VERY BAD EXPERIENCE. DO NOT SEND YOUR DOG TO THIS PLACE. We signed up our dog here for the two week board and train program back in September. We dropped her there on Friday morning and tried calling them over the weekend to check on our dog as she had separation anxiety issues. The people kept transferring us to the voicemail and and didn't even mention that the person who is responsible to answer phone calls is out of office for the weekend. We tried tell the people we just want to make sure our dog is okay. We were very close to go back on Monday and take are dog back as this was very unprofessional and not the communication we wanted. Someone from their office called us back on Monday and apologized and told us that our puppy was okay. After 2 weeks when we went to pick our dog, the trainer who handed over our dog didn't know how to show us her training. Our dog did not learn anything and MOST IMPORTANTLY THEY GAVE HER BACK TO US WITH A BAD DIAREAHA AND WITH HER VOICE GONE. They didn't even give us a heads up about her condition . Andrew W. called us and we explained him everything and told him how disappointed we were. We still wanted to give this place another chance. At the time of the call Andrew seemed apologetic. Andrew asked for videos of our dog's response to the commands they taught her so that he can come up with a plan. We did as he asked and provided him with videos he requested. Its January and we never heard back from him or anyone from CTC. There hasn't been a follow up or any attempts to reach us. All I will say is that this place is BAD at COMMUNICATING, NOT RESPONSIVE, CANNOT BE TRUSTED WITH YOUR DOG. I WILL NOT RECOMMENDD THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. THEY ARE NOT RELIABLE AT ALL. I have waisted $2100 on them and caution you to do the same as when I expressed the lack of training my dog has to them they reminded me that I signed a contract and my money is non refundable. My newfoundland needed some basic ground work done so I decided to board and train with CTC. Andrew agreed that this was the best option for him. I was asked and discussed what I wanted with him by 3 different people, his admin, him, and the trainer that I dropped him off with. None of which told me that his mounting issue with other dogs was something that could not be trained and would NOT be addressed during training. I made it very clear this was a strong issue for me because he wasn't allowed back at daycare because of it. When we picked him up and asked about it, that is when we learned that it was not addressed and couldn't be trained out of him. At pick up my dog was clearly exhausted. Obviously they had worked him hard before we got there. Even still, he didn't listen to Andrew and heel properly. He kept trying to come back to my car even though Andrew said he wouldn't recognize it. Or he would refuse to lay down to the point he was yanking the leash down hard to get him on the hot pavement. Definitely not a dog you would expect to have been trained for 2 weeks for over $2k for the basics. From the beginning my dog has always been calm around other dogs. He is no longer that way. Since getting him back he lunges at other dogs. He suddenly is terrified of loud noises when he wasn't before/ The ecollar training is not building a bond, in fact I feel like it is breaking the bond between me and my dog. I have read other negative reviews about his training technique doing this and I wish I would have read them before going there. Due to Covid we had to do pickup from our car and watch as Andrew did his demonstration with our dog. We were on our bluetooth while he talked to us from his phone. Social distancing can still happen from one end of the driveway to the other and still see if we're doing the directions properly. Instead we were sent home without any directions, just videos from his website. Which he told us when we were there that he has since changed some of the methods he trains with from those methods. He doesn't use the button at the times he used to in the videos so if you follow only the videos you're using it too much. My first email was a response to Andrew's only email to me asking how he was where I immediately said good but I was having trouble with heel. He never responded. I waited and a week later started sending messages about how upset I was that my dog was not trained. Finally Andrew responded with an at home training where he said my dog actually had to start with a step BEFORE heel. Where I need to constantly put treats in front of his face. This too hasn't worked and I haven't heard from him since that training, a month ago. I have followed his training methods without any results and will go to another trainer. read more

