In the past, they've only used our leash to bring them back and forth to the front and not during grooming. However, today they decided to use our leash during the grooming process and he bit through it. I then verified that my warning about the leash was never communicated to the staff. The owner was then called and they stated, "nothing can be done." One of the employees could tell I was frustrated and then offered one of their grooming leashes which is for a small dog and would not be appropriate for our 90 pound GSD. I just thought it was interesting that "nothing could be done" for a customer that has been going there for years and has used both their boarding and grooming services without any prior issues, has referred plenty of customers to their business, and made sure to warn them prior to the appointment but the staff failed to pass the message along.

The sitters vary but all are enthusiastic based on the reports they leave. After every visit the sitter leaves a note of when they came and left and what they did. They also usually text us an update and a picture of our birds. We come back to a stack of reports. The sitter stays a while after the food, water, and paper are changed to make sure the birds aren't acting weird, and I hear that some singing goes on. We've never had a problem and have be accommodated at very short notice when we want to go away for the weekend. I highly recommend this company. 1/27/20 Update: Just used them again during a ten day trip to Hawaii. I'm pretty sure our birds are in love with Alex, who came for most oF the visits. Now they are just stuck with us. As always, a great experience and we love being able to travel without any worries.

We adopted a rescue dog and I immediately signed him up for a basic obedience class as more of a bonding experience than anything. Karen's company came highly recommended to me by the rescue group. The dog was wonderful, but leery of my live-in boyfriend. The foster mentioned that he had shown some nipping behavior towards her husband initially, but during the meet and greet, the dog was fine with all of us. Well, we started to have some problems with him. He was becoming very aggressive towards us and downright scary to be around. I made an appointment for a pre-training assessment with Karen due to his behavior. Karen made us feel comfortable from the second we met her. She is very down to earth and a "tell it like it is" kinda woman (which I loved!) I very much appreciated that she was honest and didn't try to sell us on a promise or dream that may not come true with an end goal for the dog. She said that I could reach out to her anytime with questions or advice and that if we decided not to keep the dog, we could still receive a full refund for our training class. In the end, the dog went back to his foster family. I was incredibly sad, but know he will be happier in a house without so many people. Should we ever end up with another dog, I will schedule classes with Pups in a heartbeat!

The photos that I received were Ahhhhhhh-mazing, I mean impressive...only to learn that he's a photographer as well...but I digress. The Boyz are spoiled and I have no shame in stating this...*smile*. But they needed to learn manners. I have two large and very strong Standard Poodles - Mr. Brown and Max. They're extremely smart, pretty obedient in the house, but a huge challenge on walks...my poor dog walker. I wanted to be able to take them anywhere without the extended conversations of sit, stay, what are you doing? you know better... etc. At any rate, I'd been following OLK9 Maryland for some time online. I knew that training for two dogs was going to be a budget buster. Thankfully, I was able to take advantage of the "Black Friday" or "Cyber Monday" (can't remember which one it was). I cannot say enough about the great experience I had...the Boyz were happy to see Craig each day which was a HUGE relief for me. Yes, additional work/training on my part is required...to me that's a no brainer. I wasted over $1,000 to unknowingly abuse my dog through Off Leash K9. I sought help because my dog…read morewas reactive toward other dogs, loud vehicles, and people. I was desperate to help my dog and myself and Off Leash K9 had good reviews. What these folks didn't tell me was that my dog's reactivity, what I thought was outright aggression, was actually fear - that she was scared of all of these things and trying to protect herself from them. So with the use of the e-collar (really just a shock collar let's be honest), I punished her every time she showed a fear response at Off Leash K-9's direction. This definitely changed her behavior, but rather than helping her feel more comfortable with the things that scared her, we instead punished her for being afraid and taught her to hide her fear responses. I wish I had looked at the science behind dog behavior, because I now know research shows that punishment through things like e-collars, buzz collars, spray bottles, etc. are incredibly counterproductive to changing dog behavior long term and they seriously traumatize the dog. I'm so very grateful to have met a Fear Free trainer who taught me about positive reinforcement. It has improved my relationship with my dog immensely and it has ultimately lead to the sustained behavior change I was looking for. Please do not waste your money on abusive, ignorant training through Off Leash K9.

After searching online and taking recommendations from friends, I contacted Premier about their…read morethree-week board and train program for our bernedoodle puppy. When talking with them, they recommended their puppy orientation (which is more like a tailored training session to cover general information and whatever you specifically want to talk about), the cost of which goes towards the bootcamp, so you aren't losing anything in taking the class. I was already going to proceed with the bootcamp, but after our session, I was even more excited for our pup to go. Jessi worked with our 14-week puppy for just about two hours, during which time she made huge strides in her "leave it" and in walking and jumping. Jessi gave me easy tips that I used the next day on a walk, and it was like a night and day experience in getting her to heel. I can't wait for her to attend her bootcamp. Another huge perk to this location (and something I specifically wanted when searching for locations) is they also do general overnight boarding, where they will keep up her training. You can even leave notes about specific concerns if you did their bootcamp with them. They are also so so close to BWI, which is great for us in planning boarding. It's also really not far from DC (just over 30 minutes) for anyone in the District!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Premier. My family had been loyal customers for…read more13 years, and over the years we trusted Premier with all three of our dogs and even recommended the facility to friends and family. Unfortunately, our most recent experience with my dog completely changed that. My dog stayed at Premier for approximately two and a half weeks while I was out of the country. When I emailed to check on him, I received a generic response that gave me little confidence that the person responding actually knew how he was doing. I specifically requested a photo or video of him, but never received one. I was also told they would try to post a video of him doing remedial training on Instagram, but that never happened. When I brought him home, his behavior was noticeably different. He came home approximately seven pounds lighter and was absolutely ravenous for several days. He also began having accidents in the house, something he had never done--not even as a puppy. I also noticed silver/metal marks on his teeth that, given everything else, made me concerned that he may have been repeatedly chewing on or trying to get out of his enclosure. I understand that my dog can be difficult with new people and may require extra patience. I have always been upfront about that, and Premier was aware of his needs. That is precisely why I trusted a facility that presents itself as experienced in caring for dogs to provide him with the appropriate attention and care. What is most upsetting is that I never received a meaningful explanation for what happened. After returning home, I reached out to Premier to ask questions, express my concerns, and request information about my dog's care, including how he was housed, fed, and monitored and whether any concerns about his behavior, eating, weight, or attempts to escape had been documented. Premier did not respond to my concerns or provide the explanation I requested. After 13 years of loyalty, this experience has fundamentally changed my view of Premier. I trusted them with a member of my family, and I am deeply disappointed by the care he received and by the lack of communication afterward. We will no longer use Premier, and I cannot recommend them based on our most recent experience.

