This is my first time staying at the Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort, and I have to say I was pretty impressed. Came here for my birthday and just enjoyed everything they had to offer. The service from the front desk to the cleanliness of the rooms was just amazing! I also enjoyed how there were plenty of elevators to go to the hotel rooms and it was in one section. Super easy to find everything and overall I enjoyed my stay. The room itself was clean and modern, and the view was spectacular. I went to the pools which even have an adult-only pool area as well. I tried paddleboarding yoga one morning. Overall if you wanted to relax and chill in the hotel you could do it and it is walkable to all the shopping and food places in Waikiki. Would totally reccomend people to come to this hotel. A very centralized location and awesome spot. read more

The hallways were stacked with black trash bags upon arrival. it looked so dirty. luckily later in our stay all the bags were removed. There is no room in the adult pool area, people put towels on chairs and walk away and there's no chairs left for anyone else to use. It's fine to sleep here but it's a hassle to not have anywhere to sit down or lay out because it's so crowded or people just leave their dirty towels everywhere and hotel staff doesn't monitor to remove them until end of day. also we found a used tooth brush in our room! gross! Stay here 6/11-6/17. Arrived at 11 am from Tokyo hoping to get in our room early. Didn't get our room till 3:30 which was not a great way to start the vacation. Inside the room appeared nice at first but upon getting settled in we noticed a couple issues. All the soaps, shampoos and conditioners in the bathroom were empty, only 2 bath towels, and a cockroach running across the table. Went down to notify the front desk/Management and about 50-60 people were in line also waiting to get there issues. Vacation time is incredibly valuable and I wasn't going to waste anymore of it. So I killed the roach and bought my own shower supplies. Wall are paper thin and the neighbors liked to have rave parties til 2 am. read more

Aloha Yelpstars, I'm a little confused by some of the Sheraton Waikiki ratings. Let's get into this... For my wife's bday celebration she chose to return to the Sheraton Waikiki. She last visited 5 years ago with some girlfriends and always spoke highly of the property and hotel. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon for our 9 day stay. Immediately I noticed that every employee I contacted went above and beyond to greet me and make sure if I needed help they would handle my situation. Staff here from valet, pool staff, housekeeping, bell desk, hotel check in, and even landscaping are well trained and operating on a higher than 90% of hotels out there. This level of service continued from our first to last day folks. Wendy our housekeeper was awesome and remember to tip appropriately! I want to talk about a common complaint I see in the reviews. Cost. I hate to slap you in the face with this but prices aren't what they used to be. Yes, this is a very expensive property. For us, it was worth the splurge that maybe will only be done every 5 years, but there's a reason for the high price. This hotel is roughly 2,500 miles away from the continental US and in my opinion one of the best ocean front properties in the world and you have to pay for that. If you are going to complain about cost then please stay home. Everything on an island that isn't naturally there has to be shipped there. So cost is obviously higher. I was last in Waikiki in 1995 as a child. I remember it then and seeing it again now was amazing. The food, city, and the ability to rent a car and leave the city in a flash is something unique in this paradise. The Sheraton adults only pool and the views that the ocean side hotel rooms provide are unparalleled. The kids pool is also above and beyond for the under 16-year-old age group. I would give this hotel a 10 out of 10. We stayed here for about seven days while in Hawaii for our friend's wedding. My boyfriend was in the wedding party and we decided to arrive a day early to enjoy more time in Waikiki. From the moment we arrived the service was excellent. We took a taxi from the airport and as soon as we pulled up the staff greeted us, handled our bags with care, and made check in smooth and easy. We booked a balcony room and asked for an ocean view but instead our view overlooked the pool. Even though it wasn't what we requested the room itself was very beautiful, clean, and comfortable, and we were still happy to have the balcony. The cleaning staff was fantastic. Our room was refreshed daily with new towels and clean sheets which made our stay feel even more comfortable. The hotel gym was a nice surprise. It was clean, not overcrowded, and stocked with everything I needed. I even met another guest there who lifted the same way I did which made it even more fun. I also loved the pools here. They have two separate pools, one for families with children and one that is adults only. It was so nice having the option to enjoy a more relaxing pool experience just for adults. We were given two cards for towels but honestly one was enough for both me and my boyfriend. You just hand the towels back when you are done and they return your card. Super easy system. Another highlight was the coffee spot inside the hotel. I went there every single day for an iced mocha and it was seriously so good. Our stay also included breakfast which was a great perk. The food was fresh and the women who hosted the breakfast area were amazing. They even remembered me by my colorful workout clothes which made the experience feel personal. The location of this hotel is unbeatable. You can walk right out to the beach or stroll around Waikiki with plenty of shops, restaurants, and entertainment nearby. Inside the hotel there were lots of stores and dining options too. My personal favorite was the cookie stand. I went almost every other day for two cookies for just four dollars and they were delicious. Overall our stay at Sheraton Waikiki was wonderful. Between the location, the pools, the amenities, and the amazing service it was the perfect place for our trip. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Hawaii. read more

