We just left our 2 senior yorkies there for the thanksgiving break and they did a great job! I love the facility because it is super clean and looks like a place my dogs would choose if they could :-) The staff is friendly and caring and they do a lot of little extra things including a thanksgiving-themed dog meal for the pups. There is a huge agility "open gym" but I was a little worried my older less - active dogs would hate it. Luckily there is a small dog area as well and they had their own space to just relax and nap. My one dog is only 4 pounds and so she got extra love and was carried around, which is exactly what she wanted :-) I appreciate that they took the time to understand and provide personalized care for an older dog who isn't interested in all the agility/play stuff. If you do have a a very active dog, he will absolutely love the huge play area! It is super clean and there is no dog odor at all. We LOVE Club Pooche so much! They genuinely love the dogs. My dog is quirky and they have gotten to know her and appreciate and love the awkward little fur baby she is. Pippin and I love Club Pooche. He has been going to daycare at the Club for 3 years now. Pippin started his training with Ray, who is an amazing dog trainer. Pippin's behavior changed so much after he finished his training. We have also boarded him at Club Pooch and he loved it. The staff treat all the dogs as if they were their own, giving them lots of love and attention. The place is so clean and modern. The daycare schedule gives the dogs both play and rest time. Melanie is a genius with bathing and trimming Bowie's nails. Jamie is the absolute best manager who is always willing to help in anyway she can. Website advertises 24/7 onsite staff, which is clearly untrue. Holiday hours are not advertised online and were not communicated (when specifically asked) prior to booking. There was no onsite staff this morning to facilitate drop off during the hours which we confirmed at the behavior testing appointment. Multiple customers were waiting for an employee to arrive after previously confirming that they would be available during the morning hours. I'm concerned about the level of "care" being provided to customers' pets without 24/7 monitoring. Owner is rude. **Update - our friend picked our dog up today and she was told by an employee upon arrival that we left him there with no collar or leash, which is untrue. She talks down to her customers and is completely unprofessional. During our personal training session she scared my puppy who was already nervous being in a new place. She spent the entire hour talking about how she is a great trainer and how everything I taught my puppy so far was wrong. Ray is professional, respectful, and gentle with the dogs but firm and in control. His patience is outstanding. Ray has demonstrated that he clearly understands dogs and their behaviors. He also has an excellent array of skills to handle whatever each dog needs. Ray accomplished more in our three-week training session than I had in two years! Beau heels like a show dog now. My 82lb mixed breed boy enjoys daycare, training and grooming at Club Pooch. A rescue, Max had few manners when we adopted him, was frightened of showers and getting his nails clipped. Melanie put him right at ease on the grooming front. Ray is their awesome trainer, uses ONLY patience and positive reinforcement that gets results! Max has mastered all the basics- sit, stay, place, 4 on the floor, etc. Jaime (great manager) and the rest of the staff reinforces what Max learns in training. Eight months later my big boy has made daycare friends, is well groomed, has good manners and walks are (almost) a breeze- still working on dog encounters. My dogs love going to CP. I judge the place by the folks who run it, and I have to say the staff is very professional, kind, and caring for the dogs. My one disappointment was when the owners allowed a dog at the facility who attacked my dog and gave him a puncture wound, which required an ER visit. At the recommendation of the rescue I was hoping to foster for, I called and scheduled an evaluation for my dog about a week ago to determine her play style to see what type of dog she would be compatible with as a potential foster brother or sister. I explained all of this on the phone with the employee at the time of scheduling. Upon arriving, they asked multiple times if I was there for daycare. I repeatedly told them that I was just there for an evaluation, and I re-explained why I had made the appointment in the first place. The owner said that she was not willing to even attempt to put my dog with other dogs as she was a liability. My dog has never bit anyone, to include another dog. I came in for an evaluation, yet my dog never once even saw another animal. She told me I should just "take [my dog] to the park and if she barks at another dog, then she's dog aggressive," and continued on