01.23.2026 - KABOB PALACE - ELK GROVE, CA - I ordered their combination and it came with beef, chicken and some veggies. Upon entering the restaurant, the man at the register greeted me with a warm welcome. I ordered take out and ordered their combo. It came with Afghan Naan, Basmati Rice, Charbroiled Beef and Chicken topped with veggies and Tzatziki. So delicious! I would return again. It was definitely worth it. They sell Baklava at the front register and that is something I would like to try one day. The place is clean and the workers there are extremely nice. read more

Was in the area and looking to try something new. My girlfriend had been here a number of times, with growing up in Elk Grove. And having also gone to thos place for lunch, and because I really enjoy Mediterranean food. I decided to give it a try for dinner. Stopped in around 8:30 and were the only patrons in the restaurant for that part of the evening. I looked over the menu and asked several questions about dishes, and decided on the two meat plate. I ordered the chicken and beef skewers option, which came with rice, a vegetable medley of shredded lettuce, cabbage and carrots, and pitabread with a green sauce in the side. Total: $21.00 Everything was fine until, I took a bite of the rice and realized there was plastic in my food. *see picture* I hadn't eaten much of the food yet, and unfortunately was pretty much dknewith my meal after that. Overall: Female staff member was really nice and very helpful in. She was also very social. Meal was a little on the pricier side in my opinion, for a two meat Kabob plate. Jist good g off other similar Kabob dishes I get being around $15. Food tasted good, but I couldn't get past the plastic in my food and didn't finish the rest. And unfortunately most of my food was left when I found it, since it was near the top of rice. read more

The portion sizes and ratio of meat to rice makes me upset every time! I stopped paying for food from here myself a long time ago because I feel like I'm paying $20+ for mostly rice and its not justifiable. Of course though if someone else is willing to buy then I'm usually willing to eat it. I got the beef kabob plate. It was MAYBE 2.5-3oz of meat. And the flavor and care just isn't there for me anymore as it was before (been going since they were located at Franklin and Laguna). Unfortunately, at this point I'd rather go spend money at one of the many CHAIN restaurants that now surrounds them and feel satisfied that my or loved one's hard earned money goes a lot further than eat food from here again. The world sucks right now and everything is expensive so I just want to at least enjoy my (expensive) food! read more

The rice was undercooked, and the salad was very stale. For $21.99, this meal was absolutely not worth the price. When I called the store, the first employee I spoke with was unprofessional and placed me on hold without any explanation. I seen this place driving by and on reviews thought it would be good. But man was I wrong. Service was decent but did take long to get the food when I opened the plate of food it was terrible. Nothing like the picture and barely any meat. The beef was tough and the naan was like a tortilla it was the worst Mediterranean food I ever ate. No sauce the salad dressing was so sour. And it wasn't even lettuce but cabbage. $53 dollars wasted. I don't know what others are saying it's good but it was far from decent. Don't waste ur money. read more