This hotel was the one recommended by AAA when we booked our Hawaii vaction last month. Our room was already prepared when we checked in, though it was bit busy checking in due to volume of guests. We got the ocean view so it was nice to see the Diamond Head from the balcony. Down below you can see the Infinity Pool and Cabanas and it's always packed. There's a booklet of coupons one can use to shop or dine during our stay. No room service so we walked to nearby food places for our meal. It was a good stay, room was always cleaned with enough towels to use. Not much to complain about, especially when our stay was free. read more

The one oddity is as the shower, which had a bowed curtain rod extending beyond the floor drain in such a way as to make it impossible to shower and keep the bathroom floor dry. Love this hotel and everything it has to offer! Rum Fire restaurant is so yummy with ocean views. Perfect for large parties and the wait staff are always great. Their ballrooms are alway beautiful and tucked away from the main lobby of the hotel, offering an intimate vibe for galas and company events. The food offered by Sheraton is 10/10, including their wine and alcohol bars. Dishes and desserts made with locally sourced food is always delicious. Would highly recommend if you needed a big event for 200+ people. read more

We booked an ocean view king bedroom. It was great until on the 2nd day of our stay. For over two hours we listening to what sounded like jackhammers going above us. We placed numerous calls to the front desk. I eventually called and asked for the manager. The manager wanted me to believe that it was noise from the first floor cafe being renovated. I explained several times that it was coming from above our room. She insisted it was the first floor. My husband was able to get a video from our balcony of the sound and the tarps hung directly above our room. I went to the lobby and requested the manager and played the videos for her. She then advised she would put a call into the "engineering department". She requested that I gave her 15 to 20 minutes and she would call me. 30 to 35 minutes later she called back and she spoke with my husband. She offered to put us into a presidential suite on the 31st floor. She requested that we come downstairs to get our new key cards and that a bell boy would assist with getting our luggage moved to our new room. My husband went downstairs to get the new key cards and the manager then expressed that she felt the suite bedroom view was better than the presidential suite and an overall better room. So she was now putting us in a suite instead. After we were moved into the new suite, my husband looked up the presidential room and found that in fact the presidential room was better than the room she had placed us into. Well, we were grateful for a new room, we didn't appreciate being lied to by the manager. Mind you this was our anniversary vacation and we had three full suitcases to pack up to move into the new room. I only gave it four stars because the hotel back resort itself is beautiful. The rooms are beautiful and everybody else that we came in contact with throughout our weeklong stay was friendly and accommodating. They have a lot of amenities at this resort, including an infinity pool, a separate pool with a waterslide, numerous shopping stores within the lobby area a parking garage located directly next to the resort and two different bars and a restaurant within. read more

Stayed at the Sheraton Waikīkī and loved it. The location is perfect since you're right on the beach and close to all the shops and restaurants. I had an ocean view balcony, and waking up to that view was unreal. The infinity pool is a highlight and sitting there with the ocean in front of you is amazing. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the resort never felt too crowded even though it's big. Rooms are clean and comfy, but honestly the vibe and location are what make it. We usually stay at the Royal hawaiian, but I got tired of the constant loud parties there and switched over to the sister property Sheridan waikiki. It was a really good move! While I didn't love that the downstairs is basically a mall, the rest of it was wonderful. We had a phenomenal view of the ocean and my daughter just loved the Japanese toilet. We got chairs at both the kids pool and the adults pool, and as someone in a wheelchair I found the whole place to be very accessible. The margaritas at the infinity pool were pretty weak, but still delicious. We will definitely be back again next year. read more

