My husband and I did our taxes with Aleem for the 2020 tax year and were happy with his services…read more Come 2021 tax season, my husband and I had divorced but both chose to file our taxes with Aleem again after separate, lengthy conversations with one another and Aleem agreeing it would not be a conflict of interest. We sent all our materials over and expected it to be smooth sailing. Just two days before taxes are due, we both receive an email from Aleem stating that after weeks of thought he doesn't feel comfortable doing our taxes and completely abandons both of our taxes leaving us to file for an extension. We had already discussed the issue of conflict of interest at length, so if there was a question of ethics, this is when it should have come up and we would have understood and worked with someone else. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional behavior and I would never recommend working with Aleem or Farid Kanji and associates.
