##1 Classic Smash
Karen D.

Good smash burger. Bun was toasted and warm! Fries were well seasoned and crispy. The menu is pretty simple or ordering was easy. Good customer service. I like how they have a condiment station with fresh peppers and jalapenos. The vibe was chill and the decor was cool. The restaurant was very clean too.

Came in and ordered to go, ordered extra patties on my burgers and some other things. Restaurant looks cool and has some fun murals on the walls, ample seating and some patio chairs outside. Opened it up on the road and order was wrong, I was too far to turn back so I called the restaurant. First person I spoke with was very polite, but the "manager" wasn't very compromising or apologetic, asked my order number and said he'd refund me the difference. Burgers aren't great if they aren't piping hot either, mine wasn't cold but it wasn't good. Enough for me to not go back

Great smash burgers!!!! Flavor is there. Even their fries are good . Prices are reasonable, staff is great. And it's located near the Target shopping center so there's plenty of parking.

#4 2x Jalapeno Smash with Fries

Finally gave Hot Bunz a try after seeing them all over social media. Overall, it's a solid spot for the price, you definitely get your money's worth in terms of portion size. The restaurant itself has a great, open atmosphere with plenty of room. While the staff was quick to take my order, there was a significant wait for the food to actually arrive. As for the meal, the fries were the highlight with great texture and flavor. However, the burgers were a bit of a letdown; despite being loaded with cheese, sauce, and jalapeños, the flavor was surprisingly masked and lacked any punch. Every bite felt very plain and repetitive.

Stopped into Hot Bunz, again today, with the hankering for a good burger and fries. I decided on and ordered the #2 Jalapeno Smash: One Smash with double grass-fed beef patties, melted white American cheese, caramelized grilled jalapenos and grilled onions, pickles, and signature house sauce drizzled on a toasted bun. Served with fries. Delicious, hot, served in an eye appealing yummy way. Plenty of good. Bun withstands the sauce and juiciness and you're not left with a messy burger and no bun. As with the past visits and orders, excellent. Fun restaurant with cool artwork, nice colors, very clean, lots of seating and excellent customer service. Bathrooms are super clean (smell musty) but the cleanest ones I've seen in a while.

Hit up Hot Bunz in South Sac today with BB and whew... this place has personality. From the jump, the decor is next level -- there's a mural with a bunch of fast food chain mascots in a whole UFC-style match Like I'm trying to eat my burger, but also... I'm invested in the storyline. What we ordered: * Western Bacon Smash Burger + onion rings (me) * Classic Smash Burger + Frisky Fries (BB) Both burgers come with two smashed patties -- super thin, but well-seasoned and cooked right. My only "ehhh" moment was the cheese on mine... I wasn't feeling it. BUT the bacon and patties still did what they needed to do, so I wasn't mad at it. Now let's talk sides: The onion rings were thick, crispy, and seasoned well -- exactly how onion rings are supposed to be. And BB's Frisky Fries were a fun switch-up... but here's my thing: They need to add ranch to the menu. And I know I'm not alone because I wasn't the only one asking for it. Ranch with those fries would take the whole meal over the top. Like... permanently in the rotation. Service was good, the food came out fast, and they've got ample parking and plenty of seating, which I always appreciate. Bottom line: Great burger spot with a cool vibe and strong seasoning. Fix the ranch situation and I'm giving them a full 5 stars.

Our Mac Attack that we definitely attacked

We loved the Hot Bunz in Rancho and saw this location when we were in the area. The location is just like the original. It's covered wall to wall with custom art from Coinslot. Mostly depicting their burger guy fighting other well known brands haha. The menu is the same with their different smash burgers, the frisky fries, mac attack, and shakes. All of them tasted great, just like the original location. Don't forget to ask for extra house sauce. That's what really makes it special. Staff were friendly and helpful. We love that take out boxes and bags were set out and easy to grab. There were also signs telling you the bathroom code was on the receipt. So definitely don't throw it out! We made that mistake but another costumer noticed it and told us the code.

