The Activity Center offers something for everyone from small children to the elderly. Most of the folks that work there are very nice.

Okay. So I've been doing Zumba since 2011 and for the most part, I burn a nice ~200 or so calories…read moreper class. I'll sweat a little, but my hair usually stays in place and I can easily move seamlessly back to work after a lunchtime session. And then I found ZQ Fitness. Let me tell you, the instructors at this studio mean business and they will kick your butt (lovingly, of course!) According to my Fitbit, I hit 9000 steps and burned 450 calories this lunch hour. I was sweating profusely for an entire hour afterwards. This isn't your old lady Zumba at the YMCA, this is a serious "I'm huffing and puffing and my muscles are burning like hell" workout. (There were definitely a few times I thought I had walked into an 80s aerobics class haha!) "Wait, so if you suffered so much, why did you give ZQ a 5-star rating?" Because it was boatloads of FUN! Sylvia, the owner, has amazing amounts of energy for a 50-year-old (and she moves and looks like a 30-year-old, seriously!) I was the only new student this class but I was greeted warmly, chatted with a few of the other students before class, and cheered along with everyone else at the end of every song. The passion is infectious here. Everyone is supportive, nonjudgemental, and genuinely happy to be there. Cheers and claps punctuate every movement. You'll work hard, but you'll be encouraged every step of the way. The disco lights are just the cherry on top ;) Some quick tips: 1. Buy the $55/mo unlimited membership. There are 2-3 classes every day, and they're $6 for a drop in... but the membership is so worth it. 2. Follow them on Facebook for the most updated schedule.

I am not talking about letting a few well placed whoo that went along with the music to pump you up, I mean the entire one hour class they were yelling, hooping, and hollering to the point of ridiculousness. I thought it was a joke at first but it just kept going! Then I thought ok they will get tired after a few songs, nope they screamed the entire hour. It was so distracting I could not even hear the music.

The LBJ Student Center at Texas State University is named after Lyndon Baines Johnson, the 36th president of the United States and one of the university's most distinguished alumni. Johnson attended the institution formerly known as Southwest Texas State Teachers College beginning in 1927 and graduated in 1930. Texas State has chosen to remember him through buildings, programs, and memorials on campus. As documented in the building, Lady Bird Johnson emphasized that the center was meant to be a living tribute to her husband - one filled with the energy, activity, and engagement of students, reflecting the spirit Johnson valued in young people. His picture and his background is prominently displayed throughout the LBJ student center.

It's the first thing I need when I go work out. The weights area is good, and people are generally polite about letting other people use equipment between their sets. The bad is that the front desk is beginning to nickle and dime people when they want to borrow towels. Not only that, but you have to pay a fee for their "towel service". Then proceed to pay fifty cents to a dollar for every towel you borrow from then on. There's always a entrance whose out of commission, or the finger print scanner don't work. The natatorium is closed for most of the day for who knows what. One of the showers in the girls locker room doesn't work, and each shower has a ball of hair from all the girls who brush their hair in the shower or shave but aren't considerate enough to pick their hair up after they're done using the shower.

The only thing I'd downgrade them on is the price, as it's slightly more expensive long-term than other places I've been to, but it's still more or less what you'd pay for yoga anywhere. The instructors have always been great. I can't comment on the other reviewer's problem with trying to call and email the studio, because I've never tried, but i can say that if there's a class scheduled, they've always been there. One reviewer had a problem with the gong in a sound bath class. I see where they're coming from, but I think they were wanting to make the experience be what they were expecting of it. Personally, i often don't find the gong relaxing per se in the moment either. It's intense. But it's therapeutic in the end. I wish I could reply to the reviewer and suggest that she was terribly uptight before even entering the studio. The instructors I've had here have been great. Jenna's probably the best yoga instructor I've met. She has such a comprehensive and clinical knowledge of anatomy, along with a facility with language that really helps me understand intuitively how to enter the poses. She needs her own studio someday. To sum up, people can be petty buttholes. Anyone tempted to leave a terrible review of this studio ironically direly needs this studio.

Frustrated and not recovering I started going to Easy Tiger after ankle surgery. Jenna and her staff welcomed me and I started making rapid progress. Float's are allowed even though website says otherwise I seen so many the past few times going. When you get there , there is a pool you'll visibly see but as you walk further down you'll see the very BIG spring/river fed swimming pool. If you bring things it has to be in a cooler, no glass, no styrofoam and there is a no tolerance rule on alcohol they will absolutely kick you out, no refunds. We brought a wagon (seen parents with strollers) and a small cooler for food and things. (Sodas, veggie tray, fruit, snacks) the workers WILL CHECK COOLERS so be weary! If you get there early there will be picnic tables available, you can also bring folding chairs and tables, if you don't bring either they allow quilted or picnic blanket. Please also know the water is EXTREMELY cold, 63 degrees, so if you bring little children I would recommend going to the kitty area that doesn't fully submerge them and that is tolerable. Life guards are everywhere so no worries there. The slide is also not there anymore but for a bit older kids there is a something they can swing off of that you'll pass when coming in. There's really something for all ages. THE WATER IS CLEAN!