Kabab palace is a hidden gem with a cozy, intimate, and warm atmosphere. Every dish was bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. Honestly the kabab was just perfectly marinated and bolani was just right crust. The staff was attentive and accommodating. Food came on time and the waitress kept coming to ask if we need anything. I haven't been here since the pandemic. I was hoping it was still as good as before and as far as I know, it is still as good as before. I usually go to Rumis Oasis - the other Arab/ Afghan spot in this same parking lot but was directed here by Yelp when I was hungry one Sunday afternoon - I got the potato bolani and a chicken kabob plate : this kinda cuisine is always mad expensive and they are always stingy with the portions lol. The bolaniwas quite large but needed salt or some kind of seasoning was missing. The green chutney was kinda watery. The kabob was okay but the portion size was not super generous. Will I come back ? Medium sized restaurant with great food options - quaint family owned business. I had the combination chicken and ground beef kabob over rice, served with a small salad and nan. Our group of 8 also ordered hummus and nan which was delicious. The nan is not greasy and the hummus was nicely seasoned savory. My kabobs were very tasty and the basmati rice was very flavorful! The restaurant could not open our wine as it seems they do not have a license to sell alcohol. Service was great, however, the restaurant wasn't terribly busy on a Thursday evening. 0 stars if that was even possible. This new ownership has absolutely 0 customer service. Maybe hire better staff with manners? Sad to see the original owners leave. Confused as to why an AFGHAN restaurant does not serve AFGHAN bread with their dishes? why are you serving cold pita bread? Afghan bread is made and sold in abundance at tons of local markets. Portion sizes are SO SMALL. Chapli tastes like flour is mixed into it. What happened to the previous owners? Also, why are you charging a surcharge on your receipt? as of July 1st, 2024 that is illegal in California. By far the most trashiest place I have ever been! I have respect for The previous owners of this establishment and they knew what they were doing but by God Damn horrible customer service under new ownership! Mom made a request for a dish for a family member that passed away we wanted to bring a dish to pay respects for 4 people, the woman at the front saw my mom in her work jacket and charged her $80 for two scoops of rice and burnt chicken that did not look like it would feed 4 people and presentation was horrible. My mom asked why things were burnt and why there was not enough food for 4 people as requested, the lady behind the counter broke out of customer service told my mom she works for a big company based on the jacket she was wearing saying if she wasn't pinching for change and being "a cheap ass and cough up more money you get what you pay for" my mom said " excuse me?!? I work hard for my money spending $80 and I get chicken scratch burnt food and told I need to cough up and not be a cheap ass????? I dnt feed off welfare to waste government money and get paid under the table as you!" Lady fixes the dish and slams the platter infront of my mother in the counter as if it was trash then walks off swearing loud in Farsi she calls my mom a "son of a bitch greedy cheap whore" If you want to have a nice establishment and deserve respect you must show it! If you can't run a business and provide customer service don't run the business! You will definitely not see us come here again! They are very disrespectful! They speak filth and ill will about every customer in a foreign language so they wouldn't know. Collective Criticism on how food quality and quantity is if someone is spending $80 needs to be taken to account instead of insulting customers on and cursing them and think it's ok! I really hope the City of Sacramento runs check on the folks inside probably not certified to hold a food handlers certificate, give them a course on discrimination and customer service and find out if folks being paid under the table to avoid Taxes this is ridiculous! read more

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. I've gone here a few times and today I ordered a 2 chicken kebab combo. I was given a 1 kebab combo with an extra rice. I asked if they can give me another kebab and what the difference would be since I originally ordered a 2 kebab combo and she said that they don't do that that she can only sell me an extra kebab as a rice plate. She refused me several times and said I was confusing when she knew what she was doing was completely absurd! She wanted to argue instead of fix the order and I would've paid the difference of three dollars to get my two kebab Meal. I've gone there several times and have never been treated that way she had an attitude and was rude!!! be careful with this place. They must be hurting because of the economy to have to overcharge people due to their mistakes! Good riddance kebab Palace!!! read more

If I could give this place 0 stars !! I would the cashier was really disrespectful when I called in to make an order . When I arrived she only had half of the order I asked for I asked to get 2 beef kabob plates and 2 chicken kabobs she was rushing on the phone and gave the craziest attitude. When I asked to place another order, she gave me the rudest comment saying she's way too busy and cannot take any other orders. First of all you are the cashier you're not the one that's preparing food so relax, terrible terrible. Terrible never coming back here again ! The worst customer service read more

I'm torn here on my review. We got it to go and ate in our car out front. I got the beef and chicken kabob with salad, rice and bread. Mine was super fresh, hot and delicious. Chicken and beef seasoned well and really hit the spot. The beef was a little tough, but the chicken was tender. My hubs got the gyro with a super pitiful thin single slice of meat that was dry and looked and tasted like cheap lunch meat. The gyro was small compared to gyros we've gotten other places. He was left feeling like he had an appetizer and not a very good one. He got a double double on the way home. Friendly service. Masks were worn. Plastic screen up around cashier and kitchen area. My stars split the distance for my review. read more

Mixed reviews here - kabobs weren't "kabobs" -- they were off the stick which was weird, but ok. The chicken and steak had good seasoning; however the steak was overcooked and tough. The rice is good as is the bread and the dressing that was likely for the salad was great in the bread! read more

My husband ordered the beef kebab ($28), which was served as cubes of beef over rice. The meat was spongy and very chewy, and the presentation was not appealing. He ate the rice but could not eat the meat, and we ended up taking it home for our dog. I ordered the beet salad ($17). It was decent, but not great. We also ordered fries, which were actually good--covered with cheese and olives--and ended up being the main thing we enjoyed. In the end, the total bill, including the added restaurant tax, regular tax, and tip, did not feel justified for what we received. I do want to note that the waiter was friendly, and the owners were also welcoming, which we appreciated. Overall, while the service was pleasant, the food quality did not match the price.
