The "stuffed pepper" appetizer was literally a jalapeño dunked in besan and deep-fried like it owed someone money. The haleem was an oil slick with butter floating on top, and the Pathar ka Gosht tasted like it had been through hard times. The final straw was the chai -- stale enough to qualify as vintage. Asked for two cups; got one and was told to share it. Maybe that's their version of "family style"? A hole in the wall! A mega Indian lunch buffet located on a quieter road in Hicksville near Oyster Bay Road. A huge variety of authentic, delicious Indian food for $18 (not including tip and tax). My coworkers and I made a reservation and we took up 1/3 of the restaurant. At first, it was empty but it quickly filled up as time passed. There's also a lot of parking out in front of the restaurant. The owners are very nice and allowed us to wait inside even though only 2/12 people of our party arrived. In fact, when 7/12 people of our group arrived, we went ahead to dig in! My favorites were the samosa and Pani Puri. Most people liked the variety of meats and sauces including chicken, fish, and lamb. The garlic naan was also very fresh and buttery. Additionally, they had a lot of crunchy biscuits. There were options of both rice and noodles as well. My coworkers recommended the crunchy flour bits mixed with yogurt and it was great too! The mango lassi was very thick and flavorful. It was more sour and gingery than most others I've tried. Drinks are not included in the buffet. Sodas are an additional $3 and mango lassi is an additional $6. There was kulfi ice cream as well! Lastly, there is a complimentary Marsala tea that is so good! So many enriching flavors in that tiny cup of tea. Very nice place! Definitely recommend! Came back here for the first time since the pandemic and absolutely in love with the buffet. We used to order chicken vindaloo, goat vindaloo and their biriyani for delivery, all great. But this buffet - was something else. First thing my husband and I loved was the rasam which we started with as soup. The consistency was just 'right', it didn't have the usual rasam-clutter in it and was truly a delight. Perfect for this weather. I had a lot of chaat, for the pani part, I used rasam which took it up another level. Goat paya, fish curry, biriyani, chicken wings, tandoori chicken, everything was really good. I was obsessed with the chai which I refilled in their cute cups several times. The dessert - double ka meetha was epic!!! Simple and delicious. The food is fine but surprised they have raised the prices so exorbitantly. $28-$29 for one Briyani is damn expensive, even in Manhattan city at a good Indian restaurant they don't charge these prices. From entrance to end, everything is classy. So this buffet is a unique experience, they serve buffet just like 5-6 course meal, each item has the best quality. First they serve you with appetizer, then they serve with veg/no veg Bar bq dishes like chicken, goat, and fish- all dishes with utmost delicious taste. If you chose non/veg as I am, you get chicken, bar b q meat, ( halal), meat bar bq, and fish fry. Then, they serve three types of curries, ( chicken Zalzala, chicken chicken murgh Masala, shrimp curry ), you hardly fishing that then they serve you with THE world famous (Hyderabadi BIRYAN - chicken and mutton with desi Raita) later they serve you with desert. Came here for a lunch with my husband on Friday afternoon. Food was good but there are a few things that I didn't like. - we couldn't order anything off the menu during lunch. It was only the buffet available. -meat as chicken was overly cooked to the point of being dry and slightly burned (appetizers) - not a traditional buffet and it felt like the servers were very cheap with servings. For example goat curry I was served so much curry and masala but only one piece of meat that was entirely bone. I really just wanted the chicken 65 and haleem but since we couldn't order it while dining out we placed a take out order. The guy came and took our order but when we went to pay for it he forgot to make half the items we wanted so that was a fail. Very small order of haleem for $13. Biryani was good but for the price it had one or two pieces of goat not worth it. Food was good overall but I wasn't feeling the buffet vibe and over cooked items. A hidden gem. I tried this place because they were known for their haleem so I had to try it. It was definitely worth it. We ordered the chicken manchurian, chicken 65, mutton haleem, mutton dum biriyani, garlic naan and laccha paratha. Oh and mango lassi. Everything was delicious. The paratha wasn't what I was looking for but it was soft and there were layers so I still like it. The serving size and the prices are good. The customer service is awesome, everyone is so kind. Expensive & hit or miss. The food needs to be consistent with their biryani and other dishes. Everytime we order it's never the same. Sometimes it good and sometimes it not edible. I don't think I've ever personally seen a restaurant screw up an order this badly. We needed 2 trays of biryani delivered for a party so we placed an order about a week in advance. People were supposed to arrive around 6 - we requested the order be delivered at 4 because we figured the food would arrive by 5 even if something went wrong. 5:30 rolls around and we haven't heard anything from the restaurant. It's bad enough that we have to be the ones to call them to get any info on our order that was already 1.5 hours late. What's worse is that they tell us our food was still being prepared and would arrive "no later than 6:45". It's now around 7:15 and we still haven't heard anything from the restaurant. We have to call them again - this time though, they say the biryani is ready and they're on their way! Oh wait no, I got that mixed up - the latest update is actually that the entire staff has locked themselves out of the restaurant with no clear idea of whether the biryani is finished ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Our family is split about 50/50 on whether they're making this up to buy time or if they're actually locked out. To be honest, I'm not sure which one is worse. They said they called a locksmith to come break the lock so I'm now in charge of driving to Pista House and hopefully getting the food as soon as they're able to get in. I approach the restaurant and lo and behold, a locksmith pulls in right in front of me. So I guess