I grew up here so I'm not going to be as familiar with the hotels. But this Sheraton is a much older one and has always enjoyed a very prime location within Waikiki. This includes wonderful, classic views of the beach and Diamond Head, which I tried to capture in the attached picture. Honestly, the element which stood out to me the most was the massive elevator infrastructure - at least 10 of them in a oval cluster - so you're never waiting that long. read more

This is a hotel that will make Waikiki feel like Waikiki. The views, the infinity pool, its beachfront, and the available amenities made my stay pleasant. Your room is an elevator away from the beach and a 3-minute walk away from Kalakaua Avenue. On-site, you can find a Honolulu coffee with excellent coffee, good pastries, and underperforming acai bowls. You'll appreciate this spot if your girl needs caffeine within minutes of waking up. Rumfire, their restaurant, is more of a tourist trap, but they will take care of an app and quick drink craving. Lawson Station is an ABC Store and 7-11 all-in-one. Whatever you need, it's there for a premium, but it's there. The rooms are on the smaller side, but they have comfortable beds and are well-maintained. Housekeeping did an excellent job of keeping the room clean and cared for on every day that was spent here. They're not on the "we only clean your room every other day" type of laziness that some hotels never got out of after the pandemic. The entire experience ranged from good to great. This is a safe choice for a more resort-feel stay in Oahu. read more

I see that Sheraton Waikiki do not monitor these posts. 1st night, Concierge lady at 6 pm was rude as in she slammed her pen down and huff puff asking me what I want to know after a I asked "can I inquire about something?" After her irritation, I asked if she was closing soon and she said yes. I said "ok, no need to be rude. We can come back tomorrow." Wasn't a concierge suppose to help you with tours, restaurants etc when needed when they are working at their post? Apparently not here. They get paid to sit there and not talk to you. Resort fee. As soon as we got up the room. They started charging resort fee of $62 daily. Silly me, didn't read the fine prints. Their washers gets errors sometimes and I'm still waiting for my $12 refund from them. At first, they said that it didn't charge me but that was a lie. I came home and see 4 charges of $6 for that night. I'm surprise that their hallways are not air conditioned for this big of a hotel though. The hotels we stayed at always have air conditioned halls. The room were nice overlooking ocean after upgrade. She went from $150, to $100, to $80 a night before I gave in. Funny how they give you 50% discount after you say no. Hmmm We enjoyed the infinity pool. Though we were there early. It's never that packed. Feee white lounge chairs and towels. 1 day, they scanned your bracelet. The next time, they didn't. Very inconsistent. It's nice to have Lawson store inside the hotel. Grocery is easy. Very close to shopping center within a minute walk to everything. Tours do pick up and drop off at the hotel depending on which tour you're going with. So this post was dedicated to the lovely concierge that ruined our stay the first night we were there. read more

Overall our stay was very nice but we did book our room here because of the Infinity pool! Now guess what they don't tell you is not working the infinity pool. I am glad that I did not read these reviews before I booked this trip. We were here for 5 nights before we flew to Maui, and the location was spot on- we could walk everywhere. We did rent a car, which is a must there, especially if you want to see the entire island- and the entire stay in an oceanfront room with parking and the resort fee was reasonable for us- Hawaii is not a place to vacation if you want economical accommodations. I always save money by booking through Expedia and then adding my member number at check-in so that I get the credits with whichever hotel group. The pools were amazing- the grounds well kept. We never had to wait for an elevator or the valet for the car. I was very impressed with housekeeping, and the staff were exceptionally gracious. They do allow upgrades for the beach and pool if you want oceanfront seating. If we ever return, we will stay here again. Loved the little convenience stores on site. The restaurants also were also very good. 10/10 read more