to say that she was disobedient and needed training and that we were not suitable to foster. We had been taking our Havanese puppy to a different doggie daycare in the Ellicott City area for a couple of weeks. While the place was okay, we felt that their focus was more on the bigger breeds and we felt that our puppy could be getting a better experience and we could be getting more for our money! After a few days in a row of coming home just reeking of assorted odors, sticking to the floor, and having to bathe him just about every night, we decided it was time for a change. Enter... Elisa and the WONDERFUL folks at Club Pooche. When we toured the facility, we were astounded at HOW different a Doggie Day Care place could be. NIGHT AND DAY! The "Club" never smells rank, is VERY well lit, impeccably clean, well run and YES dogs get a little messy sometimes but never to the point of making us nauseated on the ride home! My wife and I were delighted because we were soon to receive ANOTHER Havanese puppy into our home, our male's littermate and sister! We are signed up for Puppy Kindergarten which is, essentially, Doggie Day Care with just enough training to get pups at least thinking about taking some simple commands but, more importantly, gets them happy and socialized in an appropriate SMALL BREED environment (they are only put together with dogs of similar stature). I can't say enough nice things about the staff at Club Pooche! Everyone who works there really seems to dig being there and are completely representing the love, care, and schmarts that Elisa has put into this wonderful business. Yes, I said "business" because as much as some folks like to lay on the whole "we are like your extended family", yatta yatta, when I take MY pets to a Doggie Day Care, dang skippy I want that to be run LIKE A BUSINESS! At the same time that I say that, the folks on staff are so loving of the dogs from the moment they RUN to the front door to start the day at The Club (I just think it's funny to say "The Club") until they are ready to go home after a full day. The staff know YOUR name, your dog's name and it's refreshing to be greeted with a big smile and a respectful attitude. Elisa and everyone there have been a great help whenever we have needed advice now and again on raising happy pups. When we had some issues with our female not being very interested in eating, we were given some GREAT advice on some techniques that really helped us out and got the dogs eating again. There is also a nice little "shop" in the reception area that I wouldn't call a Pet Shop, but it's a dog specialty shop that sells unique and noteworthy items of interest from VERY high quality leads and leashes to Fromm's dog food. OK, am I over the top? Yes. Sorry, but we are delighted with the experience at Club Pooche and would HIGHLY recommend to a friend. read more

We have been taking our miniature schnauzer Yoda to Club Pooche since we moved to the Columbia area over a year and a half ago. He goes two or three days a week for the whole day (about 8:30-6ish pm), and it costs about $25 a day after buying a package, which is like 30 days or something like that. It might be a little pricey, but it's worth it! Yoda LOVES Club Pooche. Almost as much as he loves food or chasing squirrels, which is saying a lot. He knows when he's supposed to go to day care, wakes up super early (which he normally hates doing), and lays next to the door to make sure he gets to go. When we turn on the street of doggie day care, he gets super excited and makes excited dog noise while jumping up and down while looking out the car window. This is amazing since he was a rescue and used to be terrified of other dogs. The staff at Club Pooche are awesome and really love your dog. It's also super clean and the ground is this high-tech astroturf like material that is really sanitary and totally hosed down twice daily. Mr. Gil and Brad are the ones who I usually interact with, and they are AWESOME. Elisa (the owner) is also very involved, and can give you tips on anything dog-related. We buy our food from there as well, and there's really cute stuff available in this 'boutique' area in the front, but Yoda hates all that stuff, so I've never gotten anything from there. I only wish that I could watch Yoda on webcam, but they don't have that there. read more