the cooks that were supposed to be working on the biryani along with the entire rest of the staff decided to step out of the restaurant at the same time, not bring their keys, and let the door close behind them. I ask if I'll be able to grab the food once they get the lock open and they tell me it's going to be minimum 20 minutes of cooking once they get inside. For food that's now 4 hours late. I cancel the order right there and head home. I wish I could tell you how the food was but we never got to try it and were left waiting for nothing. This has truly been such an amazing experience topped off with even more amazing food. The gobi manchurian was my absolute favorite along with their infamous Hakeem. Everything was spiced to perfection, I love how they didn't skimp out, and portion sizes were generous as well. Came here tonight with some friends for dinner. It was a group of us so I'm not going to go through everything we ate. Overall I'd give 4 stars for everything. The food was very nicely flavored and authentic. 2-3 pieces of my chicken was undercooked, not a huge deal. The waiters were nice but all appetizers were not served together nor was the entrees or deserts. It was sort of scattered serving. At the end of the night we had to ask someone else for the receipt as our waiter didn't come back to our table. It's known for larger groups that gratitude is automatically taken, but we didn't even know what percentage it was until we got the receipt ourselves. They do not serve alcohol here so you have to bring your own liquor. The decor was plain and simple, lots of wood on the wall and floors. Bathroom was kept clean as well. If I am in the area I will return. More of a take out place than dine in. read more

Probably the only authentic real hyderabadi restaurant in long island(now that Godavari is closed). The buffet appears small but they bring starters fresh from kitchen to table, along with naan. The curries were delightful and safe to stay, they tasted close to the high end Indian restaurants. In addition, free goat Haleem was served as well. It is 17$ per head. Dessert options could be better. Biriyani tasted good but some people would like it more spicy. The location is not convenient and it will need some google maps directions to take you to this place. The buffet is not perfect but it is the closest to the authenticity of South Indian food that is lacking in most Indian restaurants. "Biryani before Bae". Definitely a must try for their Biryani. We have tried the vegetarian and the chicken Biryani and both were great. Usually we get Biryani to go. We also came here for a lunch buffet on the weekend and the place in terms of décor is alright but the food is good and the owners are very attentive to the needs of the customer. They really take care of you. If something is not to your liking, they will go out their way to make you something you will enjoy, even for items on the buffet menu. The buffet is very extensive and there are a lot of items for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The bring out the appetizers fresh rather than leave them on the buffet table. It's a bit pricier than other buffet's in the area, but its totally worth the few extra bucks. It sucks its in a bit of an awkward location, if it was on the main road, maybe more people would know about it and come more often. Biryani to go is our go to here because there aren't many places in the area that make it as well, but we will definitely be visiting this place again! read more

I used to go to this restaurant frequently for Hyderabadi Biryani, Food used to be okay and I stopped going to this restaurant from past one year because one of the lady partner in the restaurant is Greedy, she thinks customers are dumb and she can do whatever she wants . They usually sell Groupon codes for $30 and make you to spend more than $30 in restaurant and she includes tip in bill even for a single person , when people ask any questions she says it is what it is. I use to go to this place my family all the time. We started going there because we heard from our friends how good the food was. And we were not disappointed. But overtime I have realized the lack of care this place has for it's customers. The least you can do is be honest. Many times we have ordered things from there and the item was not what we ordered. We get biryani all the time from there we know what it tastes like, so if you don't have it at the time just tell me and I will order something else. You don't have to give me a fake biryani. Today we ordered chicken mughlai, which we also get all the time because of it's tasty nutty flavor. But that is not what I received today, I got a plain butter chicken tasting entree. It was so plain, tastes like butter and heavy cream. It is not chicken mughlai. Also the naan was so raw! The biryani today was awful. The Rita they gave us smelled so bad and old. And when I try to let them know what they did, instead of apologizing they act ignorant. I have a business too and many times I have apologized when something was clearly not my fault. But they want to act like they don't know what I'm talking about. I thought in a time like this we should support a small business, but their food is just not of the quality it use to be. Amazing place that serves authentic cuisine of Andhra / Telangana and royal Hyderabadi Nizam. If you want to try specialities beyond chicken tikka masala, go and try their buffet. The management is very slick and charged me a service fee without even mentioning it to us, because she came over with an iPad asking for a tip and then charged me and walked away (I had to ask for a paper receipt to even see what she charged after). Then when I brought it up (because I paid almost $50 in tip alone for only 3 dishes) they had the audacity to start arguing because I said that they should at least mention to the customer a service fee has already been added. Really great Indian food! The gobi manchuria , chicken 65, butter chicken, naan, and chicken biriyani were fabulous! The butter chicken had such deep flavor and the portion was big with a lot of pieces of chicken. The chicken 65 had good spice and flavor. The service was fast, the restaurant wasn't busy so within 15 minutes we got all of our food. The waiter was efficient and nice. The place looks sketchy and isolated from the outside but trust me it's definitely worth a try! Will be going back again read more
