He is the best vet I know of. I had adopted a dog from shelter 16 years ago and Dr Kafai had been my vet for 13 years until my dog passed way due to old age 3 years ago. Recently, my friend's dog had an emergency and was ignored by its primary vet. With ongoing on-stop bleeding from a tumour, the dog was brought to Dr Kafai. He attended the matter immediately and necessary surgery was performed at a reasonable price. Post surgery service is excellent too. With over 10 years dealing with Dr Kafai, I have been totally pleased and thankful. He is an assertive person and will not take abusive behaviors. read more

If you care about your animal, run away from this place. Dr. Kafai is not reliable at all. He completely failed to recognize what was wrong with my dog. I brought my dog in and he just said, "Go home and rest, he will get better." Two days later, my dog was close to becoming disabled. When I took him to another vet, after an X-ray we found out his hip was dislocated and required surgery since the golden hour of 6-8 hours was missed. All of this suffering happened because of Dr. Kafai's inexperience and lack of proper care. I not my husband or my dog will ever come back here EVER AGAIN. Dr. Kafai is rude and not good with people or the pets! We gave them so many chances but every time the service is just horrendous. The last time we went there with my dog we went in to get her last set of boosters. Dr. Kafai had asked me to hold my puppy so he could administer the shots. So I held her and she was squirming a bit, and he addressed me "mam hold her still." #1 I am not old for you to address me in that way. #2 We have been coming to this vet for over two months, and still not vet patient relationship. He still called my female dog a he, hello my dog is obviously a female. Let me also add that after the shot my puppy was crying of pain, he is not good with administering a shot. I wanted to cry too because of the pain my baby was in! I also noticed a bump I on my puppies thigh (I discovered later through research that it was from a shot she had gotten), I asked the doctor and he simply told me "I don't know what that is." Wowwwwww...... as a concerned pet parent, you telling me that was awful. The bump was from a shot administered by another doctor and my dog's thigh had a big bump on it after! In addition too, there was not pet friendly salt on the main entrance of Dr. Kafai's clinic. When I had asked if it was pet friendLy to the girl upfront, she had told me it wasn't and to be careful. Please don't take your pet here, you will not like this place I guarantee. Rude doctors especially Dr. Kafai. Please do not allow Dr. Jia Asianova to attend to your animal. Today I went in and Immediately I felt a bad vibration emitting off of her, and as I began voicing concerns to her regarding my pets health she became defensive and abrasively dismissed these concerns. She began to raise her voice at me when I simply questioned her, causing my cat to start shaking against me. She brought in three vials, and told me that this is what my cat would be getting if I were so concerned, she acted towards me as if it is were crime to be an informed pet owner. When she reached for the vials, That is when my spirit told me to ask for a secondary opinion from my usual doctor, Dr. Kafai (A Godsend). So I did, when I did she was clearly insulted, despite me apologizing profusely for the inconvenience, and then left the room. I later heard her speaking angrily about me for the next 20 minutes to the receptionist and who ever else would listen lol. Later I learned that had I not asked for my usual Dr, she would have given my cat an undiluted dosage of Feline Respiratory infection vaccine, during the examination. Who knows what damage this would have caused to my cats health, I am literally so grateful to have listened to my intuition. I love this veterinary clinic, I just cannot fathom that someone so unprofessional and irresponsible was offered a position in this practice. I spoke to others that have encountered her and am not surprised they have had similar experiences. If you come here please request Dr.Kafai personally, or any other veterinarian who you feel you can trust. Dr.Kafai is not a reliable person and also untrustworthy. He only cares about money and his own business. I'm telling this and also share my experience working with him so other people who want to work with him will be careful before approaching him. I'm an IT professional and have an IT company and he asked me to provide him consultation for purchasing server and some IT equipment for his animal hospital and then doing the IP project and providing IT services afterwards. After I provided him consultation and some IT services (around 7 hours) ,he purchased the IT equipment and signed a contract with me to do his IT job. A week after signing the contract he cancelled the contract on bad terms and he didn't pay the IT services I had provided him. I'm not sure about the services he provides to animals which I've heard even if an animal is in emergency state he first charges the owner before he touches the animal, but I want those who want to do business with him to be careful. read more

