Finally found a trustworthy reliable mechanic who doesn't charge an arm and a leg. My 2012 Civic had a leaky oil plug a couple of years ago. I was quoted $500-$700 by other mechanics to get the oil pan replaced. I didn't have any income at the time because of the lockdown, I just couldn't afford it. Matt was able to install an oversized oil plug that only cost me $20. He explained that it wasn't a permanent solution but it should hold up for a bit. It lasted 2 years. Enough time for me to get out of the financial jam. Obviously I brought the car back to him to get the oil pan replaced when the plug finally failed. He got it done quicker than expected and cheaper than what I was quoted a couple of years ago. He now does all the maintenance on my car. Oil changes, filters, brake pads and rotors, whatever, he gets it done. Asked him about getting various fluids flushed and replaced and he quoted me very fair prices. Planning on getting it done soon even if he suggests it really doesn't need to get done yet. But I bought this car used and I don't know how the previous owner treated her. My previous mechanic retired. Had purchased Avalon that had been serviced at this location and decided that since the Avalon was in good condition, we would try it out. Tacoma brought in for timing belt and brake work. When driving off, had a loud clanking noise and returned. Maybe a tool left in there? They checked out, after...okay. Well found another mechanic. While servicing Avalon discovered water pump that was cheap import that was installed at Craigs and now leaking. Tacoma brake work was poor, rotor were not turned true and pads are the cheap ones that grab first out in the morning. Other small items indicated less than desirable work ethic.