We LOVE taking our little poochy, Maggie, to Club Pooche - but not nearly as much as she LOVE LOVES going there! She get's so excited when she finally figures out that's where she's headed. We know when we drop her off that she's getting top-notch care the entire time. Definitely recommend this place and we'll continue going even though we live 45 minutes away. Our only two issues are 1. Cost! and 2. Policies. This place is expensive (though not over priced compared to other, not-so-great places) but I am willing to foot the bill because I know my baby girl will be in good hands. The policies can be a little frustrating sometimes, and confusing, so be sure to ask ask ask and write it down! We do like that you have to have a particular key tag to identify you and your dog, and we like that they take the time to get to know us! I really appreciate the night guy (and I wish I knew his name) because he snuggles with my girl, gives her tons of love, and is so genuinely nice. We took our dog, Bowie, to Club Pooche after he was "invited to leave" another doggie day care/training facility in the area. We didn't see it coming, were given no warning and didn't know what we were going to do. We called Club Pooche (it had been recommended to us) and got a call back from Elisa, the owner. She immediately made us feel at ease, we felt listened to and she understood what we needed for Bowie. We set up a training for the following week. That was in November. We noticed a difference almost immediately. We made the changes suggested by Elisa, set up rules and boundaries for Bowie and reinforced what we learned on a daily basis. Recently, he completed an intensive 3-week course with the amazing trainer, Ray, and the improvements are astounding! He's confident, loose-leash walks, auto-sits (even when he's wagging and wiggling his whole body), and is more affectionate. The training has been a life-saver and we're ALL happier for it. Day care is great as all of the staff is amazing and he gets a daily report card detailing: his mood, who he played with and how he played. They all reinforce his training as soon as he enters the facility. Every single person who works at Club Pooche is kind, professional and attentive. We've boarded Bowie at Club Pooche as well and we like that they have staff on hand overnight. Their prices are competitive for training, boarding and day care. We do wish they didn't up-charge for credit cards and they don't take Amex. A LOT of time, energy and money was wasted at the other facility. I have been taking my dogs to Club Pooche for more than 5 years, for training, daycare and boarding. They have been trained by Ms Elisa and Ray. My dogs love going to Club Pooche. The staff is wonderful and take great care of my dogs when I'm away. One of the reason I selected Club Pooch (and I tried plenty of other places) was the cleanliness of the facility and they keep there daycare numbers to a manageable number of dogs per handler. They have an OVERNIGHT care giver and an evacuation plan in case of a emergency. Everything that Ms Elisa does is for the benefit and protection of the dogs in her care. There are rules for a reason and if you have any issue with them, then Club Pooche isn't the place for you. Every business isn't perfect but Club Pooche is top notch. I realize with COVID everyone is on edge and most business are feeling the pinch with a limited work force, so please be kind, they show up and work hard for your furbabies. read more

Every year over 2.5 million animals are killed in shelters. The owner of Club Pooche is a proud breeder and shows dogs. This is part of the animal overpopulation problem. All dogs and cats should be spayed and neutered, not bred for show to increase ones ego. We toured the facility recently and found it to be clean. However, I'm concerned at the lack of streaming cameras and while we were there all dogs were caged for "cleaning". The lady who was touring us yelled at the dogs during our tour. The prices seem to nickel and dime you. I'm surprised they don't charge for the ounce on dog poop. Even if this was perfect in all ways I could never support a business owned by a breeder. read more

It has a french bistro theme (with lots of great toys and healthy goodies to buy for our pups) and the play area is large enough for the dogs to romp and run. I especially love the fact that when it's 'nap time', each dog has their own "villa" that's spacious enough even for the largest dog to move about comfortably. I highly recommend Club Pooche. Very clean place, you aren't overwhelmed with the smell of dog, when you walk in! I really couldn't smell a thing. The tour was great, staff was very friendly and owner was very knowledgeable and answered any questions I had. Loved the free day of play on my first day there! They even had these Spa Packages that were perfect for my pup! Dogs are very well cared for as staff treats them as members of their family, something I didn't see in the commercial facilities. I am a protective mama bear when it comes to my precious furbaby, so it was a huge relief when I heard they have a security tag system and also have an overnight caregiver on site 24/7. I was sold! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for daycare or boarding! Love the fact that they also offer onsite training as well. They had a few demo dogs at the center and i was highly impressed! These two little papillons Bliss and Lyric came out and the Owner, Elisa demonstrated a brief training demo for me.
