Wow. This was a beautiful and luxurious retreat from home for us. The service from Saori, Helena, and everyone we encountered was top tier. They clearly realize that patrons are spending good money for the finer things and they provide service on that level. Our room was ocean view with kitchen and balcony. We had the best time with our bathroom shower that sprayed onto full soaking tub in a wet area. Mane! I can't even go into it. The pool is not the largest but great for a dip and sip on your Hawaiian Mai Tai. The servers at the pool were stellar, bringing little treats and snacks while we enjoyed the shade from the sun. The newly opened restaurant, Kina, was tasty and beautiful. The open air and views were spectacular. Walking the 3 minutes to beach was easy and we appreciated the beach supplies given by the concierge. Breakfast was a feast of all royalty. We had made to order omelettes, French toast, fruit, yogurt, breakfast potatoes, spinach, meats, breads, and my favorite item, the açaí bowl. We definitely will return and enjoy this beautiful, luxurious resort again. Mahalo.

As a Hilton regular, I chose Ka Laʻi Waikiki Beach because I wanted something a little quieter than the nearby Hilton Hawaiian Village, and in many ways it delivered. The room was spectacular, with an apartment-style layout that included a small kitchen, comfortable living area, spacious bathroom, and a large balcony with beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean. It was the kind of room you could happily spend all day in. Unfortunately, my stay happened to coincide with the lobby renovation, and I don't feel the impact of the construction was fully communicated before I arrived. Closed elevators led to long waits, navigating multiple flights of stairs became part of the daily routine, and the already small pool and only operating restaurant felt even more crowded. After eight nights, the limited, unchanging restaurant menu also became repetitive. To make matters worse, a partially functioning showerhead in my room was never addressed despite being reported. None of these issues ruined the trip because, after all, you're still in paradise, but when you're paying premium rates, it's reasonable to expect a more polished experience. I would consider staying here again because the accommodations themselves were outstanding, but only after confirming the construction is complete and the hotel is operating at full capacity.

My sister and I landed early and decided to pre-check in at Waikiki Ka Lai Hotels and Resorts. At the bell desk, the staff were initially uncertain about our status. However, after I started unloading luggage, they promptly assisted us. We returned at 17:00, following our 16:00 check-in, and received consistent service from the bell desk staff. The check-in gentleman was very helpful and genuine in his approach. The overall experience felt similar to what we are accustomed to in Japan. After checking in, we had dinner and discussed Ka Lai, concluding that we would like to return every

We had a fabulous one night stay at Ka La'i! We came over from our home on Kaua'i for an event the next day. We were very fortunate to get an early check in and a room upgrade! Fabulous room with an ocean view, overlooking Waikiki with diamond head in the distance! Epic Waikiki! Then, we relaxed at the pool, had dinner at Wai'olu Ocean! Great dinner! Lovely evening and view looking out to the northwest. Then, a great buffet breakfast at the restaurant the following morning. So nice. Located just one hotel back from the beach. Recommended! We will be back when we have another event in Waikiki!! PS The renovation in process was not an issue for us at all!

Oh wow! Serious luxury and amazing service. This hotel has the best customer service I've ever experienced. From front desk, valet to pool staff. We stayed in the one bedroom suite for a family staycation. They think of everything! The room is fully stocked, toiletries, kitchen items, coffee maker, ice machine, laundry detergent, dish soap, you don't need to bring anything. Location is so great, so much shopping and restaurants and the beach all within 5 minute walking. I love staying here, will definitely be back!

Nice hotel overall! Great size kitchen, dining and living room. The bathroom is much bigger than the room. Overall great service but the pool is small and it's currently under construction. So only 1-2 elevator working. No access to the gym (need to use one at a different hotel). Need to use the stairs to access the pool and restaurant. I recommend waiting till renovations are fully done before staying at this hotel. Not getting full experience

