My girlfriend and I had dinner together Saturday night. She has been going to Zaytoon for years and suggested we go there for dinner. It was my first time and it will be a regular dinner place in the future. We ordered a hummus and flat bread appetizer that was really good. The flatbread is made fresh and warm from the oven. The hummus was made fresh from scratch and served with the bread. They were delicious. My girlfriend ordered the chicken kabob with rice and cucumber salad. I ordered the lamb kabob with the Mediterranean salad. We had the Persian baklava for dessert. Nelly and I went to Zaytoon for lunch, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The gentleman behind the register and our waitress, Rahmeh, were both exceptional. They were warm, friendly, helpful, and you could genuinely tell they have kind souls. The food was amazing: fresh, authentic, healthy, and full of flavor. Zaytoon has that simple, homey, low-key feel, but the quality of the food is outstanding. They were also very accommodating with our requests, including no heavy butter on the rice, and they made great suggestions. They also have wonderful Middle Eastern desserts, which I'm excited to try next time, along with all kinds of authentic delicacies and specialty store goods you can bring home. I used to have a Jordanian woman work for me who made makdous, and I was so happy to see they had it there. You can tell this place is truly authentic and rooted in Middle Eastern flavor and hospitality. My family is always looking for Middle Eastern restaurants on our trips to Vegas. Loved visiting the marketplace and restaurant at Zaytoon Restaurant. It is the best one that we've found so far. Came to Zaytoon on a Friday night. Walked in and explored the marketplace while waiting for a table for three. Not sure if they take reservations. The marketplace is fabulous. Loved going up and down the aisles filled with so many amazing treats from the Middle East. Halva. Tahini. Spices like za'atar and sumac. Bamba. Bissli. Baked goods. Fruits and vegetables. Check out the extensive baklava offerings. Turkish Baklava. Armenian Baklava. Greek Baklava. Iranian Baklava. Filled with pistachios, walnuts, chocolate. Shaped like carrots, small squares, diamonds and mussels. The cases hold other sweet treats. Halva. Turkish Delights. Sold by the pound. They also have a large selection of Israeli and kosher products. They have Israeli snacks like Bamba and Bissli, challah, matzah and a kosher deli. They even have shampoo and soaps from Israel. Fun to shop for halva and baked goods, while we waited for a table. For dinner, started with a fresh shirazi salad and a Kashke Bademjaan, a fried eggplant dip. So delicious with the freshly baked flatbread! Loved the Fesenjaan. Tender cuts of chicken breast marinated in a pomegranate and walnut sauce served with basmati rice and shirazi salad. Fesenjaan is one of my favorite Persian dishes. Love the sweet and tangy sauce with the juicy chunks of chicken mixed with the basmati rice. I took half to go. Although my father-in-law wanted chicken or kebab, basmati rice and vegetables, the guys ordered two meatball specials. Two huge meatballs with basmati rice, my husband devoured his while my father-in-law took half to go. Finished the meal with fresh hot baklava. With honey, filo dough and chopped nuts, it was literally the sweetest way to end a delicious meal. Service from Saam and Rahmeh was wonderful. Our food was so delicious. Our hot tea and water glasses were always refilled. They checked on us as if they had welcomed us into their family home. Lots of parking available. It is about a 20 minutes drive from the strip. Return or not return? Maybe. Great reviews, great service, and food pleasant, but not outstanding. The benchmark for really good kebabs is DishDash (in the Bay Area) and they are not quite there. Started with complimentary bread - outstanding. Airy and light. I ordered the chicken kebab koobideh combo. Ended up being a little dry bc too much rice and one meager tomato and a little bit of onion. They charge $1.50 for another tomato, another $1.50 for extra onions, and then $2 for garlic sauce. These add-ons weren't powerful enough to over-ride the need for moisture. Garlic sauce tasted fine, but wasn't liquid-y enough. Falafel was a little dry as well, but the accompanying sauce helped a lot (and may be a better accompaniment for the kebab). I actually enjoyed the koobideh over the kebab. Nice flavor and consistency. Overall, not a bad experience though not something where I'd echo the over the top reviews. read more

