (even tho it's literally just layered short hair) and made me pay the full price even though it was nothing like what I said. So rude and talked down to me, even after I told them the picture was of my hair. NEVER coming back here. expect to be blamed if they mess up your hair. read more

I rarely do anything special with my hair, minus the occasional touch of a blow dryer or flat iron. I'll admit, I'm often terrible at being a girl and dolling up. I'd rather be found replacing hardware in a laptop, or scrubbing my tub than burn and roll around my own hair in a curler for 25 mins. Time, care and patience are often absent when it comes to doing my hair and makeup. I kept hearing excited remarks about this "new place, just next to angelinas!" that does hair well (and cheaply). I figured it was some weird hole in the wall, since I saw they did nails too. The more I heard, the more interest was sparked. I finally checked it out and not only was the interior pretty modern and clean, it didn't look like some hair and nail factory run by people bused in from Flushing everyday. They even played random 90's pop music... and maybe some Kpop thrown in there. Nice. I waltzed right in for a blow out mid afternoon. No appointment, no nothing. My stylist was extremely quiet, focused and gave one amazing head massage on the hair wash chair. Unlike the normal salon chairs you lay right down and could almost fall asleep. Zzzz..... 30 mins later -- I walked out with a delightfully smooth, sleek and shiny blowout that lasted for three days. My hair looked phenomenal! I was receiving compliments left and right the next day. For a moment in time, I wasn't just no frills Steph...... I was a laaaady with effortlessly straight hair. Whew. The damage? $22+tip. I went to the salon for a wash cut and blow. I got my hair washed, then she blew my hair out, and then she cut my hair?? I told her I wanted my blowout full, not flat like with a flat iron... I left with a flat uneven haircut. The salon is great if you're going for a straight blowout or flat iron, or maybe added girls if you're going to a bat mitzvah or sweet 16. I like coming here and getting a quick service. Freddy is great on my cut and styling. Eric is great for blow dries and straightening your hair, but not for hairdos. That is the only reason I give this place a 4, they need to have someone for hairdos in case u need one for a wedding or party. Prices are reasonable and service here is great. read more

Freddy did a wonderful job matching my hair color and giving me a precision hair cut and blow-out. I also enjoyed having my hair washed in their unique shampoo chair which fully reclines so your head is practically laying flat. Your neck is not sitting on a hard sink surface which I always found to be quite uncomfortable. The salon is bright and sunny, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. BEWARE! I would give less than one star if I could! My daughter and I have been coming to the salon for years! I have spent thousands of dollars at this location between haircuts, root touch ups, and highlights! I went the other day for a root touchup and whole head highlights-I ended up leaving after the aluminum foil on my highlights heated up too fast, began expanding, and the solution started seeping out! My highlights were pure white and clumps of my hair began falling out! After my hysterical freak out they still had the nerve to charge me $120 dollars and actually tried to claim that it was "normal" read more

This is my go to place for a quick blowout. I've had my nails done here and wasn't impressed, and their cuts are honestly are a roll of the dice. I've had some great cuts and some that were so-so. It's nothing fancy in terms of decor but if you're looking for quick and good service I'd recommend. I seriously can't sing the praises of their blowouts enough. Horrible, dishonest and burnt my ear. Had a haircut and a keratin treatment. After washing my hair still had split ends and my hair was frizzy. Been here a few times before they started getting sloppy and didn't care. It is all about just making a quick dollar. Don't even think they use the real product. This is the worse place I've ever been too. The lady who washed my hair pressed so hard on my head that she hurt me and she said It was supposed to be a "massage" I left the salon with my head hurting. As she is washing my hair she gets water in my ear. I have very short hair and I asked her to just blow dry It and not use the hair straighter and she did It anyways. She dint know how to blow dry my hair straight with a blow dryer and so she had to use a hair straighter. (That's something that I'm able to Just do at home). I don't recommend this place and I would never go again. Waste of money. I am so angry that as soon as I left the salon I wrote a review. It also looks very dirty and unorganized. read more