I highly recommend this place! They provide quality training to large dogs, lots of affection and exercise, and very good boarding conditions. They won't charge you 3K for 2 weeks of training and keep your dog in crates at an animal hospital like other businesses do. Instead, dogs stay with the trainer's family, and get all the attention in the world. A small deposit is required to reserve a spot, and the rest of the payment is due at the time you pick up your dog. The trainer wants to make sure that you are absolutely happy with the results of training. I think it is a great approach! To begin with, I have a very dominant, uncontrollable and crazy young husky. Walking him was a nightmare - he was pulling so hard sometimes that his pads began to bleed. He was dragging me around and flipping me over fences. I had so many embarrassing moments when people driving by pulled over to ask who is walking who or recommend another super effective collar or harness...Well, Gentle Leader was destroyed and thrown out of the balcony on the very first day, Easy Walk Pet Harness was not comfortable enough for pulling so Max just chewed the hell out of it while wearing it... and so on. Two weeks at The CTC, I brought the beast back home, and... he turned into a nice, mellow and loving pet that listens, follows and enjoys being trained! I love walking my dog now! Isn't it amazing? We do sit/stay, down/stay, heel, climb, etc. No more craziness when seeing other dogs, no more jumping and feeling up curvy women and growling at men, no more stealing and counter surfing. I have a normal dog now. Sometimes Max pushes the buttons by trying to go back to old habits, but I know now how to handle it, thanks to the training session for pet owners and one-to-one training sessions included in the 2-week boarding program. I might seem a neurotic dog owner, but when I dropped Max off I was worried that he would be beaten up for his alpha character during the training, or larger dogs would bite him, or he would be scared and stressed and depressed... No, it did not happen. When I picked him up I realized that all that time my dog was on vacation. He is missing his buddies and the trainer Andrew. We will definitely go back for the Advanced Level II training! read more

I would never ever recommend this place to anyone looking for a dog boarding training program. Overall thoughts: horrific communication, unmet commitments, and general lack of care or customer service. The initial interviews were very promising and now I see that it was just to reel me in and believe that this was going to work. I had very specific things that I wanted to work on with my dog and stated this numerous times throughout the whole prep process. I was told on multiple occasions that I'd be receiving updates on my dog and after days of dropping her off had not heard a peep. She has severe separation anxiety so I was clearly worried about her in this environment. When I finally was able to get ahold of someone it was as if it was the biggest burden on the face of the earth. How dare I call and ask how my dog's doing when I haven't heard about her in days??? Unbelievable. I almost went and picked her up early but decided to trust the process and give them a chance. I picked her up on the last day of training, and guess what none of the specific things I'd asked for had even been touched on in the training. Separation anxiety? No. Barking? No. Drop it? No. But don't worry she can kind of walk on a leash now.... sometimes. When I picked her up only half of the food she should have had was gone and it reeked of a strong chemical smell. I had to throw it away when we got home. I waited a few months to post this hoping that I could draw some good out of the training... no. Complete waste of $2,000. Yesterday, a man with two kids stopped his car just to say to me "wow, your dog is so well behaved." Then came a long litany from me of how awesome CTC is and how it's really helped improve my relationship with my dog Moose and on and on. The man in the pulled over car had watched her heal politely, then witnessed her sit calmly at an intersection until I was ready to cross. Moose is a 1.5 year old pit bull mix with little previous training (I adopted her only about 4 months ago), but a really sweet and sometimes rowdy personality. She was so much calmer after two weeks with Andrew, and really listens now. She understands around seven commands well. We work on a daily basis to reinforce what Andrew and his team taught her so we don't lose the gains, but I'm happy with the training to the point that we'll be making our way to CTC in the near future for more with their classes in agility and off leash training. We're both much happier and bonding better since her time in the board and train program at CTC. I'd recommend to anyone a trip there! read more

