Stopping by and needed a place for a good Mediterranean bite. This is the place to go . Lots of people getting takeout. We ordered for in with chicken sharwma sandwiches, beef kebab dinner and baba ganoush. Plenty of pita and special garlic sauce was given. All was so tasty and hit the spot. read more

My favorite place for Middle Eastern food and there are a lot of choices in the area. The salads are so fresh and the house made vinaigrette is bursting with flavor. So I've been back since my last disappointment. Unfortunately, it's not better. I've been coming here since they opened at the Redford Plaza but I think I need to find a new place. A friend took me to a place on the east side called the Kabob House and they are what the Kabob Inn used to be. I suppose times change and whoever was cooking the food back in the day has moved on. Most recently I got a chicken shawarma salad and there was a weird gristly, fatty hunk of chicken and a bunch of hard bits mixed into the chicken. It wasn't spiced as I thought it should be, I also think it was less chicken than before. The good news is, there are plenty of places to get a shawarma around here so, I'll be adventurous. I usually love this place for their salads, but I always order carry out. Well today I decided to eat inside and order the delicious salad I normally order. Well this was a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!! As sat there for about 20 minutes no one came out so I waited and next a couple came in after 25 minutes and 10 seconds later the waitress appeared (she does exists!! ) Well first I'm greeted with I didn't know you were here? This place is great! Large and roomy interior, very clean. I like the iPads with the menu. They also have buttons on the table to call the waiter, which is cool. I absolutely LOVE this place!!! I don't eat meat...only seafood. So I'm a fan of the salmon dinner with almond rice & a Greek salad - sooooo good!! This is a really nice place. I had carry out and dining. So far I've had their chicken shawarma, falafel, and their burgers. I've also had their delicious fries. Everything is very good but sometimes you have to wait a while because it seems like they don't cook fast enough or it's not that many people working there. This place is outstanding. The Arabic salad is always fresh, crisp and colorful. I realize many call it a 'Lebanese salad', but, trust me, all of the Arab world makes this and everything else. So give me a break with that proprietary nonsense. The hummus is perfect, smooth and generously served (not 1 micron in thickness smeared all over a tiny plate to look bountiful...makes me hummus-cidal). No, this was, seriously, a lot of hummus. Bless you, my child! The kabob cubes are tender, moist and perfectly grilled every time. I do think they could give you a bit more meat, though. But it isn't a rip off. Those are fine meat cubes, indeed. They gave me their word they'd maintain this level of quality as so many get greedy and skimp on quality once they get popular (Warren Ave in East Dearborn, I'm looking at you guys). I went back after a month and it is still good. No, not just good. Excellent. They include the tip in the bill, so beware. I think that is an odd practice. Maybe they've been stiffed a lot or something. You could pay a double tip by accident. I don't like this idea. And the menu isn't groundbreaking. It is standard fare. No problem, though, it is great food served very fresh. Finally, one Arabic joint around here that doesn't make me sad! I'll be back! read more

This is an unassuming place in the corner of a strip mall, and I'm sure a lot of people have never noticed it. Kind of just looks like a typical coney diner, inside and out. [*UPDATE: They've moved to a bigger, better location, right on Telegraph. Food is as great as ever, if not better (I now say their hummus is the best around), there's more staff now, and it's a great space. I bumped up my review from 4 to 5 stars. 3/5/14] Probably because I live right down the street from it, my family ended up giving Kabob Inn a try right when it opened up, maybe 3 or 4 years ago. It was surprisingly good then, and still is. If you like Middle Eastern food -- heck, even if you may not -- give this place a try. The food here ranges from good to great all around. There is a decent selection of typical American fare (burgers, sandwiches, fries - all pretty tasty) to please someone who may not be in the mood for Middle Eastern. Some things I particularly remember enjoying: the rice, hummus, the garlic dipping sauce, any of their wrap sandwiches, and the smoothies. Once my husband ordered a lamb dish in which the lamb was just a touch dry, but everything else has always been excellent. The pita bread isn't quite in the league of the wood-fired oven bread freshly made at a couple of the other local Middle Eastern places, but for what it is, it's good. (It's just hard to beat fresh-made bread, hot out of the oven. Maybe one day this place will get one of those oven setups, in which case, I'd never have a reason to go anywhere else.) Went here a lot with a specific craving for their hummus and tabouli wraps (delicious and very cheap, too) when I was pregnant, and always came away happy. My kids love the smoothies and fries, along with other stuff here. The service is always friendly. The only other points I can think of to make are that the ambiance may lack a little bit, and parking may sometimes be an issue in the main lot - even though it's in a strip mall, the spots tend to fill up. Ordered a falafel plate and was delivered a falafel sandwich. When I called to tell them, a rude worker by the name of Mina insisted that I ordered the sandwich and that I would need to contact door dash after I repeatedly told her that the issue was with there menu! I don't need to contact anyone, they need to work on their customer service skills. By the way the worst Falafel sandwich I ever had, was inedible. Sharawa is good. Chicken creme job was a bit over done for my liking. Crush lentil soup as okay, Very robust menu. I would definitely go back, I'd just stick to the shawarma. Phone ordering was fast and easy, pickup was even faster. read more

This isn't the closest middle-eastern restaurant to me, but it is one of the best. I tend to order their vegetarian selections quite often, and they rarely disappoint. The falafel is delicious, as is the lentil soup. I also enjoy the hummus; it's creamy with just the right amount of garlic. I also appreciate the fact that they don't litter the hummus with parsley (so annoying). The tawook is alright, but sometimes a little dry. The lamb dishes are tender, well spiced, and plenty flavorful. I always order takeout, so I can't say much about the service. However, the employees are generally courteous and have yet to get my order wrong (50 or so orders). It also appears to be an overall clean and well maintained restaurant. My only gripe is with some of the pricing. Some of the entrees can run over $15 and sandwiches can approach $5. Not out of control so definitely not a deal-breaker. Check them out read more