My sister and I landed early and decided to pre-check in at Waikīkī Ka Lai Hotels and Resorts . At the bell desk, the staff were initially uncertain about our status. This is a winner! Even with the ongoing construction, Ka La'i LXR scores points for their upscale feel and accommodating Ahola spirit. The hotel is currently under construction (7/2025), and it is now under the Hilton umbrella (formally Trump). Right now there's only one restaurant. Although it is smaller and a block off the beach, it is lovely and has some beautiful rooms. I felt and appreciated the Asian influence. Our suite was equipped with a kitchen with small fridge (not mini bar), cooktop, sink, coffee maker and hot tea kettle. Very nice pots and kitchenware provided (yes, even chopsticks). The view is gorgeous and the bathroom was a bidet toilet with warmer, an open concept shower, and soaking tub. It's very spacious in there and good to move about while bathing a few kids at a time. It was just Hubby and I, for the last leg of our anniversary trip, and we loved it. Concierge has beach chairs, umbrellas and towels, although they should offer more quality such as Tommy Bahama, which can withstand the Waikiki beach breezes. Staff is so friendly and helpful, especially bellman and concierge. One hiccup, we were told we had breakfast included. After eating at the restaurant twice, we found out it was only a $50 daily credit. But they were able to adjust and make things right. We used the hot tub/pool, which is nice and stays open late. We didn't use the spa, but i know that it's small and for treatments only (no wet lounge). It's a little on the pricey side, but it's worth it to have a beautiful, clean, and model room in a great little hotel! I'd like to revisit one day when renos are done.

Booked this hotel on a whim since it had a great deal with points, and we had never stayed here before. We ended up booking two rooms for our family and from start to finish had a wonderful experience. The staff were amazing. Bret at the front desk was especially kind and even offered us an upgrade to a suite, which was such a nice surprise. We originally booked two rooms using points, which probably says a lot about how often we stay with Hilton. We travel to Honolulu multiple times a year to visit our daughter who lives there full time, and over the years we've stayed at two different condos in Hilton Village as well as several standard Hilton rooms in Honolulu. This property was by far our favorite out of all of them. The location was perfect. You're right in the main strip of Waikiki, so getting in and out was easy, and we were close to everything. I've always felt like Hilton Village is a little farther from the main strip, so this location made a big difference for us. They were doing some construction during our stay, but it really wasn't an issue since we were mostly in and out of the hotel enjoying the island. Also room service was outstanding! Food always arrived quick and hot. We all loved the food. We will definitely be coming back to stay here on our next visit. Pictures are from room 2315 (23rd floor)

We didn't know what to expect when we drove up to the hotel. Never heard of it, just knew it was a Hilton and we could use our points. The property is FANTASTIC. It's very clean, tucked away from the touristy traffic of Waikīkī and has a spa like vibe. The rooms are great with a small lanai that you can enjoy HH outside of your room. The bathroom is all marble and the tub is super deep. The Infinity pool and hot tub is open till 10pm. Valet only. The most important mention of staying here is THE STAFF! They are friendly, kind, professional and always willing to help. We will ABSOLUTELY STAY HERE AGAIN. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

My cousin asked me to join him on a short visit to Oahu and was able to get a room here with his Amex points. The deal was book 3 nights and get a 4th for free, averaging the cost to about $350/night. Parking is valet only and $40/night. We were upgraded to a partial ocean view with a king bed and a pull out couch. I slept on the couch bed and was surprised by how comfortable it was. It made noise when I moved but I passed out each night. The bed is definitely much more comfortable and he slept well too. The bathroom has a huge tub (which I took advantage of) and is deep and wide. The shower is next to it and it has nice pressure. We had dual sinks and a bidet as well as a kitchen. Our view was relaxing and we could see the water through a few buildings. We took a dip in the pool, which is on the smaller side with the jacuzzi in the middle. Breakfast was included in our deal and it had fresh fruit and veggies, some Japanese options as well as oatmeal, an omelet bar, varying egg benedicts, sausage, bacon French toast or waffles, and a variety of breads/pastries. We loved the Guava juice as it wasn't too thick or sweet. The gym was a decent size with lots of cardio equipment and options for free weights as well as machines. Bottled water and fruit were available as well as rolled damp towels to cool off after and standard workout towels. The library was across the way with many books in Japanese but is a nice place to relax and read if you want to get some quiet time. Beach towels are available near the building entrance and they provide seemingly unlimited reusable bags to carry them and other things as well. We really appreciated this service as we could drop off the Sandy towels before we went into the hotel and the bags were exceedingly helpful for all the things we purchased. The staff is fantastic. They offered to help at every turn. Everyone was very friendly and smiled a lot. We felt very welcome wherever we were in the establishment. It is a block away from the water and conveniently located to the be close enough to walk to the main area for shopping and dining options. We would definitely stay again.

