Kaffee Meister is definitely a must go! I been here many times and every time I go it never disappoints me. Usually very relaxing, a nice place to grab your laptop and head out here to study. Mainly filled with college students. I order a White Chocolate Mocha every time I come here and every time it tastes wonderful. Certain days out of the week there is live music performance which gets loud in here and makes it hard to study but the performers are usually really good. I recommend giving this place a shot if you are into great coffee and great customer service as well. read more

I live downtown in little Italy for 8 years and tried all the coffee shops there snd Kaffee Meister is by far the best coffee and espresso I have had in San Diego. Their açaí bowl is also incredible and a must get. Staff is always incredibly nice and welcoming with great service. By far the best coffee and espresso you will get outside of Italy. read more

This place is actually pretty good but way overpriced and hence the 3 star rating. I had the caramel and dark mocha lattes. The dark mocha is significantly sweeter than the caramel but the sweetness level is tolerable. This is coming from someone who can drink straight black coffee or espresso. Both drinks tasted good, creamy and flavorful, but they lacked some punch. The drinks could use an extra shot in there. I was told 2 shots are in the drinks bt default. The menu offers three sizes of drinks but buyer BEWARE the barista told me there are only 2 shots in each drink whether you get a small, medium, or large. A small costs 5.20, medium 5.80, and large 6.20 so you are just paying extra for more milk and syrup. I find this deceptive since customers may think they are getting more caffeine in a large but they are not. The prices for their lattes are far and above higher than competitor shops in central san diego, downtown, hill crest areas. But there are no competitors in the area offering this level of latte yumminess so if I was living/working in this part of town then I'd re-visit. Thankfully I have choices in Central San diego so this is a one and done. read more

I stopped in yesterday for a blended coffee, the request was a mocha frappe-no milk, use cold brew instead, no whip. What I received for $7.35 was horrid and I could not get through 1/5th of that drink. I am busy and on the road, I left with the drink and poured it down the drain. Adding insult to injury, I always tip well so this was $8.35 and I couldn't drink it. Tasted like milk in it and I'm allergic to dairy. Never going back, just say no if you cannot make something special, and for two dollars less another coffee shop got it right today. read more

Was pleasantly surprised that their cold brew coffee was really good. I have had some that was super bitter cuz they used a French roast type bean. Theirs was strong but was very nice with cream added. Staff very friendly and efficient also super fast with a long line outside. Nice place! read more

This is my absolute favorite neighborhood coffee spot. Their Almond Milk Latte is the best I've ever had as well. It's all about the barista and the almond milk they use, which makes it creamier and foamier than the lattes made with regular almond milk. I am a fan of their loyalty card because I go there so often and their staff is always kind and friendly. Because I don't focus on the coffee, I do closely examine the service at each place, and I'd have to say that the service at this shop is the best in town. Everyone is super friendly, and they all work hard. Whether it is crowded or not, the service is very fast. This place is amazing!!! Small, tranquil, and an amazing staff who is very knowledgeable on coffee and the coffee they serve. I love that their menu for espresso drink isn't cluttered with so many options (Le Stats) and don't take way from the true flavor which is their coffee. If I were a person who wanted to step into the world of specialty coffee and third wave coffee houses, this is an awesome place for you to begin. If you are a coffee connoisseur and looking for your next stop on coffee adventures you have found another gem. Their cappuccino are traditional Italian 6oz servings and that is all you need. The passion and craft at this shop is hard to miss. Looking at some of the reviews I will have to disagree with them, the shop is know for their coffee first you see it on a big poster before you walk in. The call them self a coffee house not a cafe. Meaning that their focus is on coffee first. Though they do not have menus for a three course meal (which it seems like some people are looking for) there are some really good place next door where you can get that. I appreciate that they have food for us to snack on and again delicious food. Also for my coffee heads they serve an italian style roast, if you like more of chocolate tones in your espresso this is heaven for you. Awesome place, love what they are doing for the coffee community in east county. About a year ago there was no such thing unless you call Starbucks coffee well....then thats a whole different conversation. I stumbled upon this coffeehouse when I was checking out a local small yoga studio nearby. I often like to meet up over a nice latte with friends or meeting with clients. Immediately, I noticed the atmosphere was very welcoming. They've got a great staff that are all super friendly and likable! Its cozy... has a nice couch area where you can sit and drink coffee with friends or a variety of tables for work or study. The big table in the middle is nice, however, if your computer is running low on power you'll the proximity to outlets is not that great. I ended up having to use my iPad to "finish" up work, because jumping over innocent bystanders to plug your device to power across the room is a bit uncomfortable and awkward. I found working on my iPad wasnt cutting it so i decided working at home would be less stress so i lleft. I definitely judge coffee shops to its chair to outlet proximity/ratio... and my ratings on coffee shops usually are based on this: Outlets, Good background Music, availability of yummy healthy and diverse edibles that can get you through a 2-4 hour work/study session. read more

I come here on and off for either a coffee to go or I bring my computer and have a sit down coffee because I love the ambiance in this little shop! It's tastefully decorated and next door to a park so sometimes its nice to get there early and get a coffee before a walk in the park. The staff is always super nice and friendly, service is usually quick, and the drinks are always perfect! The only thing I've ordered here that I didn't enjoy was an acai bowl. It was expensive and not the best quality/quantity. There is plenty of indoor seating and some tables outside as well. This place can get busy on weekend mornings especially so either get there early or wait until the morning crowd clears if you want a quieter experience. read more

They have great coffee options, including milk--I think they even offer macadamia milk now. As far as food, I haven't been impressed with the couple of items I tried. I work in the high end wine biz up in the bay area, but I live down here. Folks take their coffee and their wine pretty seriously up there--admittedly, too seriously at times; at the end of the day they're both just drinks. That being said, it's been an unexpected delight to find a coffee house that takes their coffee and espresso seriously. A quaint vibe in both locations with genuinely friendly baristas. I had never been here until this weekend. The greeter was super friendly and helpful finding a drink I would like right away. I ended up getting a vanilla chai with an extra shot of espresso. The service was on point. They were fast and the quality of my drink was amazing. The atmosphere was nice as well lots of seating and some couches for casual seating. Had a issue with my oven on Mother's Day. I need some pastries in a pinch so I went to Kaffee Meister. I ordered half a dozen different muffins based off previous reviews. I get to my mom's house and open the bag and there are SPROUTS MUFFINS in my bag. They scraped off the 1.99 price tag for a 4 pack of muffins and sold it to me at SIX TIMES the price. The muffins have Sprouts cupcake liners!! I have decided to write Sprouts and let them know that they should continue to use personalized cupcake liners so little trashy hole in the wall places like this can't re-sell their product. We also got a slice of quiche. It was terrible. I am guessing that is was like Kirkland frozen or something. I would never go back here again. read more

Kaffee Meister has been mine and my fiancé's go to for morning coffee, the staff are always friendly and if you are not sure what you want they always recommend the good stuff! This place has live music a place to sit and talk, study, or just lay back and relax. They do have alternatives like almond milk, soy milk for those who are sensitive to dairy you just have to ask.