The CTC is wonderful! I sent my 8mo old German Shepherd puppy Bodi to CTC for the In Kennel Training (IKT) program because we were having some difficulty in training such an intelligent dog on our own. We had interviewed many trainers and decided on going with CTC because of how professional and friendly they were not only to us but to our dog. After two weeks with Andrew the owner and trainer our dog is not only happier than he was before because he has boundaries but is a much more integrated part of our family. During the 2 weeks at CTC I received regular updates about Bodi and whenever I had a question Andrew was always quick to respond and make the time without our puppy much more comforting. There was so much excitement when I got to pick Bodi up after the training and I was afraid that he wouldn't listen to me or my boyfriend the way he listened to Andrew, but that was not the case! Bodi was so happy to see us and listened to us just the way he listened during training. Andrew not only trained our dog but trained us on what to do. Sending Bodi to CTC was the best investment we have made now not only do we have a gorgeous dog but a dog that we are proud to walk. There is nothing better than to hear people compliment us on how well Bodi behaves, and although we like to take the credit we really owe it to the amazing training he received from Andrew. This is the horrible thing that happened to us and our dog Emma at The Canine Training Center in Howard County Md. Our fur baby dog Emma has some anxiety issues which we have been trying to work with. I found a center that supposedly specializes in this issue. I dropped her off at THE CANINE TRAINING CENTER on BURNTWOODS RD in GLENELG. We dropped her off on Wednesday ( she was supposed to be boarded and trained there). I told several employees there that she runs and cannot be taken outside without her harness. Not 24 hours later I received a call saying that she had gotten away from them and she was lost. They did not have her on a harness! To say the least I panicked and was scared sick for her. Russell and I rushed there. When we got there NO ONE from this center was looking for her!!! NO ONE!!! I was flabbergasted but my main concern was to find her. The young man that let her go informed me that he " chased" after her but she kept running. At this point she had been gone for hours. They did not call me when it first happened. The owner called and just made excuse after excuse. Russell and I searched for over 2 more hours when we found her. She was on route 32!! It's a miracle she survived. I'm telling this not because I'm mad at this center ( which I am) or want to give them a bad name. I want to prevent this from happening to your dogs. It was the most horrible feeling wandering through Howard County yelling her name and begging her to come back to me, knowing she was scared, cold, and in a strange place and so close to a major busy road...route 32. I knew if we didn't find her she would have never survived the night. When we got back to the center to pick up her things to take her home with us the staff was still at the center! They should have had as many people looking for her as possible. The owner informed me that 2 people had looked for her!! 2!! He also told me that we did not need to get upset with them and that we should have been calm when talking to them. Again excuse after excuse. They should have been doing SOMETHING!! As we were frantically looking for Emma we went into Tridelphia Veterinary Center to ask if they had seen her. The Canine Training Center did not do any of this either. It was up to us to ask around. They immediately got on the phone to call around to dog walkers and others that could help. They were amazing. A complete stranger posted on facebook and I received a message from a complete stranger saying that she had 3 people going different ways searching for Emma! Complete strangers did more than the Canine Training Center did!! Again I just don't want this to happen to you. I wouldn't wish the feelings we felt on anyone. Not knowing if she was hurt or worse! Please do not use THE CANINE TRAINING CENTER ON BURNTWOODS RD IN HOWARD COUNTY. Emma is home safe with some scratches and some of her paw pads are damaged...but she is alive and home. Again...I don't want this to happen to you. Please please share! read more

Such an amazing transformation of our dog and we would highly recommend this class to others interested in having their dog trained. We did both the Level I class as well as the Board and Train programs. Andrew and his team really understand dogs and how they think, respond and learn. He gives you a great foundation to continue to teach your dog new things (for example, after learning how to teach your dog through his programs, we were able to quickly teach our dog how to sit in her bunk when someone knocks on the door). Our dog came back so well behaved. She can heel, sit/stay, down/stay, come, and so much more. My Husky, Dylan was having some issues with possible territorial aggression along with some male Alpha traits. I was also concerned because he had bit a dog where he goes for doggy daycare and had played with this dog on a regular basis. I also wanted The Canine Training Center (CTC) to work on Dylan's overall manners such as no jumping, sit, stay, come etc. Dylan was in the board and train for 2 wks. It seemed like forever, boy did I miss him. Fast forward to now,Dylan has been home for 3 wks. Dylan is much calmer and I have more confidence when walking him and when we are confronted around other dogs. CTC worked on all of my concerns and have been wonderful in responding to my questions after bringing Dylan home just hours after leaving. Andrew the owner/trainer is just amazing, patient and so pleasant to work with. The entire staff at CTC has been awesome as well in response time