We dropped her there on Friday morning and tried calling them over the weekend to check on our dog as she had separation anxiety issues. We tried tell the people we just want to make sure our dog is okay. We were very close to go back on Monday and take are dog back as this was very unprofessional and not the communication we wanted. Someone from their office called us back on Monday and apologized and told us that our puppy was okay. After 2 weeks when we went to pick our dog, the trainer who handed over our dog didn't know how to show us her training. Our dog did not learn anything and MOST IMPORTANTLY THEY GAVE HER BACK TO US WITH A BAD DIAREAHA AND WITH HER VOICE GONE. They didn't even give us a heads up about her condition . Andrew W. called us and we explained him everything and told him how disappointed we were. We still wanted to give this place another chance. At the time of the call Andrew seemed apologetic. Andrew asked for videos of our dog's response to the commands they taught her so that he can come up with a plan. We did as he asked and provided him with videos he requested. Its January and we never heard back from him or anyone from CTC. There hasn't been a follow up or any attempts to reach us. All I will say is that this place is BAD at COMMUNICATING, NOT RESPONSIVE, CANNOT BE TRUSTED WITH YOUR DOG. I WILL NOT RECOMMENDD THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. THEY ARE NOT RELIABLE AT ALL. None of which told me that his mounting issue with other dogs was something that could not be trained and would NOT be addressed during training. I made it very clear this was a strong issue for me because he wasn't allowed back at daycare because of it. When we picked him up and asked about it, that is when we learned that it was not addressed and couldn't be trained out of him. At pick up my dog was clearly exhausted. Obviously they had worked him hard before we got there. Even still, he didn't listen to Andrew and heel properly. He kept trying to come back to my car even though Andrew said he wouldn't recognize it. Or he would refuse to lay down to the point he was yanking the leash down hard to get him on the hot pavement. Definitely not a dog you would expect to have been trained for 2 weeks for over $2k for the basics. From the beginning my dog has always been calm around other dogs. He is no longer that way. Since getting him back he lunges at other dogs. He suddenly is terrified of loud noises when he wasn't before/ The ecollar training is not building a bond, in fact I feel like it is breaking the bond between me and my dog. I have read other negative reviews about his training technique doing this and I wish I would have read them before going there. Due to Covid we had to do pickup from our car and watch as Andrew did his demonstration with our dog. We were on our bluetooth while he talked to us from his phone. Social distancing can still happen from one end of the driveway to the other and still see if we're doing the directions properly. Instead we were sent home without any directions, just videos from his website. Which he told us when we were there that he has since changed some of the methods he trains with from those methods. He doesn't use the button at the times he used to in the videos so if you follow only the videos you're using it too much. My first email was a response to Andrew's only email to me asking how he was where I immediately said good but I was having trouble with heel. He never responded. I waited and a week later started sending messages about how upset I was that my dog was not trained. Finally Andrew responded with an at home training where he said my dog actually had to start with a step BEFORE heel. Where I need to constantly put treats in front of his face. This too hasn't worked and I haven't heard from him since that training, a month ago. I have followed his training methods without any results and will go to another trainer.

While I waited for my husband to retrieve the cat, I perused the store. Pets have a good life! They are truly treated like royalty. I saw toys, premium treats, beautiful habitats, and even Halloween costumes. In addition to dog and cat boarding, other amenities include a grooming salon, veterinary care through in-store third-party clinics, dog daycare, and dog training. The store was organized, clean, and well stocked, and the staff were very helpful. In my next life, I want to be reincarnated as a house pet.

Finally, they came out with her bed and blanket but said they couldn't find her food. When asked, the guy at the desk said he called someone who had been taking care of our dog and said the wet food was given twice a day to help my dog poop. If that's the case, then they didn't feed my dog for at least 2 days. When we got her home, all she wanted was to eat and sleep. She wasn't her playful self. Now, when she walks for a few minutes, all she wants to do is curl up for hugs and to sleep. They said they gave her a probiotic to help her poop but I'm beginning to think she couldn't poop because she hadn't eaten. During her stay, she lost 1 pound and for a dog that wasn't quite 8 pounds, this is extremely dangerous. Also, when we picked her up at noon, they said she hadn't had her morning walk. Who doesn't walk a dog in the morning? Another thing that is not acceptable is the fact that they made changes from day camp to 1-1 time, so my dog was left alone for most of the day. They made these changes without contacting me or the emergency contact. They barely made an attempt to socialize with my dog, did not take her for walks, lost/misplaced her food and bed, and gave her a probiotic without any consultation or approval. On top of everything, they charged me more than what was expected and now I have to take my dog to the vet because something happened while she was there and after speaking with the veterinarian, they need to see her as soon as possible. I will never take my dog here, again, and will tell everyone to stay away from this place.