I recently stayed at this hotel, and while many aspects were excellent--like the fantastic service, delicious food at the restaurant, and a beautiful pool area .( 5 star ) No water at the room and store is not open 24 hour , if you come back hotel late night you have to go to the room take a bottle and come back outside fill the bottle. we had a very disappointing experience with the restaurant staff. They refused to serve us food at the pool, saying it was "dinner time" even though it was just 5 p.m. When we went inside and asked to be seated at the restaurant- they refused again, saying we didn't meet the dress code--even though it was still early evening. This was the only restaurant/dining option at the hotel, I have to take a shower change and and then I can eat something at the hotel .. where I The worst part was the extremely rude behavior from both the restaurant manager, Cassidy and another staff member, John. I told then if I change I can go outside of the hotel with lots of options and the guy (John say 2 time back to back we don't need you to come back hear , Both had an incredibly rude tone and displayed a lack of respect that should never be seen in customer service, especially from managers. After this, we left, and we couldn't enjoy the beach or pool for the rest of the day. Essentially, our entire day was ruined. A hotel should offer at least one casual dining option for guests, or they can have a section at same restaurant at least till same time as pool are open this was a huge disappointment. Our experience with Sheraton Waikiki was incredibly disappointing and, frankly, unacceptable. We were traveling to Hawaii when a Kona storm disrupted our plans, leaving our family scrambling to find a place to stay. During a stressful situation, we called the hotel directly to book a room and were very intentional about asking the booking agent to clearly outline all additional fees. Multiple times, we were told the only extra charges would be parking and the resort fee. However, while still on the phone, the reservation confirmation came through--and it included over $600 in additional, unexpected charges. When we questioned this immediately and said we did not agree to those terms, the agent refused to cancel the booking and instead transferred us to another line. Despite addressing the issue right away, the hotel ultimately refused to cancel and charged us for half of the stay. To make matters worse, the terms and conditions were rushed through so quickly they were impossible to reasonably understand, and we were simply told they would be sent digitally after the fact. As a military family, this was meant to be a once-in-a-lifetime trip that we carefully saved for. Instead, we were left dealing with added stress, unexpected costs, and zero resolution--without ever stepping foot on the property. This experience reflects a serious lack of transparency and customer care. Based on this, we will not be staying at this hotel again--or any affiliated properties. We hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses how situations like this are handled in the future. read more

My wife and I stayed here in 2015 and gave it 5 stars. Giving it 1 star today feels generous, especially when compared to our previous stay. At check-in, the receptionist was pleasant--until she learned we were celebrating our 10-year anniversary, at which point the interaction immediately turned into a push to upsell us to a more expensive room with a "better view" and more space. We don't spend much time in our room on vacation, so the pitch felt unnecessary and tone-deaf. We declined. Things went downhill quickly. The moment we stepped off the elevator on our floor, we noticed the hallways are not air-conditioned and were uncomfortably hot. Waiting for elevators in that heat--while watching five or six full elevators pass by--was infuriating. Our room (1428) had a noticeable mildew smell every time the jet-engine-loud AC kicked on. The door seals are terrible; opening the balcony door with even a slight breeze creates an unbearably loud whistling from rushing air. This is basic maintenance, not nitpicking. The property has also clearly shifted priorities. The hammocks along the water--one of the nicest touches--are gone, replaced with as many rental cabanas as possible, obstructing the view unless you pay more. The pool is uncomfortably cold. Then there's the cost creep: a $52 resort fee (which is actually $61.34 with tax) plus $65 valet parking. That's $126.34 PER DAY on top of what you already paid just to stay here. For what? Hot hallways, long elevator waits, and tired facilities? What made this experience sting even more was that we came here after staying at the Andaz in Maui, where the staff upgraded our room, gave us flowers, wine, and food and drink vouchers for our anniversary, and treated us with genuine warmth. The contrast could not have been more stark. Here, the staff felt tired, irritated, and largely absent. We traveled with our two young boys, and by day two they were asking if we could fly back to the other hotel. That says everything. This stay felt like a shell of what it once was--uninspired, transactional, and stripped of the hospitality that used to make it special. It was a disappointing way to end our Hawaii trip and our 10-year anniversary. I included a photo of the one redeeming quality: you can still get a nice view without buying into an upsell. We are certain we will stay elsewhere the next time we visit Oahu. read more