Overall 5 stars: Hands down the best luxury pet friendly hotel in Waikiki! From the exceptional service to the personalized details that made my stay an unforgettable one. Service 5 stars: Upon arriving to the valet, we were met with warm greetings and had our bags unloaded by the guest service team. We were then escorted to the elevators that took us to the front desk. We were greeted with refreshing cucumber mint water and pineapple and star fruit jelly candy. Once we were checked in, our bags were on the same elevator going to our room. No waiting around for our luggage. Upon entering our room we discovered a special and personalized experience. There was a "Happy Birthday" Brownie in the refrigerator and plushy stingray for the little ones. There was also a dog bed and dog bowls already in the room for our dog. There was also a box of Beach Brittle and souvenir Ka La'i water bottles. Amenities 5 stars: Our room had spectacular floor to ceiling window views of the ocean and the Waikiki coastline. The balcony had glass railings that made it safe for our little dog to go out on. Full kitchen with Wolf appliances and an enormous refrigerator. There was also a Nespresso machine that my wife used daily. The luxurious amenities also included a deep soaking tub with a window that could be opened toward the master bedroom. There was a separate shower that had the best water pressure. All in an Italian marble bathroom. The toilet seats were heated and had a bidet. There was also a washer and dryer in the room which made it convenient. There are many more that there is not enough room to list them all. Location 5 stars: The Ka La'i is right across the street from the beach and the walk is a beautiful and short one passing the US Army Museum. There are many great places to eat and shop within walking distance of the hotel. I would say all within a 5 to 10 minute walk of the hotel. If you are staying with your pet, there are grassy areas all around the hotel and a nice park to take a walk in across the street. Cleanliness 5 stars: This is a big one for me. From the Grand Entrance to our guest room, everything was spotless. I can't stand rooms that were not cleaned properly. The cleaning staff were very pleasant and helpful, asking if we needed anything, anytime we passed by them. And they all did so with a smile. This is our favorite hotel to stay at in Waikiki and we will definitely be back there soon. If you want an unforgettable experience in Waikiki you have to stay at the Ka La'i.

Had a good stay here through Costco travel. The hotel suites are big enough for 4 adults or a large family. It's not located on the beach but it's on the side of Waikiki closer to ala moana and is only 1 block from the beach. There's free water and the suites have laundry machines in them so they are very convenient. Overall super luxury and modern for a place on waikiki. It doesn't seem to be super busy either compared to the other waikiki hotels. Super close to eggs n things and the Royal Hawaiin center. The restaurant was just ok. I would stay here again!

Hotel offers different types of pillows in the room and spare blanket in armoire. Also in the armoire is hangers, an ironing board and steaming iron, which came in handy for those wrinkled linen shirts mashed in my suitcase. The Bathroom. - one sink with a little counter top space but sufficient. The toilet was also bidet in the master bath. The shower pressure on 21st is ok but low, but it did the job. The Ac in room was awesome! It gets super cold, if you need it, quickly. It was nice for those hot humid days of walking in Waikiki. It had an In-room mini fridge and bar sink with 4 real drinking glasses, which I like. Hated there was no freezer in the mini fridge But the bell hop station offers to freeze ice packs, or whatever you need, for you. We had 3 sliding doors with west views and moderate views of Waikiki beach. The Second bedroom has own bath with also a single sink, toilet and shower- No bidet. The room/bedding/bathrooms were clean with no mold in the showers. The furniture showed a little wear but nothing excessive. The Elevators were fast! The pool, mangers reception and breakfast are all on the 4th Floor (terrace level). Breakfast was typical of Embassy Suites, I like the made to order omelette which makes it much better. Lots of fresh fruit and even some miso soup and other Japanese/Hawaiian offerings. The Staff was awesome and super friendly. I Used valet every day. Great service, fast and practical IMO but hard to swallow the daily fee. The hotel was attacked to the Waikiki beach walk. Island vintage coffee was a regular stop for coffee and sometimes breakfast. Order coffee or food to go online after 8am to save a ton of time standing in line. Hotel was Very close to all ththe shops. Awesome location. Much better location than Hilton Hawaiian village location!!! Our fav restaurant close by the hotel was Kana Pilla and Monkey Pod, which were across the street. Make sure to make Open Table reservations for both way ahead of time. I did mine 2 months out. Housekeeping willing to clean and supply new towels daily however linens are not cleaned but every 5 day, unless you request it, which they are happy to do! Views from 21st floor were awesome and all 21st floor rooms had extensive balconies. 3 sliding doors. Keep in mind Ac doesn't work, yes the fan blows, when the doors are open!! It's too humid at night to sleep with them open so we had them open for select times, mostly am. There's a Washer/dryer laundry room on site, 3rd floor only. It was Very convenient especially packing 4 days of clothes for a 10 day trip so our suitcases weren't stuffed . Use laundry room on sundays/mon or late evenings when people are too busy arriving and leaving. $5.25 to each wash load and I think $4.75 to dry. Washers only wash with cold which I like. Perm press on dryer seemed to dry all our shirts and socks well. We hung our nice Aloha shirts on the hangers in the room and they dried within a day. Washer and dryers take credit cards. Yes they're is a soap machine that also takes credit cards. I didn't use and just bought soap from ABC. ABC stores are EVERYWHERE so don't lug around suntan lotion or waters in your suitcase. Just buY at ABC which is only 20 steps away. FYI ABC doesn't no GIVE out bags for items unless you spend over a certain amount. ANC bags cost like .50 cents. ABC has Awesome poke and alcohol (spirit and beer) choices. Yes single purchase tall beers too. Don't forget the free brief fireworks show in front of the Hilton Hawaii Village on Friday nights only. We saw them set off at 7:45p by the lagoon. It's amazing how many people attend so be prepared for the crowds to and from. Big tip: make open table reservations for all your restaurants months ahead! All places are super busy until about 8:45 pm on most nights. Hope I helped.

