Tasty chicken, nice rice, hummus and pomegranate juice. Personable service. Then I got the bill! $33.00 plus 5.00 tip for a simple lunch. Outrageous. Man, I was really excited to eat here. Unfortunately, it just didn't live up to the hype. First, the good. I ordered the #1 beef tika meal. The beef was delicious and perfectly cooked. The rice was decently seasoned but only above average. Now for the bad. First, the portion size was quite small. Five pieces of steak, barely more than one bite each. Decent amount of rice but for almost $20, I'm now sitting in my hotel room with no more food and hungry. It came with a small portion of plain Romain lettuce and some cucumber, onion, and tomato salad. Neither had any kind of dressing. They did send a white maybe it's tzatziki sauce that was pretty bland, and some kind of spicy but bland green sauce. Neither would qualify as dressing for those salads in my opinion. I've been to this place many times, and it's always been very good. Today's visit was just okay. There was a very nice girl behind the counter, but the owner was in a really bad mood and just seemed meaner than usual. The other gripe I have is their "cucumber salad" that is served with all of their meals. It used to be very flavorful with lots of cucumbers, parsley, some sort of seasoning with a few onions. Now, it's almost all onions and they are very strong (meaning they are old) and just a few cucumbers with no seasoning. Their meat and rice is still very good though. - There meat is actually very good, just needs a little better side salad and better attitude. read more

The salad was not even a salad. It was lettuce, crunch, and ranch pita bread I wouldn't say it's pita or non-I would say it well different type save your money and go elsewhere. They don't even give you onions or tomatoes or jalapeños on your meal, their tzatziki is very watery and for the price you can get a lot more for your buck. Sometimes life calls for grilled meat. Chicken. Beef. Lamb. It doesn't really matter. As long as it is well seasoned and cooke right, that is the important thing. For lunch today I stopped by Kabob Express and ordered a chicken and beef sultani plate (#8). It came with chunks of grilled chicken and beef. Plus rice, lettuce salad and cucumber/tomato salad. Not to mention two different sauces and piece of Afghan naan bread. Most everything was good. Highlights include the chicken and beef. Seasoned well and cooked perfectly with just the right amount of char. Low points included the lettuce salad which had gotten hot sitting next to the rice and meat. I also would have appreciated more than a wedge shaped piece of naan (about 1/4 of a full flat bread). I put some rice and a piece of chicken on what I got and made a little sandwich out of it. The rest was just eaten straight up with a fork. Over all, the food I received today was enjoyable. I ate every bit of it. I think it was cooked to order so it was fresh. That said, it took a little while to get my order because of the freshness. Not exactly "express" but I appreciate having food that has not been sitting out all day so good on them for that. read more

Such an amazing kabob place! I was craving kabobs and discovered this restaurant off of the corner of Tropicana and Eastern. The parking lot was pretty spacious but dark. When I entered I was immediately greeted by a man in the register. He was very patient as I looked over the menu to decide what I wanted. He was multitasking and packing up an order while waiting for us to decide and showed us one of the packed orders. It was the sultani plate which consisted of 3 kabobs. It looked amazing and he recommended it since it's their best seller. We ordered that, along with an order of the beef kabobs, and hummus. The restaurant is open seating, so we sat at a table and patiently waited for our food. The ambiance of the place is very homey and authentic. They have a TV playing and the vibes were very nice. When we got our order we were very surprised by how large the portions are. The hummus was amazing and the pita bread was soft and warm. The kebabs were extremely tender and I enjoyed the side salad and cucumber sauce. We ended up taking home about half of the food and enjoying the rest the next day. It still tasted just as good. Overall I would definitely come back here for the kabobs. The service was great and the food was even better. I hope to come back and try other things on the menu as well. Really loved the flavour and spices, juicy tender chicken and fresh salad alongside mint chutney & tahziki. The gyro lamb meat was so tender and their quantity was great too. As I don't eat beef I got it substituted for chicken and they were kind enough to do it. Also got free yoghurt drink when I checked in on Yelp :) The staff there were very welcoming! It took around 10-15mins for our order to arrive. In the meantime we were distracted by the songs and the ambience around was cosy!