Been wanting to try out this place and finally was around the area and got a chance to go. The place is pretty clean and big with plenty of seating inside and outside the restaurant. The service was great. We got the combo which comes with two burgers plus fries and the Mac Attack which was plenty of food to share between 2 people and the price was decent. The burger is juicy and full of flavor. The fries were seasoned and crispy. Love the side of jalapeño and peppers that you can get from the counter. What can I say, I have no complaints about this place at all. I think it's worth checking out if you're ever in the area and craving a good smash burger spot.

. I tried this place one time and haven't stopped coming since I probably go once a week or once every two weeks. They stay open till 11 too which is amazing. Their burgers have so much flavor and the fries are seasoned too and my son is a picky boy but he loved hot buns and their Mac n chees. The service is always good too. I see the same workers usually and they're all super nice and super hard working. And you guys the art in this place is so cool. I love this place. Really a 10/10

ya it was okay ig

Probably one of the better smash burgers I've had. 100% halal which was awesome. I ordered via the phone to save them some of the app fees and the food was nice and not upon pickup with no wait. I highly recommend trying the Jalapeño smash combo or the keto bowl. Both were delicious. I do think their prices have gone up a bit too much though. I recall the Jalapeño burger combo being around 15-17 and was surprised to pay $20 for that. I think $17 is the upper limit they should consider selling that for. I would definitely go there again and order the same items. Check them out for yourself!

I tried their new Western Smash (two smash patties with white American cheese, crispy beef bacon, onion ring, pickles, BBQ sauce, and house sauce), while my wife had their Classic Smash. The guy working the counter was great, he let us know you could save money by getting the two double Classic Smash burger combo and then upgrading one of the burgers to the Western Smash, rather than ordering them separately. They also hooked us up with some extra fries. I love spots like this that do those little things to create loyal customers. The burgers and fries were delicious. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area. Last but not least, I've got to give a shoutout to the wall art, it's awesome!

Frisky Fry with an extra ingredient

Pick up order of frisky fries and classic smash. Service was fine and able to get food quickly at the counter. Multiple TVs and music playing as you wait or dine-in Unfortunately, my food included hair as an extra ingredient. Disappointing and gross

I was also able to grab some ketchup to enjoy those fries. My burger and fries was delivered and there were more fries than expected. I focused on those first because who like cold fries, right??? The fries were actually pretty good, an above average standard French fry with salt. The burger however was phenomenal. There was an amazing crust on the outside reminiscent of a backyard bbq. There was ample bacon, lettuce, cheese and sauce to make it a balanced bite. The bun was high end brioche style, they really went all out on quality of ingredients. A standard burger build but done perfectly! Beer was cold, food was great and the ambiance is a perfect local bar. Great spot to go if you don't mind hunting for a parking space.

Amazing transformation. The inside is minimal with the diner decor, keeping the place open and uncluttered (although, there's a lady mannequin propped up near the window!). The smaller back patio is also nicely remodeled with their signature red double decker bus, which I hear is very close to being ready for occupation (as of 7/12/26). That will be fun to hang out and eat your burger and fries in there, especially if A/C is provided. The cute patio is also open to leashed dogs that are well behaved. I love that they offer combos with a shake or a fountain drink. You'll find burgers, shakes, fries, chili, and hot dogs. The menu is very reasonably priced too. I got a single Lucky burger combo with a large banana peanut butter chocolate shake (you can mix flavors), upgraded to chili cheese fries, and also ordered a separate fountain drink. The cashier was very friendly, patient, and helpful. Service 10/10. Given a buzzer and found a table inside. Food came up in about 5 minutes. Good burger but had way too many onions (easy fix though). I wouldn't mind a softer bun, but it was fine. The Lucky sauce is similar to thousand island dressing, and they had a few other sauces available that I still need to try. The fries were great! Battered, seasoned, and crispy. Shake was thick and not too sweet. They use real fruit, but not sure if they use real ice cream or soft serve. Either way, it was still delicious.