with phone calls/emails etc. Where I take Dylan for boarding/doggy daycare they too have noticed Dylan is calmer and before when he would see them he would get all excited and jump on them and that has since stopped. Its an ongoing learning process that I will need to keep up with Dylan but I don't look at it as a chore but rather something that will not only benefit Dylan but also my family with having a dog that listens better and is not as wild. Husky's are high energy dogs by nature and that's OK if Dylan gets "crazy" some days but as long as I now have the skills to control his activity level when it gets to be too much and I have more confidence overall with handling Dylan when walking that's whats important. For the 1st time in 1.5 yrs I can jog with Dylan a little bit and he runs right beside me in a heel position versus before he would be cutting me off and biting the leash. Its awesome! Dylan is walking so much better in a heel position and sits when other dogs walk by him its awesome versus before he would be barking loud and lunging toward that other dog. I would highly recommend CTC and I might consider doing a private lesson and or a 1 week refresher course in the future if need be for Dylan! I would definitely schedule a time to meet with Andrew and let him assess your dog and a decision can be made for the best interest of your pup. read more

I can't express enough the difference in our dog. We adopted Izzy a year before working with CTC. She came to us through rescue adoption without a lot of history (outside of she was brought to them from a shelter that was destroyed in Hurricane Sandy). Some of the inappropriate behaviors were soon addressed, however, she continued to have people aggression with friends and neighbors. She was sweet and loving with us though. We tried Petco training and in home private training and nothing worked. CTC was recommended to us and we are so happy to have met Andrew and his team. After 2 weeks of boarded training, Izzy came home responding to the 5 commands and her aggression to people disappeared. It was amazing! We had a different dog around people....our friends and neighbors could finally see the sweetness in this wonderful dog. She even gives kisses now to others! Thank you Andrew and team! read more

After getting our new dog from a local rescue, she had some bad habits to get over. We've had plenty of experience with dogs in the past (having 4 others over the years) and wanted to make sure this one got off to a good start. So we asked some friends how their three dogs were trained so well. They introduced us to The Canine Training Center. Before the board and train, our dog would not listen to anyone about anything. She would not come when called...or even react for that matter. She had a problem of biting at people's feet, while playfully, still annoying. She also constantly seemed to try to trip people walking up and down stairs--obviously very dangerous. After the board and train it was a complete transformation, all for the best. She comes when called, sits when told, doesn't run out the door, doesn't chase after little critters...its been an amazing experience. We could not be more pleased with our experience at The Canine Training Center (CTC). Andrew and his team are absolutely wonderful. We started with the group training classes and we were amazed to see the progression with our own dog as well as all the other dogs in the class. Andrew, the owner, is incredibly calm and patient with both people and dogs. The classes at the CTC are very well organized, productive, and fun! One of the best things about CTC classes is that they really are training the owners how to train and better understand their dogs. They teach the owners what they need to know to use the training methods at home in different situations and really develop and reinforce the lessons learned. They keep the classes lighthearted and fun for both the dogs and owners. We love that Andrew makes himself available for his clients outside of class time. He is available by phone and email to answer questions and is very good about replying promptly. He is takes his time with you and answers questions until you understand. We found the fees very reasonable and more than worth it!! It's now been a few months since we've done any training with the CTC and our dog is still practicing the obedience lessons and manners learned at the CTC. We would've continued taking off-leash, agility, and nose-work classes with them if we hadn't moved out of state!! I met Andrew and his team at the CTC when we were searching for training for our 2 year old boxer/bulldog/pit mix. He is a sweet boy but has A LOT of energy and we needed some tools to be able to manage his behavior more effectively. I met with several trainers but felt most comfortable with Andrew from the very beginning. He took the time to get to know my dog and my husband and I before suggesting a training plan and gave us options that we could work with. This was different from many other trainers that I met with who charged for a consult and gave a "diagnosis" and only one "treatment." We chose the Board and Train