We had the chance to chat with our server who spoke very good English, as it seems most of the people we have come across in our two weeks on the Continent do. We had to go back the next afternoon to try the Strudel of course. We were recognized right away, and the place was quite a bit busier so we walked up the stairs and were sat in the main dining area. The Strudel was quite delicious, and once again abundant and swimming in warm custard, which I wasn't sure of, but man it was good. Also added a Stiegel beer which is brewed right here in Salzburg for over 500 years. The owner had seen the incident and kindly gave me a free cup of coffee, which he did not have to do. Admitted the incident left me mortified and wanting to leave the cafe quickly. I hope to revisit Salzburg one day and go to the cafe again to have a proper visit. I will be more careful about watching where I walk next time.
