Our garage door stopped opening and closing after a storm the night prior. I submitted a yelp request and Eli called within 5 minutes. Mind you it's about 5pm--he said someone would be at my home by 7-730pm. Danny arrived just before 7 and was very professional. A freak accident with a hatchback being up that shouldn't have been caught our garage door while it was opening, knocking it askew, twisting the rails and unspooling one of the cables. Standard how is it possible incident, the garage door started closing as I was backing out. Multiple pins were out, it was off the tracks, and there was no way to get it more than half way closed. Eli picked up immediately at nearly 9pm on Saturday and was already here by 9:15 and the door was fixed and able to properly close by 10pm. He carefully explained the problem (a broken spring, and a possible issue with the motor) and gave me a fair, upfront quote for both. Without immediately pushing me to replace the springs and since I was cost-sensitive, he provided another cheaper suggestion if I wanted to try to extend the life of my current springs a little. I called Eli to replace a broken spring. He came out the next morning and replaced the one spring and added a second spring, (I had added an insulation blanket to the door when we built the house in 2019) and he said the heavier door would work better with the second spring. Other companies also suggested this. His springs also seemed to be a bit heavier duty than the one used by the Pulte contractor. He replaced both cables as they were kinked and realigned the garage door opener rail as it was not level. He adjusted the door opening and closing for a smooth fit. He was very professional and genuinely nice to work with. The whole process took about 45 minutes. 4 year warranty on parts. Reached out for a garage door tune-up/maintenance - received a reply pretty quick via the Yelp app, and they were available same day, though my issue wasn't time sensitive, so I requested the appt for 2 days later. The technician arrived on time, and was very knowledgeable about the work, not just with regards to the what and the how, but also with the why. I say this because I actually had a lot of questions about the process and since besides the chain tensioning and lubrication, I also had a very specific question/concern about my system, which the technician was able to discuss with me in a very descriptive way. It was clear he understood the mechanics of the overall system, and this inspired a lot of confidence, so while this initial appointment was made in order to get a quote, I decided to move forward for doing the work. The work itself was done very professionally and relatively quickly. I say relatively because it can't and shouldn't be done that quickly, since safety is a critical and lots of minor checks and adjustments are needed. Based on my prior research, the technician paid attention to all of the what I expected to see checked, as well as some I was unaware of. Overall, solid experience and a great value.