program because that is what worked best with our schedules and also attended some classes on Saturday mornings when we had the time. The training that our dog and we received gave us the tools to interact with our dog successfully and predictably on a consistent basis. Our dog is still the same happy guy that he has always been but he is much more responsive. He will "sit" or "down" on command and remain in that position for an unlimited amount of time until given another command. He will not go through doorways without a specific command, reliably "comes" when given the command and walks VERY well on leash. Before training he would drag me down the sidewalk but now he has become my favorite running partner! I have been so pleased with Andrew and the CTC. They have given us the tools to live a happy and stress free life with our dog and make us proud to introduce our dog to others. (We have even gotten compliments from the UPS guy!) Another bonus - since training, Andrew always answers our calls/emails when we have questions about dog behavior, etc. I would recommend the CTC to anyone who wants a better relationship with their canine best friend and is willing to learn more about themselves and their dog. read more

I took my dog to Andrew's board and train as well as intermediate and off leash training. I was excited with her progress at first. Then I did my research and found out that using a electronic collar as a first method of training was not acceptable in the training world. In fact, this methodology breaks down the bond between dog and owner. I suggest you read the Certification Counsel for Professional Trainers to understand what these collars do to your dog. Andrew and CTC is a training center that provides results. Here's our short story. The dog: Bella. The parents: Holly and Nimit. The story: Bella, a rescue as smart as her beauty, came into our house with two indoor cats already roaming the halls. She was shy at first but as she become comfortable, her personality blossomed. It didn't take long to learn that she, like many other dogs, came packing with an abundance of energy and anxiety when we left for work. People who came over were greeted with a jumping 50lb weight and a tail wag that could deliver a knockout punch. On walks, Bella led the way and was eager to chase anything faster than a tortoise. And the list goes on... Attempting to channel all of this energy would have required round the clock supervision. This is where CTC took charge. At first, both of us were leery of using anything but positive reinforcement. Now that Bella has spent two weeks at CTC and we are now two months remote from her training, it is obvious that the training collar is a superb tool. Furthermore, Andrew does a fantastic job of utilizing its potential in a very effective manner. Although it delivers a shock like when one walks across the carpet and touches a door knob, it is now even more comforting knowing that we have had to utilize the correction collar less and less. This is thanks to the amazing initial training that Andrew provided Bella. Bella is now more attentive and always eager to listen and please us. Strangers are now welcomed in a proper manner and on walks, Bella walks with us in proper formation, constantly checking in with us. Squirrels can now roam freely without having to worry about Bella chasing them up trees. In recent walks, we have even let Bella off the leash and she still follows the heel (walk) command as if still on the leash. Bella has the entire house to herself during the day and there are no more surprises when we come home. She loves her cot and will park herself there on her own accord even when not in climb position. I could go on and on about how life is post-CTC, but the most important thing we appreciate is that Bella still has her puppy like energy and she is the same dog, but her behavior is refined, we can continue to exploit her smarts and overall she is a much happier dog. If you're looking to train your dog, do your research. You won't get more professional and tailored service like Andrew and CTC provide at a better price point. Sending your dog away for a couple weeks can be like sending your first born child away. Through the whole process, Andrew kept in touch and always made time to answer our thousand questions. It is also obvious, and as crazy as this sounds, that Andrew talks dog. He is well versed and trains them not by being a human aggressor, but by understanding their world and training accordingly. I just read a post that dogs stay with the owners family, that is not, not true!! My German Shepherd was there for training over night (the 2 weeks) and due to poor care, another dog (very, very aggressive- should have been isolated) was kenneled next to mine(my dog is quiet and gentle), pulled her long beautiful tail thru the chain linked and mutilated it!!! The owner, Andrew, did not take her to the vet until the NEXT day and called me about the attack before he took her (the next day) to the vet!! I instantly went to pick up my dog. For 3+ months we cared daily her tail. She had surgery, lost 3 inches in length, she wore the cone collar for 3 month everyday and was sedated on medication for a majority of the time!! The hair on her tail is just now starting to grow back, that experience was so hard! Andrew did cover all medical expenses, with no explanation of why this happened. Please, Please be careful, my dog is not the same, any training she learned is long gone. I would never use a overnight kennel ever again, no one will treat your dog like YOU!! read more