This guy has moved to Richmond hill where Indigo used to be. He is a businessman rather than a good vet. Tries to scare the s... out of you to get your pet to do surgery with high cost. He didn't even examine my pet full heartedly, he hold a few fur strands with his fingertips as if disgusted by it. He was so fast to provide me with a list of different procedures each costing over $1000. He didn't make a diagnosis and acted like the issue was very unusual. He didn't even check my pet skin to see the discolouration, that I found out about later at home and was able to figure out the issue with a simple google search. Dr Kafai took excellent care of our cat who came in as an emergency with a suspected broken paw. We had called 3 other emergency vets and he was the only one to accept him as a patient immediately. He was courteous and did not push any extras on us as some vet clinics can do. He administered xrays, pain medicaction and antibiotics all for a fair price with no surprises. While I read many things about Dr. Kafai's attitude or the appearance of his clinic, we have had nothing but great experiences from him. I have had 2 pets I have had to put to sleep, and found him to be extremely considerate and kind, and he made the experience as painless as possible under the circumstances. He diagnosed a problem with one of my cat's digestions and we no longer have to clean up throw up every day! I just called him about getting my kitten spayed, and he advised me that it is expensive and gave me a number to call that would be much less. What vet does that??? My dog is a 1 year old pomeranian who had just recently given birth. She was healthy her whole life and did not have any physical complacations by her own fault. After she had given birth, she got an infection affecting 3 breasts. We took her to Dr Kafai and we were told to squeeze out the puss and milk ourselves. Keep in mind we used gloves, sterilized the surface and her skin. After a day her breast turned black in colour and were extremely swollen. She developed deep holes on the surface of her skin near her vaginal opening. We took her back to the clinic and we were told that we had to keep her there overnight for supervision and they were going to operate on her. They were extremely unprofessional; they did not give us calls for any updates and when we called they would not answer on the first phone call. They postponed the operation many times which obviously had an increase on our bill. During this whole process they seemed unsure about the situation. They cut out 3 breasts and when we took her home exactly one day after her stiches split open leaving the dog with an abnormally large hole in the middle of her stomach. Her insides were visible. We took her to the clinic and they changed up their story so many times. At first they said they were going to proceed with the operation the day of, then they postponed it to the following day, and so on. In the end they changed up their story and we were told that they could not stitch her back up because there was apparently an insufficient amount of skin to stitch it back up. They told us to pick up our dog with her insides wide open. On top of everything they told us to additionally pay and refused to give our money back for an unsuccessful operation by their own fault. They told us to dress her in clothing and it would be fine. The hole is large enough for an adult fist to fit inside and they want us to cover it with a dog tshirt. This is ridiculous and they are beyond unprofessional. After he realized that this is his responsibility, he said he can not do anything about it and denied that this was his fault. The image is so ridiculously graphic I am not going to attach it. Not only did he refuse to help our dog, but he was so rude and said that he already didn't like us the first time we came to him. If I could give this Veterinarian a -5 star rating I would. We've been a loyal customer with Dr. Kafai for 3 years For my dog that's 7 years old. This veterinarian hospital has been the only place that we've trusted to take our loved fur baby for all his heath needs and concerns. Anyone that has a pet well knows how worried we get when our animals are unwell. On April 29th we had an appointment for our dog for his yearly check up, not only we did not get the doctor (Dr.Kafai) that we've been getting for the past 3 YEARS, the "Doctor" that we got was UNEXPERIENCED, RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL and clearly did not know what he was doing. He shaved our dogs hair to vaccinate him, left him with scars and excessive bleeding. He butchered our dog. We asked if he can cut his nails as well, that was a HUGE mistake. He over cut his nails leading to intemperate bleeding. On top of all of that he charged us $450 !!! I'm a very unhappy customer and DO NOT recommend this hospital to anyone that loves their animals. We gave his original doctor a call, he informed us that the "doctor" who butchered my dog was a trainee that was fired 2 days after the incident due to several other cases. He was not apologetic, and when we went to see him he asked us to talk outside so his other customer don't hear what had transpired, we left unsatisfied unfortunately. I've taken my pets to this hospital for about 3 years now. Most recently my cat got a minor respiratory infection and we went there for a 5 minute visit. They WAY overcharged me - by about $75. I only found out after talking with my friend about the average cost. I soon realized they have been overcharging me for quite a few times now. Plus make sure to take cash. Their machine mysteriously doesn't work.... Oh and they have no AC so not only is it boiling in there but the smell becomes just horrendous. I've been a client of Dr. Kafai's since the late 90's & will never bring my fur babies anywhere else. Dr. Kafai has been practicing for a very longtime now & hes more than earned those hanging on his wall! Hes a straight shooter & will tell you exactly how sick your baby is. I had 2 dogs & Dr. Kafai preformed flawless surgery on them & both dogs had very serious things going on. I also had a cat in his care. Of course we had to say goodbye to all of them, but in the end Dr. Kafai was there for them. He never once steered me in the wrong direction & his diagnosis was always accurate. He also has a belief that senior cats & dogs don't need to be put to sleep unless it is absolutely necessary. He has a couple of senior animals running his office! He is an awesome vet & I highly recommend him & his compassion for animals is through the roof. Despite what people say about him, I can't say enough he's a great man. Reviews dont just cut it.