The Banyan Wing is the original Victorian-era building which is listed on National Historic Registry and houses the main lobby and restaurant. The number of guests and visitor who circulate through this property daily is incredible. Including the Tower and Surfrider Wings, it has 791 rooms. Our Tower room had a great covered patio with incredible views of Waikiki and Diamond Head. We spent a lot of time on the patio watching the surfers, catamarans, and enjoying the island breeze. Our balcony was spectacular :o Our room was updated and very comfortable. I understand the owners completed a full renovation of all rooms in 2026. The beach bar is one of the best in the world. Cold cocktails, beer and wine. Good service. Great views! The drawbacks.... The pool is small and very crowded, especially for 791 rooms. With that said everyone in the pool was smiling and having fun. The beach is also pretty small for such a massive hotel. At high tide the hotel only has about 30 feet of beachfront and it is a public beach so it is crowded Rio style. For us this was not a drawback as we love Waikiki, the birthplace of Hawaiian surfing, and spend most of our time in the surf. Hawaii and Waikiki is one of the few places that completely lives us to the hype year after year and generation after generation. We can't wait to return. Aloha & Mahalo

WORDS TO DESCRIBE Halepuna Hotel: Modern, clean, safe, economically and environmentally friendly (bamboo room cards, water dispensers for your reusable water bottles), bright, airy, quality service in hospitality and room service LOCATION I loved staying at the Halepuna Hotel. It was centrally located at the beach walk, so ABC Store, shops, restaurants, and the beach were all within walking distance. *It was difficult finding the location of the hotel, when we first arrived. There was no big sign that you can spot, while you're driving, so my landmarks I always looked for were the ABC Store and Denny's. STAFF/SERVICE: Everyone that we came across during our stay was very friendly, generous, kind, and attentive. A shoutout to the Valet Service crew, especially RJ. He gave us recommendations for where to go. He always made us smile and laugh with his jokes. Thank you Uncle! There's an ABC Deli right next door and that is very convenient!!! The rooms were clean and the bed and pillows were great! One of the important standards I look for in a hotel stay, is a focus on supporting locals. For me, if there's a Starbucks in the lobby, then I'm already disappointed. This hotel has one of my favorite local chain cafes, Honolulu Coffee Company. The only local café that has consistently made perfect crema foe decades. Starbucks baristas are not trained for this. The hotel also has restaurants with lots of local flavor. The sushi buffet is amazing but difficult to get a reservation on the weekends. 100 Sails also has a buffet though ordering ala cart seemed like the best choice for us. Best place to view the Friday fireworks. Our only disappointment was how much street noise we could hear throughout the night, even though we were on the 28th floor.

We booked the Club Premier package, and we felt it was worth it because breakfast at 100 Sails Restaurant on the 3rd floor was excellent every morning. One thing to keep in mind is that parking is not included with your stay and must be paid for separately, which is something to factor into the overall cost. One big concern was the snacks on the 5th floor. We came across moldy bread, which was definitely concerning. I would think the staff would check the food before putting it out, especially considering this is not a cheap hotel. I loved that we could grab coffee every morning from Honolulu Coffee without having to leave the hotel. The lines can get long, but the service is fairly quick. The staff, overall, were not very welcoming and often seemed serious. However, on Monday, June 29, there was an older woman who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. She really stood out and made us feel appreciated. One other issue was that the body wash in our room was never refilled, so we ended up not having any during our stay. We also requested a later check out and our key cards aren't working. The front desk never mentioned anything about need to change keys cards if we had a later check out and now we're outside our rooms having to go back downstairs and change our key cards. And they were making it complicated because they wanted my drivers license even though it's in the room. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and the beautiful views, great amenities, and delicious breakfast made it a memorable family vacation.