I have never been so DISRESPECTED at a hair salon before! I came in for a cut and color and left with soapy, unwashed, and uneven hair. I asked for a dark brown color (to cover up my outdated caramel colored highlights) and as the colorist was washing out my hair, I noticed after my cut and blow dry that there was still shampoo in my hair. There was a greasy texture all around the top of my scalp and I had to go home and wash it again. After my coloring, I sat down to get 2-3 inches cut off. I asked for a straight, clean cut (no layers) and I noticed when the stylist blow dried my hair that my ends were uneven. I had sections of my hair that were a lot shorter than the rest. I was not pleased with the results and I did address that to both the colorist and stylist, but they both gave me ridiculous excuses. I paid anyway. The only thing was that the salon was trying to GYP ME!!!! Both the colorist and the hair stylist stood together by the counter and were speaking to each other in Korean. The total was $80 dollars; I paid the colorist at the counter and waited for my change. The stylist was trying to distract me the whole time and a few minutes later, the colorist asked me AGAIN for $80. I let him know I had already paid him and that I was waiting for my change but he denied that and claimed that I was trying to leave with a free cut and color!!! Besides specifically remembering that I paid him, I know for sure that I paid because I only came with $100 bill in my wallet and I did not have in that moment. There was NO WAY I was going to pay another $80 for a crap job and terrible service! The two started speaking in Korean again and I magically received my change. I did not tip them. I will say that the first time I went to K-one, I left very happy. They cut my long locks and gave me a great, sleek bob cut. I received so many compliments with that cut. About 4 months later, I went back expecting that same great work and service and I was extremely disappointed. I am afraid to go back because I honestly looked and felt terrible after my second visit. I felt like they were taking advantage of me because I looked young (I am 26 years old) and maybe I was too nice- but I don't see the harm in that when youre at a hair salon. read more

I randomly decided to give K-One a try and am beyond glad that I did! I have curly/unmanageable hair naturally and it's always difficult finding a salon with skilled enough stylists who can work with it. At K-One all of the stylists have exceptional blow out and cutting skills. I always leave there feeling extremely happy with the end result. Their prices are quite reasonable especially for the quality of their work. They're pretty busy so I would definitely suggest booking an appointment as opposed to walking in. read more

I lived in Brooklyn my whole life and recently moved to Lynbrook/East Rockaway so I had to find a new place to go get my hair done. I searched for a while not looking for anything super fancy or expensive just a place where they get the job done and do it well. I walked into KOne by accident after being frustrated about not being able to find a place. They are local, have parking, the place is clean, friendly and have pretty decent customer service. I didn't have to wait, what I really liked was one person did the washing, dying and cutting my hair so I didn't have to tip 3 different people. Their prices are decent for the neighborhood (just $20 more than what I paid in Bklyn) I was in and out in 2hrs. As I sat there I noticed a lot of regular customers coming in talking to the employees as if they know them and referring to them by name, tells me a lot of people come back there. As I sat there the place seemed to have filled up and they handled it well. They also have a full nail/spa salon in the back, which is very convenient. I did not get my nails done, however I did get eyebrows done. I was pleasantly surprised, the nail section looked very busy, I asked if I would have to wait and the owner went to check, came back to let me know someone was available. Most places they would have said just wait. All in all I'll go back and it's the perfect salon for me and what I am looking for. They are also open late on sat night so that is perfect. read more

Wow, really surprised by this place. I was really skeptical about going to a place that charges $19 for a blow out (a couple dollars more if you have longer hair). Yes $19 not $45.... as a standard amount for Long Island. The place was clean and the staff were friendly. Modest furniture and not a lot of decor but they are only charging 19??? The blowout was very good. I brought my own shampoo, conditioner and oil because I was nervous about what kind of product they use with such low prices. Freddy, my stylist was very easy to communicate with and seemed very capable of delivering much more (they do color and cuts there as well, in addition to having a mani pedi place on the other side). I am really happy about finding this place as I love love a good blow out. I will be back. They also take walk-ins. read more