The canine training center is amazing! Andrew, Angie, and the whole staff are friendly, warm, and helpful! It is obvious that they love dogs and their work at the center! Most importantly, the training that they do really works! We have two willful and energetic huskies that had previously been resistant to other training techniques. The CTC turned that all around! My dogs are now responsive to our commands and are well behaved! Pulling, dog aggression, and constant distractions used to make walking them a nightmare! Now, the dogs walk calmly beside us, focused and attentive to our commands! I have a 125lb Rottie who out weighs me now. He knew his commands but would only listen when he felt like it. He stopped dropping objects that he would get in his mouth and became to strong for me to open his mouth anymore. He also began to get very possessive of me and not allow me and my boyfriend to get close. I always had small dogs so did not realize what I was getting into. He was never aggressive or anything like that. We put him in obedience training when he was 6 months and I also had a personal trainer. Nothing seemed to work. I found out about CTC and knew it was my last hope. I could not believe the turn around. He is an amazing dog now. I expected him to come home and push my limits to revert back to his old self. He didn't. He loves continuing the training with me and Andrew still helps me when I email him questions or concerns. I recommend them to anyone I know who is having difficulties. This was one of the greatest investments I have made. The things I learned at the CTC improved my relationship with my dog and really helped me to be a better owner. I had a dog growing up, but hadn't had a dog for several years. I got a Vizsla puppy and was in for a real wake up call. This dog was eager to learn, very energetic, and I had a lot to learn about being a dog owner. Working with the CTC gave me a very strong foundation, which was catered to my level as a dog owner. I took my 2 year old rescue Gwyn to CTC because I had tried other trainers and had little success. My work schedule is erratic and I couldn't always make classes. I read the reviews of Andrews operation and was impressed with how everything seemed to be personally tailored to the individual dog. Gwyn's biggest issue was she would run away the minute the leash was removed and would roam 4 or 5 miles before I caught her. She was a street dog and roaming was natural to her. I decided board and train would be the only way I could stop Gwyn running away. I met with Andrew and his interaction with Gwyn took away my fears. I was also leary of using an E collar, because I had bought one and in error used too strong a correction and scared Gwyn. Andrew talked me through it and explained that they used the lowest setting possible .The thing that most impressed me was how much the staff at CTC enjoyed being around the dogs. After dropping Gwyn off I watched the the one hour video lecture that explained in detail how CTC actually approached training and their rationale for their methods. They also do the lecture in a group class setting, but my schedule interfered with getting there During her stay I contacted CTC every 2 days and they were always happy to bring me up to date on Gwyn's progress. I picked Gwyn up on a Friday and was impressed with how calm she seemed. I was reintroduced to her and spent some time working with her. She was still her rowdy self, but well behaved. Gwyn has been back home for about 3 weeks and the change in her is amazing. I had some fears that the E collar would dampen her personality, but it's the opposite. Her energy and desire to play are strong and I now can let her off leash and she returns when called. I carry the e collar when we are in the park, but the honest truth is she can run and play and will 99 out of 100 times come when called. In the odd event I have to use the correction collar, I can just use the vibrate setting and it brings her attention back to me I love my dog and the greatest gift I gave us was to send her to CTC. I am already looking forward to the Spring and using some of her boundless energy to tackle the agility classes offered by CTC. I've no qualms with recommending CTC to anyone. Tim Marks. read more