Sheraton Waikiki is fine on the surface, but it falls short in a lot of ways. No room service is a total bust for a place charging these rates. The ground-floor amenities are solid, but all the restaurants basically share the same menu, so the food gets old fast--even if it's decent. I skipped the infinity pool--it's not set up for families anyway. The kids' pool works if you're willing to fight people for benches just to hold your towels while your kid plays in what feels like pee-soaked pools and jacuzzis. The kids' slides are a joke--barely worth climbing the ladder for. Not my kind of scene. A friend and her daughter stayed in a ridiculously priced "penthouse" that wasn't even on the top floor. Stepping onto the beach feels like downtown NYC traffic--jammed and claustrophobic. If you actually like the ocean and hate crowded pools, this isn't your spot. It's convenient, sure, but for what they're charging, there are way better places in Waikiki. read more

I stayed for a week, Saturday thru Saturday in a 15th floor, Oceanview room. Check in process was smooth. The hotel has nice amenities and is conveniently located in the middle of the Waikiki strip. The pool areas are separated with adults only infinity pool and a shared pool for families that includes hot tub and waterslides. The infinity pool offers covered cabana that I would say is overpriced for the level of service. There was a low level of direct personal service and a guest who doesn't drink alcohol is pretty much left out. The hotel does not offer room service at all which is a negative point. The stores, the location, the views all top notch. Overall the stay was enjoyable. read more

We stayed here for our Hawaii trip and enjoyed our time! It's a great location if you want to enjoy Waikiki- the beach is right there, they have a good pool, and great restaurants and shopping just steps away. The Room Regular sized hotel room, no problems for us here. Everything was clean and the service was good. There were enough elevators so we never felt like we had to wait too long. Great view from our room of Diamond Head and the Royal Hawaiian and we enjoyed spending time on our lanai. Hotel Property This place is BUSY. Even at night the lobby area was crowded with people milling about. Very convenient location- a good restaurant (Rum Fire) on site, a Lawson convenience store, other gift shops on property as well. Parking is expensive (but it is everywhere in Waikiki). We enjoyed the activities for kids- making a lei, making a bracelet, koi fish feeding, etc. Pool We didn't check out the adults only infinity pool but the regular pool was nice. It's actually like 2 pools with a little water slide connecting it so there was plenty or room to move around. However, you'll need to get there either early or late in the afternoon to grab a pool chair. Not much shade for the chairs except under the trees close to the hotel building but there are a few rows that will be in the shade for a few hours before midday. We ended up renting a cabana for one of the days we had reserved for the beach/pool. The beach is steps away from the pool so the easy access was great. Surrounding Area The Royal Hawaiian hotel is right next door and so is the Royal Hawaiian shopping center. You're in the heart of Waikiki so all the touristy stuff is within walking distance. Lots of great restaurants and shopping, it's a great area to be in! read more