I stayed at this outrigger property 2 nights from March 6, 2026-March 8, 2026…read more When I checked in I was informed since my stay was for 2 nights if I needed to have my room cleaned to let housekeeping know. Once my room became available I dropped off my luggage and then went directly to the beach. When I returned I did notice some areas of concern where the room was not very well cleaned. Instead of calling housekeeping I went directly downstairs to the front desk. Front desk personnel were busy as there were only 2 people assisting the long line of quests. I decided I'll just deal with the room uncleanliness later. Please be advised that I did take pictures. Once I checked out on Sunday, March 8th, I advised the front desk personnel my concerns. The manager Ira listened to my concerns as I showed her my pictures. She immediately apologized and ask that I email the pictures to their corporate office. Which I did once I arrived back to the mainland. In the room there's a finger or toenail clipping on the carpet between the console and couch. Also you can also see that portion of the carpet has not been vacuumed. The clothed bench in front of bed was extremely stained and filthy. So filthy that I covered the bench with a bath towel if I needed to sit down. Also the refrigerator was very dirty. I chose not to put any food items in the fridge because of this. Also the bottom of the toilet is stained with either fecal matter, urine or maybe it's rust. If so, clean it then use caulking. These are the concerns I have with room 403. Hopefully I'll be hearing from upper management in regards to my unpleasant stay in room 403. The best part of staying at this hotel was the show Auana which is located at this hotel. Needless to say I will not stay at this hotel again.

La Mer is a one of a kind French experience and Orchids is fantastic for any meal of the day. Just outside the hotel is a delightful oceanfront park where the hotel hosted yoga each day. A highlight for me. Great poolside service. The beach is small, so if you are looking to lounge on the beach, that's not really much of an option. This hotel is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World. So you know it has the highest standards. That brand has never steered me wrong. And the fact that it is not under a massive hotel chain umbrella means it can maintain its authentic individuality. Pro tip: if you have a late flight, there is a lounge where you can relax and prepare for your departure, as check out is 11am.

The restroom is in the restaurant area. I never once left the restaurant throughout the entire evening. I was simply on my way to pick up my drink from the seating area and then head to the bar to pay. He told me I was "going the wrong way" when the way I was going would have led to me to the bar... The way this team handles tabs in this bar is abysmal. Right when I sat down, I was attempting to give my bartender my credit card to start a tab. They refused to accept my card and said don't worry about it, and that they'll take it after I'm done. I explicitly told the bartender that I was going over to the lawn right next to the bar (still in the restaurant area) to get a better view of the musical performance, drink in hand. They said go ahead. Nobody should be treated like this

We flew in on Monday and checked into a room with dirty sheets. Not exactly the welcome you expect. That evening, we saw a notice saying the water would be shut off the next day from 9:00-11:00 a.m. We spent the morning at the beach and the small pool. One odd thing to note: to get to the pool, you have to walk through Duke's outdoor dining patio in your wet swimsuit while people are eating. It's a very strange layout. The bigger problem was that the water was still off after 1:00 p.m. There were no working toilets, sinks, or showers, and even the hallway ice machine wasn't working because there was no water. We complained to the front desk and were simply told there was nothing they could do. The next morning, we were awakened at 6:00 a.m. by loud hammering overhead, followed by power tools starting around 8:30 a.m. When we stepped onto our balcony, construction debris was actually falling from the floor above. In the hallway, water was leaking through a ceiling light fixture. Security acknowledged the leak and said someone was coming to address it. The front desk acted as though this was the first they had heard of the construction. They insisted it was happening on the 10th floor, nowhere near our room on the 6th floor. I walked upstairs myself and immediately found a crew of construction workers gathered outside the elevator on the 7th floor--yelling to one another, hammering, with construction materials and debris everywhere. Clearly, the hotel knew there was active construction directly above occupied guest rooms. The next day the noise started at 5:30am. We called the desk and they said security was putting a stop to it. When I went downstairs security had no idea. Rowena at the front desk gave me the manager's business card, but every call went straight to voicemail. I was told the manager would arrive at 8:30 a.m. I never received a return call. This hotel is poorly managed. If construction is taking place directly above guest rooms, those rooms should not be rented. Between the dirty sheets, extended water outage, nonstop construction noise, falling debris, and lack of management response, this was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I've experienced. Also my courregges vintage sunglasses went missing from our room and I'd really like them back and credit for this memorable disappointment. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