I had an appointment scheduled for 1230pm yesterday. The email I received confirming the appointment asked me to arrive five minutes early and wait in my car with my dog. We have a 130 pound Cane Corso puppy, hat needed so serious discipline. Even though I had worked with him on some of the demands. (Sit, lay, rollover), he was still high energy and very very terrible when I would take him on his walks, when he would visit the Vet for his checkup and shots. I had gotten to the point that I was afraid that one day he would try to bite and do serious damage to someone so I started looking for a highly recommended trading facility. I first looked at on in Woodbrige VA, who we made an appointment with and planned our weeding for the tine of training, only with told me that my dog could not be training from their facility due to the dogs aggression. ...... That's when I looked online and found CTC. They were very professional, did an evaluation,(unlike the our company), and when we told them that we have a wedding scheduled to take place with a week, the accommodated us and took my Louie into their facility. Andrew and his staff were very patient and from the first time coming in contact with Louie, the way Andrew was with him. I knew that God had to send me to this facility. I was very impressed when we returned to get him from the two week board and train. With the home training, Louie is doing very good, he's much calmer, and the off leash control dog collar is a Huge plus. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone that is looking for a facility with a warm and care free environment, for your canine to be trained by professional training. We had the pleasure of having our young lab, Brody, participate in the two week Board & Train program. The whole experience with The Canine Training Center ("CTC") was remarkable. Andrew Wildesen and his staff at CTC are extremely knowledgeable, patient, and caring canine training professionals. Importantly, they kept us informed and involved in Brody's training every step of the way, and their follow-up since Brody completed the two week program has been the icing on the cake. We did a lot of research before selecting CTC, and we definitely made the right choice. The quality of our relationship with Brody is vastly improved precisely because CTC help us and Brody learn to understand each other better, so now we can spend more time just having fun. Our friends and neighbors are truly amazed with fact that Brody is not only well behaved, but also so happy to be pleasing us with his good behavior. Andrew made sure we were comfortable "taking over" by arranging personal sessions (as is done for all Board & Train clients) for us to see what he was doing with Brody, and to learn how to continue his progress at home. During our first such train the owner session we were so pleased and impressed with how much Brody trusted Andrew, how patient Andrew was with Brody (and us), and how eager Brody was to "get it right" for Andrew. The training at CTC is about building trust and confidence, not forcing animals into submission. It is done with a loose leash and a calm voice so the dog enjoys the experience of learning. The cost of the Board & Training program was extremely reasonable, especially in light of the value received. We unconditionally recommend CTC to owners of dogs of all ages, and we will be using CTC for even more advanced training for Brody and ourselves in the future. read more

Great training! We started off with the private sessions but realized that we needed extra support to get our puppy trained and responsive to all family members. We did the 14 day board-and-train session in Dec. 2013. I am soooo glad I decided to follow-thru with the board-and-train for our 100 lb puppy. Prior to the session only my husband was able to get an obedient response but now we can all get his attention quickly. Although our dog is a sweetie, he is a high energy, rambunctious, Newfoundland who would barely allow the kids to pet him. During the boarding, the pet owners are required to visit onsite about 3 times to ensure the transfer of training from the CTC staff to the family. Since his return home, we can all pet him without him nipping at us, and I can confidently take him out with me almost anywhere. Yes - he still gets excited but we now have the tools to get control. Friends who interacted with our pup prior to the training cannot believe that this is the same dog. We also have two cats and have finally been able to stop Oreo from eating the cat's litter and food. He is now a JOY to have around instead of a menace. read more

The First thing I loved about CTC was that we were able to drop Donnie off and pick him up 2 weeks later. I didn't have to worry about fitting dog training into my schedule everyday. We only had 2 training times during the weekday or weekends. It was very convenient for our schedules. Donnie is about 6 years old and had problems with walking on a leash such as barking and lunging at other animals. I was worried that he was too old and would not learn anything. When I came in for our first training session together, he was a different dog. He walked right by my side and was able to follow my cues even around other animals. Donnie continues to get better with leash walking everyday. I was amazed at what CTC has done for us. We have peace of mind when we take him for walks. Pulling Donnie out of dog fights at 4 months pregnant was not the ideal situation and CTC was able to make that happen for us. We are very happy and would use them again. read more