The Sheraton is a beautiful hotel in a great location in Waikiki. It is an easy walk to other resorts and shopping on Kalakaua Avenue. Being Bonvoy Elite members, we enjoyed the extra amenities. For top-tier elite members, there is a little shop where you can fill a bag with free candies, drinks, and souvenirs. In our rooms were complementary water bottles with cute turtles on them. We were able to check in and go straight to our rooms by noon. Our rooms were on the 26th floor. My mom had a gorgeous view of Diamond Head, while our room overlooked the ocean and downtown area of Waikiki. Each room had a nice balcony with a chair for lounging. The beds were quite comfortable. I did have to ask for foam pillows because the feather ones were too thin for my liking. We had a nice big room that was accessible, even though we did not need or request it. Each room had a nice shower/tub, a safe, and a refrigerator. The Sheraton has two pools, one for age 16 and up that is an infinity pool. Seats were snatched up quickly. The other pool was open to all and was filled to the brim with kids by early afternoon. A nice slide is available, along with jacuzzis. There is easy beach access from this pool which meant extra sand made its way into the pool. A continental breakfast for two is included at the Kai Market restaurant with elite status and can be used to upgrade to more traditional breakfasts. We were fortunate enough to sit with Dana on the first day and she took amazing care of us. We requested to sit with her each of the other days as well. I love how you're able to feel free and enjoy the infinity pool, swimming pool, waterfalls, and water slide because it feels spacious. Direct views of the ocean from the infinity pool and other areas. Hit or miss on getting the best views of Diamond Head. If you decide to ride the water slide, ask the worker at the towel stand for a paper wristband even if you're wearing your Sheraton wristband. Need a paper wristband to ride the water slide. Be prepared to be turned away from one of the workers manning the water slide without one. There are a lot of places for meals, snacks and beverages. Cool to have shave ice near the swimming pool. Baskin Robbins and Cookie Corner within walking distance on the property. There are areas to relax indoors and outdoors throughout the property. Billiards table, foosball table in the lobby. I appreciate the hydration stations located on every floor to refill water. Elevator floor button is located in the center and away from the doors. Resort staff are helpful. I love using the bidet in the hotel room. Save on using toilet paper. Covered parking stalls with majority of spaces are narrow. Expect to pay a daily higher rate. Seriously worst hotel I have ever stayed! First of all, no water in the room, and the store in the hotel is not 24 hrs. Parking is $55 a day. We paid for The whole day parking, but after we check out in the morning there's no re-enter. They have free hula lessons, but end right at check out time. And when check out time is up, the door will not open anymore. No free extension for check out time not even 1 min, 2 hrs for $50. Meaning you need to check out early if you want to take the class. The chairs for the pool need reservations and cost extra money. The service sucks, hang up my phone when I'm not finished taking. Give me the look when I asked if parking is complimentary. First time in Hawaii and we decided to stay at this hotel and I do not regret it. Rooms are clean and spacious and they give complementary water bottles that are cute. We had an ocean front room and the view was spectacular. It was so conveniently close to the ocean and other shops near by. The pool area was very nice for the kids section. I unfortunately didn't make the time to go down to the infinity pool, but it was an also a nice view from my room. They had locals come and play and sing and it was nice hearing from our hotel room. I want to shout out our cleaning service lady RINA. She went above and beyond with her customer service and was the sweetest person. Always had a positive attitude when we saw her and always offered to clean our room. Gave out good recommendations around Waikiki. Hope to see her again next time we stay at Sheraton. Will definitely come back to this hotel. read more

Busy, bustling hub in upscale Waikiki section of Honolulu which gets you close to great restaurants, shopping, swimming, and most important...the beach! We spent the beginning of our Hawaii adventure in Waikiki and the Sheraton served as our home base. To fully rate this I kind of have to break it down. The room: 3 STARS. The room was small and when we arrived the AC had been off so there was this musty sea scent. I had housekeeping replace all the pillows because they smelled weird. Bathroom small for 4 to share. The view: 5 STARS. Fabulous view all the way down Waikiki beach with Diamond Head in the back ground! Clear blue water where you can see turtles surface all day long. Couldn't stop snapping pics. The pool: 4 STARS. The pool is nice with a good water slide for kids and with the heat, you need to take a dip. It's crowded though and throngs of kids make it feel a little tight. There's an infinity pool for adults that's separate. The beach: 5 BIG ONES! Our fave beach of the trip! It's Waikiki, their beach is epic for a reason! As you look down the beach you can see the hard core surfers hit up the public portion. But the hotel section here was a blast for us! My kids would have spent all day if they could. If you're not used to this latitude, don't mess with anything less than SPF 50. And reapply often! Seriously, you'll get crispy FAST! Restaurants, lobby, etc.. 4 STARS. This hotel is BUSY! The lobby is a mall, swarming with people. Getting coffee in the morning takes a long time. The beach side restaurant was nice. But after walking around we kind of got envy of the Royal Hawaiian Resort right next door. It had this cultural/historical, less crowded vibe that was more our thing. Both hotels are super close walk to an outdoor mall and the strip with shops and restaurants so you can walk to everything. Given that there's little price difference, do the Sheraton if you want to feel like you're in the middle of the action. Go next door to Royal Hawaiian if you're a history buff. The beachside restaurants at both are good (but the bill creeps up on you!) read more
