Place is top notch for a Chicken Kabob. Always look forward to this type of meal. Rice is cooked perfect and the saffron is really tasty. The chicken was a little bit dry this time I think cause it took a 15 min car ride. Will continue to support this business!!

I was surprised at the portion sizes of their meal! We wanted to order take out and they recommended the lamb gyro which was delicious and great as leftovers. Plenty of parking nearby and solid menu options!

Authentic taste and great variety. You can really taste the love and effort put into the cooking. Highly recommend!" Top-notch service! Our server went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Truly appreciated the hospitality

Family run and fresh food. We had the gyro and the afghani salad (which has a yummy cilantro and jalapeño dressing). The service and food were very fast as well.

I wouldn't say this is my first time trying a kabob place but it has been a very long time. The food was decent, the size of the plate was good. I would say it was worth the $15. I would choose this over any fast food joint. You get to choose your own drink from their fridge. I drove down from rancho cordova. So would I come back yea.... If I was in the area. Their plates are worth $15. Their service was quick. We ate in and the inside is a little dull, very empty. It's great if you want to be alone with your group.

Very clean and nice place for dining and to go orders with a very professional customer service and nice behavior with customers. I really recommend everybody to come and try them. That's what we did and we were very happy with their delicious food and thanks.

There were a lot of gold accents and beautiful lighting, which absolutely added to the overall vibe of the interior. The entire environment was even calming, peaceful, and comfortable. I proceeded to order the Mango Passionfruit Refresher and a small Baklava. Oh my goodness! The drink was dynamite as well as the baklava being on point! Both items were just super tasty and exceeded expectations. This location is in the heart of downtown Sacramento. Even though the parking can get quite chaotic and busy, it was well worth the visit! I highly recommend coming here.

Sana'a Cafe is in downtown Sacramento, CA…read more I popped on into Sana'a on a weekday for a coffee and something to nosh on. I've been to a Sana Cafe in San Rafael but the first time at this location. They are franchised, independently owned coffeehouses specializing in Yemeni coffee, pasties, and light bites. The staff were direct, cordial and efficient. I asked the cashier what was their best selling drink which he said "everything is good". I believed him. However he had no recommendations. Unsolicited, the other customers in line kindly gave me some. Nice. I choose the Sana'a latte with oat milk. It was creamy and infused with cinnamon, cardamom and ginger. Luved it. Delicious. Drinking this, put me in the zone. I also ordered a ground beef fatayer and baklava. The fatayer was a savory, handheld meat pie with a yeasty dough exterior. The meat was on the dry side but by golly it had flavor. Spiced up! Not hot heat level but packed with flavor. The baklava was a tiny teeny size which surprised me and left me wanting more because it was darn tasty . They also have dessert pastries which looked all so prettily yummy behind the glass counter. Most are made with milk of some sort though. For the lactose intolerant folks, I recommend bringing a lactaid pill and going for it. The interior decor is striking. Bold gold and black colored furniture and opulent chandelier lighting fixtures dominate the room. Fancy. I'm picking up regal, posh vibes. The design aesthetics are similar in all Sana's Cafe. Plus this location is open 6am-midnight everyday. Probably one of the only urban downtown coffee houses open that late for caffeinated night owls. The cafe is a few blocks down K street from DOCO. I don't know how it's like in this area after the sun sets. Just sayin.

Dining out should be an enjoyable experience, especially now that eating out is so expensive. Between higher menu prices, added restaurant surcharges on top of regular taxes, and the expected 20% tip, you really want the meal to be worth it. My husband ordered the beef kebab ($28), which was served as cubes of beef over rice. The meat was spongy and very chewy, and the presentation was not appealing. He ate the rice but could not eat the meat, and we ended up taking it home for our dog. I ordered the beet salad ($17). It was decent, but not great. We also ordered fries, which were actually good--covered with cheese and olives--and ended up being the main thing we enjoyed. In the end, the total bill, including the added restaurant tax, regular tax, and tip, did not feel justified for what we received. I do want to note that the waiter was friendly, and the owners were also welcoming, which we appreciated. Overall, while the service was pleasant, the food quality did not match the price.

She'd noticed my growing curiosity about Afghan cuisine from a previous visit elsewhere and gently pointed me toward Chopan Kabob House, insisting it was worth the experience. There was something comforting in that recommendation--like being guided toward a place that already held meaning for someone you trust. When I arrived, I was immediately struck by the restaurant's clean, welcoming atmosphere. The space felt intentional--nicely furnished without being overwhelming, simple yet warm. I mentioned I was ordering takeout, and the gentleman behind the counter handed me a menu. At first glance, it seemed straightforward, but the more I looked, the more it felt thoughtfully curated--each item carrying a sense of tradition and care. Wanting a proper introduction, I chose the Combination Kabob with Tikka and chicken. It felt like the right balance--a way to experience more in a single meal. I was told it would take about 20 minutes, and as I sat waiting, I found myself appreciating that detail. In a world built on speed, those 20 minutes felt reassuring. It suggested intention, freshness, and the kind of cooking that isn't rushed. When I finally brought the meal home and opened the container, I was genuinely surprised. The portions were generous--almost abundant. A vibrant salad added a refreshing contrast, while the long-grain rice was fragrant and perfectly cooked. Then there were the stars of the meal: the Tikka beef and the chicken, both beautifully prepared. Each bite carried depth--layers of spices and seasoning that felt both bold and comforting. It wasn't just flavorful; it felt rooted in something deeper, something traditional. By the time I finished, I realized this wasn't just a satisfying meal--it was an experience that lingered. There's a certain nostalgia in discovering a place like this for the first time, especially through the recommendation of someone close to you. It feels personal, almost like being let in on a secret. I'm already looking forward to returning, perhaps next time to dine in and take in the full experience. And with a menu that promises more to explore, this feels less like a one-time visit and more like the beginning of a new favorite.
