Growing up with some of the best home cooked Pakistani food, I found no need to go to any Pakistani restaurant, until I came to Kababjees. It is truly authentic, flavorful and met with great service. Some may have hit a stroke of bad luck with the service, but if you ensure to be in Faisal's hands, you will 100% have a great experience. The service here is terrible. I came here for my moms birthday and we tried to order dinner. The waiter told us that none of the rolls or the burgers were available (that is about half their menu!) we double checked with them that everything else was available before redeciding and he assured us everything else was available. When calling the waiter back to order they told us the brain masala and halwa puri was not available. The only thing that seemed to be available was their handi and karahi dishes. So we ordered from that. But honestly I wouldn't come again-plus the waiters took 20 min to come to get our order both times even when we tried to call them. Food is good, no complaints on that. Place is a decent nice place. The service is also OK. The only issue here is every time I come I wait for MORE THAN AN HOUR for food to come out, doesn't matter whether they are busy or not busy. I was told the chicken karahi takes 20 to 30 min, no problem I don't mind waiting. But more than an hour for food to come out is insane, especially when it's not busy. Okay, first time i came here about two years ago, it was terrible! Meat was all undercooked and just bland. However I decided to give this place another try (as they've expanded and talk around town is that they've improved) and I'm glad I did! Food is so much better now and tasty. I got the boneless chicken karhai and it was great. Everything I ordered was good and tasty and all cooked. Prices are very reasonable too. Its fresh karhai so it takes a while for food to be served but its worth the little wait. Great food but disappointed there was no chai on the menu. I've never heard of a Pakistani place that doesn't sell chai. Chai is a necessity at the end of any Pakistani meal. It's a small thing but will unfortunately impact my decision whether or not to come here again. They have also decorated one wall with tea kettles, which was misleading. read more

Hands down one of the best Pakistani food I have had in US. Their chicken Karahi is the best. Their wait time is a lot more compared to other restaurants but that is because they make fresh food and use fresh ingredients. We went here on a whim to try something new this past Sunday afternoon. We got a cheese kebab for my daughter and a few other things to try. We also got a 1 lb of chicken karahi, which was pretty good. I'm spoiled my mom is a great cook, so fresh chicken will never beat hers. However this was a good runner up. We got a lamb kebab, chicken wings, very tasty. We also purchased a basket of naan, lamb chops to go and a chicken biryani. All in all pretty good for the prices. Is it the best? Eh. The kebab had a weird spongy chew to it, not really very fresh tasting, did not taste like all meat, definitely more water added in. The biryani was very dry and lamb chops were fatty but well seasoned. All in all, I would return unless I found a better place with same prices. read more

So this is the second time I'm posting a review for kababjees. First experience was not great but now that I have gone here several times I would definitely give 4.5/5. Food is fresh especially the karahi's along with other scrumptious food items like malai boti, kheer, nihaari. Just one thing the service is kind of poor and that on the serving part the staff I guess is not enough thus inefficient due to customer load. You order something and waiter forgets to tell the chef and long waits for the food because usually food is all freshly made plus you order something they forget to bring and I had to remind them couple of times. Need to work on the efficiency of the staff other than that great place for filling yourself! read more

FINALLY A DECENT PAKISTANI PLACE IN THE AREA! Taste, service, cleanliness, COST, portions, ambiance - these folks have GOT IT ALL! The manager personally came out to give us our naan on a busy Saturday night and introduced himself. The waitress was incredibly helpful and nice. In general there's a dire shortage of solid Pakistani spots in NYC and Long Island, there's maybe one other place I can say I really like but they're definitely lacking in service and cleanliness. So relieved to find a place I wouldn't mind catering from for a party etc. We tried the nihari, mixed kababs including Bihari etc and chicken tikka. Everything was delicious. Kababjees has become our go-to place for desi food. The taste is always great. We especially like the freshly cooked chicken karahi, chicken behari kabab and chicken malai boti. They have also started halwa puri on the weekends which is pretty good. We also have used kababjees for catering our events on multiple occasions now. Kababjees have catered both at our home and also in event hall, and everytime the food has been on time and tastes great. People love the food at our events because of kababjees. I was suggested by a friend to have this Pakistani food. Hands down after having their food, this seems most authentic food ever you can have in the state of NY. Their food is delicious, host is awesome, staff is welcoming, clean place. Quality of food is 10/10, service 10/10. We had beef Bihari, Beef Nihari, and chicken Karahai ( their special ), they really know how to make authentic Pakistani food. This place is so so disgusting if your going as two people. These people know exactly who they need to serve the frozen/uncooked/few days old food to! They definitely know that they need to serve better or freshly made food to families that walk into their restaurant. Just so when the family walks out, they go and spread good word for the restaurant in the community. So our story from our past two visits of Kababjees, we ordered nihari, chicken tikka in the first visit. Bihari and peshawari chapli kabab in the second. OMG if your Pakistani then you grew up knowing what GOOD nihari tastes like. The nihari that this server served to us was SO COLD! and the chef added so much flour to it that it was seriously nothing less than some COLD thick SOUP!!! The chicken tikka was raw!!! You could see the blood! our second visit to kababjees, BIHARI was some..i dont even have words. I dont know what i just ate!! It was definitely a few days old and microwaved!! The same for the peshawari chapli!! *when we complained, the old man at the register said in urdu that their restaurant is a very busy restaurant. what does that even mean!!!!???? so hes allowed serve food even if its badd!!?? :/ NEVER going here again!!! Kababjees is one of my favorite restaurant's to eat at. It's a weekly thing with my brother mama we go there every Friday to eat. Their karahi and charsi tikka are amazing, but last Friday and yesterday they didn't have charsi tikka. They say it's one of their best selling items, but they ran out of stock in the afternoon. Same thing was said last Friday as well. All I'm saying if you have a best selling item than you might want to keep extra stock in the store. read more

I'm not the one to leave horrible reviews to any restaurant especially not one I haven't even tried! But this one takes the cake. If I could leave this restaurant zero stars I would. I called up this restaurant to find out if they had a table available for 6 for dine in and I would be bringing in my service dog, two different ladies had to come to the phone and ask me why I was calling as if I was speaking in a language they didn't understand (which was English) I had to repeat myself 3x then finally they both tell me they have to ask the owner if I could bring my service dog in; the lady puts the phone down and asks the owner who was apparently right next to her he tells her "I don't care what kind of dog it is they can go fuck themselves" I have never experienced such disrespect from a restaurant let alone an owner of a business. I understand maybe because they are a Muslim establishment that they may not allow services dogs or any dogs period but that's all they had to say. I am appalled and just disgusted with the response and behavior of the owner. Under no circumstances should I or anyone have to experience this. As a Pakistani Muslim that is a huge supporter of the expansion and success of other Pakistani businesses I do not recommend this restaurant! read more
