So I'll start off explaining that this guy Karsen told me that he wanted to start his own mobile auto service and I was his first customer. Great, let's see how you do with my brakes. I needed my brakes done and called him for service. Price quote was good and I allowed him to work on my front brakes first. I made it clear that I wanted him to use only brakes parts compatible with my car He brought pads but tried to convince me because they were more expensive that they would be better. They were not! After putting them on and I drove around, I sounded like an airplane trying to land. It was horrifying.
I then called him back and asked him to correct the problem. He did return and put the correct brakes on the front part of the car. He corrected the problem I was satisfied. So I allowed him to do the back brakes as well. Here is where the real problems began. After he did the back brakes I noticed that my parking brake was no longer tight and pulled all the way up. It shouldn't have done this. Also, my back brakes began to leak brake fluid all over the ground including my garage floor. After I checked my brake fluid under the hood, it was low and I took a picture, called him immediately to fix the issue.
So this is the 3rd time he had to return to tighten the parking brake and fix the issue with the leaking brake fluid. Got that issue resolved, but the entire time he was there he began making excuses and not taking responsibility saying, "I didn't touch anything". I said, "Dude!! You touched everything. You are the one who replaced the pads on the front and the back. There was no brake fluid leaking before you replaced the brake pads. Please just fix the issue so I don't have to call you again". So I thought the fix was good. Told him that I'd let him know if the brakes were good. Please wait for me to let you know.
One day later he is texting me over and over about the brakes. "How are they working". I told him everything was good so far, but I need to drive around for a couple of days to make sure everything is ok. Brakes worked fine but sure enough a week after he replaced the, my parking brake became loose again. I had to once again pull the parking brake arm all the way up in order for it to keep the car from rolling. I'm scared to death to leave it on a hill.
Reluctantly, I had to call him again to let him know that the parking brake was loose again. His immediate response was "I fixed your brakes correctly. I did what I was supposed to do". I again said, "Read my text again, I'm not talking about the brakes, I'm talking about the parking brake only. It's loose and needs to be tightened."
But after thinking about it, I no longer want him touching my car. I had to have this guy out to my home 4 times to correct mistake after mistake. Noisy pads replacements, leaking brake fluid, loose parking brake, wrong pads placed on each time. I've had enough.
I just don't think think this guy is ready. He's highly unprofessional. If you fix something it should be fixed the first time. You shouldn't have to be called back again and again to do the work correctly. I will never use him again and I think anyone else who wants a good job done, shouldn't use him either. He's just not ready to have a truck and professionally do cars and make them safe for others to drive around. I have young son that I have to transport in my car and it's just not a good idea to have someone so careless working on your car. read more
