    Family Platter

We got the family platter for four. All the meats were well seasoned with a lot of flavor cooked to perfection. Service was great and fast. Every time we crave kabob, we come here. Give it a shot you won't be disappointed.

I believe this establishment has undergone some management changes but unconfirmed. The menu has been updated. The seating has also been updated as previously they were not taking dine in due to COVID. I've been here previously and order the Bolani and the steak and chicken plate. When I placed my order today, it was lacking flavor on the chicken and rice. The chicken was dry and didn't have flavor either. It also appears that the food portion has become smaller as well. This wasn't the case on my previous orders before all of these changes. I hope this was just a one time case of inconsistency on the food quality.

How did I not write a review for this place yet? I live in Honolulu but my sister and her husband took me while I was visiting. In May and then again in June! Their Bolani Bread was awesome! I don't know what's in it but it's so good. They also have a dish with eggplant and a yogurt sauce that I really enjoyed. Their sauces are so good! And there's a dumpling that was good too. This place is on my must visit when in town list. I just ate there again. Please patronize this local small business. They are such nice people with great service! They don't have done in anymore because well, good help is hard to find and keep.

Had the house special and it tasted okay 6/10. It seems like it is a family run restaurant. It is takeout only. The white sauce was very runny which I didn't like. It did not add any additional flavor to my meal. The meat was a little dry as well. Not sure if I would try again.

    Take out only

So I used the "Surprise me wheel" to find this place. I wanted something different for lunch today and well I did get it. This did have some good reviews so away I went. It went from a regular restaurant to just take out only which could have been a clue. It is in the crowded lot of the post office. I found a space and saw the place with an open sign on it. Inside all the tables and chairs were stacked up thus showing take out only. No one was inside. I went towards the counter and found an old man sitting by the register. I saw the menu on the counter and looked for what I wanted. I saw that they had a combo with all three of their meats. So off I went. Chicken , beef and lamb. I asked him if it was going to be good and he say it would be. It would be almost 15 minutes and he said I could pull down one of the chairs if I wanted to wait inside. I just stood around and watched the TV blaring the Trump rally coming up just after the shooting. Soon after my food was ready and I took it home. I was disappointed, all of the meats were overcooked and dry. The chicken was the best but still bad. The beef and lamb were horrible. The beef pieces looked like little miniature T bones. too bad they weren't cooked right. Too long sitting on the stove under foil waiting for people to come in. Oh well I gave them a try. It was not cheap either at 19 bucks I doubt things will change since I don't think they get the volume of customers anymore since it's take out only but who knows. Maybe better next time. Good luck

Feeling like having some Kabob? Well, look no further! This place in my opinion has the best Kabob! It's so good that I forgot to take any pictures of it because we were so excited to eat. It comes with 2 large pieces of Kabob when compared to others similar places around Elk Grove. But it's not just larger, the flavor is on point. This place is located in the Post Office Parking lot. They don't do dine in anymore, so keep that in mind when ordering from here. This is a family run place. I usually see only 2 people taking orders and cooking. It's cool watching them cook their food right in front of you. They have nothing to hide. You see all your kabobs getting cooked right there, freshly made! When you want some Kabob, definitely try this place out!

New owners came into play. And the place is disgusting, I got the combination plate and the chicken was rubbery, the tika kebab was hard and stale. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE I WARN U

And having also gone to thos place for lunch, and because I really enjoy Mediterranean food. I decided to give it a try for dinner. Stopped in around 8:30 and were the only patrons in the restaurant for that part of the evening. I looked over the menu and asked several questions about dishes, and decided on the two meat plate. I ordered the chicken and beef skewers option, which came with rice, a vegetable medley of shredded lettuce, cabbage and carrots, and pitabread with a green sauce in the side. Total: $21.00 Everything was fine until, I took a bite of the rice and realized there was plastic in my food. *see picture* I hadn't eaten much of the food yet, and unfortunately was pretty much dknewith my meal after that. Overall: Female staff member was really nice and very helpful in. She was also very social. Meal was a little on the pricier side in my opinion, for a two meat Kabob plate. Jist good g off other similar Kabob dishes I get being around $15. Food tasted good, but I couldn't get past the plastic in my food and didn't finish the rest. And unfortunately most of my food was left when I found it, since it was near the top of rice.

We returned many times since then but today, the old memories of why Ariana was one of our favorite restaurants returned. We ordered our favorites: Chablee kabobs, Chicken kabobs, Qabuli rice, mantoos, and Bolani. Qabuli rice or Kabuli pula, is my favorite. The basmati rice is served with the tender lamb meats. It's fragrant, eye-pleasing, and a good balance of sweet and savory spices and ingredients. It surely fits to be called the national dish of Afghanistan. Mantoos (Afghan dumplings) is the must have in my family. It's filled with ground beef and onions, covered with chickpeas sauce and tzatziki sauce and sprinkled with mint. It's refreshing. Bolani (potatoes turnovers) served with my favorite chutney that's made with cilantro, vinegar and garlic. The kabobs were tender and delicious as expected. I always like the foods from this restaurant. Today, the food arrived piping hot!! We did mostly takeouts from this restaurant for years. I noticed the restaurant did a lot of takeout orders but not many eating in. We did dine-in once, a few months ago. The restaurant updated their interior. The interior felt too dark when we went there for lunch. While the restaurant looked cleaner, I wasn't sure what the theme was. The spaces didn't seem to blend together to create a feeling of comfort. It's not enticing for us to stay to enjoy our foods inside the restaurant. But we like the foods so we will return for takeouts.

We ordered one potato bolanis for appetizer with beers and five orders of kabob. There were no kabob leftovers! Everything was freshly cooked and delicious. The kitchen was kind enough to serve the food family style and there was plenty of spare naan and rice, but the delicious kabobs were all gone. Folks really liked the lamb, but my favorite is still the mildly spicy chapli kabobs! I took a bolani home. It is perfectly crispy after a few minutes in the toaster oven. Not a simple order by any stretch. Getting the owner (?) on the phone to place the order took some persistence, but once we connected, she was fantastic. She helped us figure out quantities, steered us toward the right dishes for the vegetarians and the kids, and was upfront about what contained nuts. She even threw in extras (salad and dessert) to complete the meal. I felt like she treated us like family. Pricing was very reasonable, everything arrived on time -- delivered by her uncle, no less -- and there was so much food that every guest went home with a takeout container -- the true mark of a successful spread. My husband was considerably less thrilled that I didn't save any of the meat dishes for home (he still laments it every time we talk about this awesome catering experience to others). For dine-in, our favorites are the lamb kebob, the Qabili, and the chicken kebob. We'll keep coming back.