An adoring shout out again to Zaytoon for a fabulous lunch during a weekend visit. We brought family who had never been there and they all loved it. I highly recommend visiting and trying the Barg and Koobideh. Or just get the Soltani because you get both, and make sure to get the Animal Style if you like a bit of spice and sauce. Food: Amazing. I was craving good koobideh kabob and zereshk polo and this place did not disappoint. It tasted like home cooking to me and I was so so pleased with it. Fresh, hot, juicy and long strips of meat in the entree plate was exactly what I needed. The zereshk was plentiful and gave a sweet flavor to the rice. The usual grilled tomato was also juicy. Service: Fast and friendly. They are very welcoming and are great about refilling drinks when needed. The food came out reasonably quickly and I have zero complaints about that. Ambiance: Feels like a normal, family friendly place to bring everyone or meet with a friend over a good meal. They decorated with quotes that attempt to give a pleasant and positive atmosphere. This was our first time trying Iranian food and it was delicious! Our server was great, she was so friendly. For starters we ordered their homemade Hummus and Masto Kahir (home made yogurt and cucumber) with their fresh warm bread. We tried their most popular dish - Koobideh Kabob and a side of lamb chops, we wanted to try. The basmati rice with saffron had a light and airy taste not too heavy. This a hidden secret. My friend Reza took me and I can't wait to go back. A new experience in Persian food. I felt like was in the home of the chef which I met with his wife. Our server spook beautiful French while you could hear patrons speaking Farsi. The Lavash was best I've had. The dual rice with saffron and barberry was new to me and delicious. I eat here often and the food is so heavenly. I love everything but my favorite dish is the ghormeh sabzi. The price is very good for the quality of food. Zaytoon Restaurant is located at Twain/Durango inside a large shopping plaza. The restaurant also has a market space inside too that has a deli and fresh juice! Zaytoon offers a wide range of kabobs, seafood, specialty dishes like Gheimeh, sandwiches, and so much more! The service here is outstanding! When we first walked in, the team members greeted us and informed us that we could sit at any open table. When we found a table, immediately, a team member brought over waters and a menu. Since it was our first time here, it took us several minutes to review the menu. My daughter enjoyed looking at all of the pictures next to each entree! She ended up selecting the Lamb Chops with Rice! One of the team members had recommended the Chicken Soltani, which had a chicken kabob and beef kabob. While waiting for the entrees, complimentary bread was provided with butter. It was like a giant cracker with seasonings on top! It was delicious! Everything was cooked fresh. We didn't mind the wait time as it was busy inside the restaurant! We ended up waiting about 30 minutes for the entrees, but it was totally worth it! This place is dangerously close to my home and attached to an adorable and authentic middle eastern grocery store. At first I didn't realize the restaurant was connected to the grocery, but that just makes sense. I interacted with three different people while taking my to go order and they were all sincere and seemed grateful for my business. Love they asked if I wanted hot sauce and offered the sumac because that was a flavor I had not previously experienced. All the workers were hugging people in the restaurant and that is *always* a good sign in my book. But now. The real reason you're here. I opted for the chicken soltani kabobs that came with fire roasted onion, tomato and I did half salad half rice, as well as a side of shirazi salad after I saw pictures. The salads were honestly my favorite things! Super fresh and not heavy. Wonderful flavor. The dill dressing has a tang that I'm obsessed with. Also got the bread (way bigger than I expected!) kind of cracker where the bubbles were and a more chewy, thinner type lavash and the baklava! I had one bite of the baklava before I ate my food and knew I had to put it on the other side of the room so I didn't eat all my dessert first. Next time I'll be sure to get pickles and a sauce to go with, if I'm getting kabobs, but hoping to try something different on the next go round. Instantly impressed with the vibe, customer service, and the ambient smells of the food being served in this restaurant as soon as we walked in for the very first time. It is a very intimate dining room sharing the space with a gorgeous boutique market that is extremely clean, well stocked, fresh, and brimming with Persian and other Middle Eastern groceries. Everything on the menu looked delectable, and the prices are very fair. Portion sizes were perfect on our plates and the plates of the tables next to us. Three business partner owners were working together with a very attentive staff. Everyone seemed to really enjoy working there and there was a personal touch unlike any other restaurant that I frequent in town. All of the dining customers seemed very pleased with their choices, and the general vibe was very happy and content.
