Stopped in today with my parents for a late breakfast. The outside patio area and the whole building is absolutely adorable. 100% country kitchen. It was so spic and span clean, the bathrooms were as well. It totally reminds me of the diner on the movie Dumb and Dumber, where harry and Lloyd met sea bass. My dad and I both ordered the carb cutter omelette. 3 eggs, bacon, ham and sausage with peppers and onion with cottage cheese and tomatoes. My momma ordered the ham and two eggs with hash browns and a biscuit and gravy, and one Swedish pancake for the table because we all kinda wanted to try them. The food was your typical diner breakfasts. The hash browns were somewhat on the undercooked side. The biscuit and gravy were pretty underwhelming. The Swedish pancake tasted just like a typical crepe, but the lingonberry jam was absolutely delicious! The service was excellent. Everyone was so nice and friendly, we felt like regulars even though it was our first visit. We will definitely come back if in the area again, to definitely try the lunch menu. read more

Came here to try their breakfast while in Kingsburg. I had a cup of Starbucks in hand. The person who greeted me said "We're not allowed to have outside drinks in here." I said "I never know how the coffee is at a place I've never been to so I always bring my own. It's just a paper cup of coffee." She wouldn't budge, so I said, "Ok I will eat somewhere else then." And I left. I fully understand not bringing outside food or drinks into a restaurant but I always bring coffee in a paper cup to breakfast places. Got the Sr breakfast $9.95 for One Swedish Pancake w/Lingonberries, One Egg, chose the Two Sausage Patties - yummy!!! Friend had the Sr French Toast w/Egg & Bacon @ $9.95 she really liked it, both plates great price, food came out at perfect temperature & eggs cooked to perfection. Also asked if they had Swedish Meatballs, woohoo had some in freezer. Got one pound (16 meatballs) for $9.95 - very tasty! Service was good, friendly & informative. Customers of all ages hugging, laughing, enjoying large portions of delicious looking and yummy smelling food. This is very much a local meet-up place. I arrived after breakfast and before lunch on a Friday and the place was packed. Large parking lot, but very busy. The staff was really moving--but still cheerful and friendly. Above average, fresh coffee (and mine was served in an interesting ceramic mug). Prices are average for an informal, Cafe style restaurant. Only two issues keep it from being a 5 star place. The whole place is very worn and needs a facelift. Counters, booths, and even the bathroom are faded and worn beyond just the normal wear and tear you see in "Mom and Pop" operations. The second issue is that this place is sandwiched in between a very loud freight train track and a very loud CA-99 freeway. There is a small patio for outdoor dining, but not sure I tolerate the noise level, it is bad enough in the building. read more

4/29/23 Their Swedish pancakes look like a hit! 2 ordered along with a veggie egg white omelet with ham added. Hash browns. 1 pancake substituted from the other side included. The worker was very kind. I went in to get it and all of the workers were very kind. Very nice, little restaurant. Music playing. Clean and safe. Cute country decor. The order was ready and waiting. Wife and I came to Kingsburg this morning to pick something up and thought we would find a good place for breakfast. After looking around on Yelp I saw Kady's Country Kitchen. It looked pretty good so we found our way over here. The building doesn't look like much as you pull up. It's pretty old and the sign above the building barely has any lettering. The parking lot is super big. So parking is not a problem. So we parked and strolled in. I went in and didn't immediately see anyone to put my name down for seating as there were people waiting outside. After standing there a short moment a guy walked up and I asked if there was a list. The abrupt said yep. Mmm ok. Dude seemed irritated or something. So I put my name down and waited outside. It wasn't long before he called my name and we went in to be seated. As we walked in he says to my wife no outside beverages are allowed inside. My wife usually brings her own coffee from home when we go out for breakfast. It's never been a big deal. But this dude wasn't having it. So I promptly poured it out and we went in. As we sat and waited a young man in a black hoodie walks past as he was making his rounds making sure everyone was good. I said hey how you doing? The kid gave me the dirtiest look. Like who was I to speak to him? So wow I'm thinking shit. Did I make a mistake coming here? I mean my first impression hasn't been good so far. But whatever. Our waitress Stacey brought our menus. She was a wonderful woman and definitely made up for the two dudes previously. We looked over the menu which looked great. My wife ordered an a western omelette and I ordered the chicken fried steak. The omelette came with hash browns and they made a fruit cup for her which I thought was really cool. Bcz there wasn't really anything on the menu for that. My chicken fried steak came with hash browns and I had my eggs scrambled. I also chose biscuits and gravy instead of toast. The food came pretty quickly. But as we were waiting we noticed a guy coming in and was allowed to bring in an outside drink. So what? I guess "friends of the staff" are treated differently. If it wasn't for how pleasant our waitress was I probably wouldn't eat here again. But the food is really good and the service other than the previous dudes mentioned. We will probably be back. I didn't get the names of the guys. Oh well. This place is worth the drive from Fresno or any other town. Which is why I'm giving Kady's 5 stars. read more

They tasted like grandpa Joe was stuffing them out back. So fresh. Eggs tasted like they plucked them out of the henhouse this morning. Compote scrum. Real butter. Syrup may have been high fructose, the ketchup was. Didn't matter. One of the best diner breakfasts EVER. Maybe I got a good day. Not a fan of the food. Found this place driving back to Vegas from CA and wanted breakfast. They were super busy, so it has to be good, right? WRONG! I will preface my comments with some positive points. First, even though they were busy, the staff was really friendly - always a plus and they had beautiful outdoor seating area (although we were ordering takeout). Unfortunately, the food wasn't that good. We had biscuits and gravy, bacon and eggs, the portions were healthy, but the food was bland - not a seasoning to be found. Now granted, their clientele seem to be on the "more mature" side, so it's a bit understanding given possible dietary restrictions - it just wasn't for us. Find a different place to eat. I'm from Sweden, born and raised. I was recommended to stop here on my drive along the 99. I can honestly say there is not a single Swedish thing about this restaurant or the pancakes which made me very sad. A simple google search would have showed them what sides go with a Swedish pancake, as they didn't get any of them right. The pancakes were greasy and didn't taste at all like a Swedish recipe. The amazing thing about pancakes in Sweden is that it's a protein rich healthy food that goes well with people who exercise a lot and mind what they eat. This was more like a slab of oil covered in powdered sugar, neither of these ingredients should be used in Swedish pancakes. The only attempt they made on making it Swedish was a side of lingonberry jam, but that's a food we serve with meat and potatoes, pancakes should be served with fruit jam such as strawberry. Other reviews complained about the service and unfortunately I have to agree there too. This place is right next to the very charming Swedish village which I highly recommend but unfortunately Kady's isn't Swedish in the slightest. It's just a Denny's without the service. read more

Conveniently right off the 99, on the edge of charming Downtown Swedish Village, Kady's has authentic home cooking like your mom would want to make you when you come home from college, and was the most inexpensive meal we've ever had in California. We had the Swedish pancakes. Loaded with so much butter I scooped the dollop to the side and ate mine with all the lingonberries I could.
