Yes! Such a fun putt putt disc course. We played in the dead of summer, hot as all get out, but none of that mattered. Every hole was thoughtfully laid out and absolutely delightful. Skill went out the window for me, I was chucking it hoping to get close to the basket in 2 strokes, which is par for this course. The gift shop is in an awesome Airstream trailer. Merch and discs, what more can you ask for! It was worth the $10 to play. We didnt do the other course this time b/c summer in San Marcos is a beast and I quite did not feel like dying. read more

This is the most unique Disc Golf course I have ever seen. I have played Disc Golf in 44 states at this point and none of them have been anything like flying armadillo. Such a cool set up you can tell they truly put a lot into it and my wife and child had more fun than they've ever had playing disc golf so worth the admission. 5 newbies gathered at the Flying Armadillo Disc Golf course in San Marcos. This wacky course was designed by a father and son team who designed all the 'art obstacles' in a miniature golf meets disc golf fantasy adventure. This course is a must-do for its creativity and will challenge you, no matter what your level. Our instructor Nate was excellent, patiently helping us all greatly improve our aim and our game. He taught us about the different discs, holds, throws, game rules, and stayed with us to coach our form. We were all hitting the baskets by the end of the day. I can't say enough about this place. Two courses: A mini and a regular. The artistic touch throughout the entire course is outstanding. Wether you want to throw disk or not, it is a great time walking it. There is a Large playscape for kids, signs through the course giving you clues and direction. The sculptures and signs is a surprise around every corner. Including the lookout tower... Flying armadillo sell disks, water, and has a staff with the knowledge you need to purchase the correct weight. Awesome miniature disc golf course! We had a fantastic time and can not wait to do it again!

Flying armadillo is always a good time! Such a fun thing to do with our son! We hadn't been back here since early 2019 so I noticed a lot of really cool changes. Loved that there was a playground now along with a bunch of other cool things around. Honestly, this is some super cool, affordable family fun that's probably unlike anything you've ever done. They even have a shop set up so they've got everything you need. Fun for experienced golfers and first timers, especially kiddos. read more

We took our older kids there today while we were on a weekend vacation. I had emailed them earlier about questions we had ( we had never disc golfed before) and they responded to all of our questions. When you go, you can golf unlimited- we actually went through the mini course twice. The course is perfect for beginners. They have rentals and will help you w rules, etc. They don't have much in terms of food or drinks, but they have some. There is a great shady area to relax and debrief your round w your friends. read more

The best little unknown disc golf course in Texas! Currently there is still some work left to the making of a great course, as they are working to finish the FULL sized disc golf course, the pro shop, and other facilities that will make it a destination disc golf course in the future. Currently their gem at the location is the 18 Hole Par 2 GOLD Course. It is great for beginners and very fun for the advanced player. Anyone can get an Ace here... you just have to try! The shortest hole is around 79ft and the longest hole is around 150ft...so leave your big throwing arms at home and simply bring your technical and short game. Playing the GOLD course allows you to warm up before playing the longer full course and it allows the kids and beginners to get involved. The Gold Course has many fun and whimsically local made art creations, some you will love to take a picture of. At this time they are still work in progress, but their future will look great when they are done. When you arrive be sure to do a few things: park in the available marked areas, note that there is only one portalet on the course, bring your own water, pack in/out your trash, check in at the kiosk by hole 1, ensure you pay the greens fee of ($5 currently), and sign the waiver and sign in sheet so they know you are there and LASTLY HAVE FUN!! Wonderful spot in San Marcos. I love that we are able to take a group of people with varying skill levels because Flying Armadillo has a mini 18 hole course IN ADDITION to their 18 hole regular course! Super awesome that they cater to experienced players and newbies or even kids (12 and under are free!). It is dog friendly which is so important and a huge benefit! The Pro Shop is also open now. You can buy drinks and snacks and some gear in the shop. Remember it's BYOB still! You can tell the owner and people involved care a lot about this place. There is constantly work being done from pulling stumps to laying the gorgeous floor in the Pro Shop. The 4-story pavilion is AWESOME and the perfect spot for pictures and/or relaxing. We had a little picnic out there as well, which was super fun. They have lots of neat tournaments going on so be sure to like on Facebook to stay updated on those. All in all, this is the perfect spot for hanging out and disc golf in central Texas. Look out for a playground and bocce ball court, both coming soon! read more

Flying Armadillo ruined me for life. My first-ever time playing had to be here, and now NOTHING will be as fun. I'm 60. I'll never be serious - just casual. The mini golf here was entertaining, but I could see returning to it repeatedly bc it had real challenges, too. The 3 tee long course is for serious players. Had its technical holes and distance holes. Something for everyone! The club has yard jenga, hammocks, music, foosball, cats & dogs, and a breezy 4 story pavilion, too. Awesome. read more

Wonderful and beautiful place. My favorite course so far because it has a mini 18 hole course and big 18 hole course. Not a bad drive from Austin to go play dg for a day. It's $5 greens fee, but you can play as many rounds on both courses as you'd like. Great hike while playing the big couse, right now they are nearly finished with the final holes on the big course. But with 2-3 tee boxes for each hole, its easy to get a full 18 in. It's also a great place to camp, it's primative camping. No water, but there's a portajohn. So Pack it in pack it out. Flying Armadillo is still in the development phase, they will have a pro shop and Pavillion soon. Can't wait to see what this gem of a course will turn into! Definitely recommend it to newbies to the sport, and kids, because the mini course is just so fun! Like a traditional putt-putt course but for dg! The big course is great for new and seasoned players, each hole has 2 or 3 tee boxes, for variety and options in difficulty. Played the mini 18 hole course first and basically jump putt every hole which was fun! Then I played the regular size 18 and it was an awesome course! Very pleased with the layout and the different shots I was forced to throw because of obstacles. 10/10 would go back and play again! They will have a pro shop too soon which is awesome! read more
