This is such a lovely local coffee shop. It is very open and has lots of seating inside and out. Their coffee is really good and they have more than one option of drip coffee. They also have different foods you can choose from if you want something with your drink. The service was great from both people I interacted with. I let the lady know it was my first time there and she explained to me their coffee set up. Which again, I think is such a cool local way of having it. Definitely recommend, I'd come back!
The coffee and service here is top tier. The person that helped us with our order was really nice and they talked me into adding shots of espresso which I love lol. The vibe is really chill and seems like a place you could hang out all day. I didn't try any of the food, but it looked really good. Also, I love that they have a blended drink that is just cold brew with and coffee powder with no sweetener.
I've been here a couple of times, and overall it's been a good experience. Their lavender latte seems to be a popular choice, so I gave it a try, but it just wasn't for me. When I let them know, the staff was incredibly kind and quickly offered to replace it with a regular latte, which ended up tasting great. They also offer free WiFi for up to two hours, just make sure to ask for a receipt to access it. Parking is plentiful, so that's never an issue. Overall, it's a spot I'd recommend checking out.
I came in here for coffee with my friend who swears by this place. She says it's her go-to and she loves it here. I think it was good, it was not necessarily brag worthy, but it was fine. We also ordered burritos. I wasn't the biggest fan of them. They weren't bad at all, but they were just fine. Kinda like the coffee. I did like the atmosphere though. There was plenty of tables to sit at, and there were games you could play, and it was nice. And the staff was very polite and the store was clean.
Brew Coffee Spot was sooo busy when I went, so happy for them! There were tons of people working or getting together for a little morning ritual. I had the maple latte which was super yumm. I also got avocado toast. The avocado toast was pretty basic, but still good. Good to note if you want to use the wifi, you have to make a purchase and get a receipt code. The code is only valid for two hours!
I love a freshly brewed tea, but having loose leaves in it is not enjoyable. I ordered the chamomile tea and on my first sip ended up with residue in my mouth. You should not have to worry about leaves floating around when drinking tea, and I have never been served tea like this before. That said, the area itself is nice and a good place to get some work done if needed. They do have WiFi. Most people come to sit and chat, so if you do not work well in a busy environment, I would not recommend it. They also have a nice outdoor seating area.
What a great lively coffee shop! Excellent selection of coffees, teas, and much more! What stood out to me was the cleanliness of this place and the option to self order on a kiosk. I came in on a Saturday morning and there was a line building up so it's great that was an option to utilize. Although I didn't talk to any of the baristas i was watching how friendly each interaction was, and let me tell you that the drinks were coming out quickly. I guess they have little events that go on at this joint, that's really cool! Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating so enjoy yourselves! Let's talk about the food now-- I ordered a Coco Moco I believe? A coffee infused with coconut, it was incredibly delicious and I customized it to my liking. The breakfast sandwich I ordered was perfect, probably one of the best sandwiches I've had at any coffee spot. They give a generous amount of avocado (in substitution of bacon) and I love my cados!! Overall, as a first timer here I do see myself coming back. Great selection of drinks/foods, friendly customer service, CLEAN, self serve drip coffee, plenty of seating. Awesome place.

I got the apple chai iced latte and my friend got the morning maple. Both were very flavorful and not over powering. We got the cinnamon apple roll and the blackberry turnover. The 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month they have a market in the parking lot. They seem to host a lot of community events. Would definitely come back!
Food: Besides the countries of coffee & teas to choose. there's customizable options. Enticing pastries, my Jalapeño Cheddar Bagel was delectable & perfectly toasted (xtra dark)! Their extensive menu includes paninis, turkey & ham sandwiches. Plenty of sweets like Cinnamon Rolls, selective gluten-free muffins to start. Service: Chris was polite, confidently answered questions very helpful. Ambience: Love the ample interior dining areas only matched by cozy airy patio. that welcomes breezes.
In the past I thought everything was great but a little slow. That isn't a problem now. They continue to have a big menu of sandwiches and pannnis ( try the caprese). Lots of scones, croissants, muffins. I love the ficelle, crusty baguettes with butter and brie. Good parking lot. Nice people. Games available.
I decided to come here today to get some work done. When you walk in, the right side of the seating area has tables with outlets, which is really helpful if you're planning to stay for a while. The rest of the space has a mix of high-top bar seating and larger tables that can fit up to six people. There's also a more comfortable lounge area with a coffee table and couch seating, plus additional patio seating outside. With a purchase, you're able to access their WiFi, but logging in was a little inconvenient. You have to enter your order number and the exact dollar amount of your purchase. I ordered through the kiosk near the pickup area and declined the receipt, so I had to go back and figure out those details before I could log in.There's a two-hour WiFi limit, which feels reasonable since this place fills up quickly. By around 8:30, all the outlet-accessible seating was taken, so I'd recommend coming earlier if you need a spot with power, or making sure your device is fully charged beforehand. After looking through the menu, I ordered a Vietnamese coffee and the Bitchin' Avocado Toast. My order was ready pretty quickly. Vietnamese Iced Coffee- ($6) Description from the menu: 4 shots of Espresso with sweetened condensed milk over ice The flavor profile here falls into a strange middle ground: not quite a latte, but certainly not a Vietnamese iced coffee. The 'mark' was missed on the texture; a proper Viet coffee relies on a long extraction to pull those essential oils from the beans, creating a distinctively bold, syrupy body. This version was too thin and lacked the rich, condensed-milk creaminess that balances the bitterness of the roast. It's a decent semi-sweet coffee. Props for trying though. Bitchin' Avocado Toast ($10.40) Menu description: Avocado, Bitchin' sauce, sliced hardboiled egg, salt and pepper, and brew seasoning on rosemary bread. I dined in, and the avocado toast was served on a plate, which made it feel more cozy and intentional. I grabbed a packet of Tapatio from the condiments bar near pickup to go with it. Portion-wise, it felt fair for the price, especially compared to other café spots. You can't really mess up avocado toast. My only critique is that the avocado didn't have that fresh-cut taste. It felt more like a pre-prepped mash or spread, instead of freshly sliced or smashed in-house. It was missing that brighter flavor and texture. The chipotle-style sauce on top helped a lot, though. It added a nice punch of spice and made the overall bite more interesting. The rosemary bread held up well at first, but by the second half, it started getting messy with all the toppings. Not bad, just harder to eat cleanly. Ambiance and service I didn't interact much with staff since I ordered through the kiosk. By around 9:00, the shop was full, leaving patio seating to be the only open seating. There was music playing overhead, but it wasn't too loud and didn't distract from working. Overall, I could see myself coming back here to get work done or meet up with friends. The space itself makes it easy to stay for a while.

Ordered myself a coffee to go after a hike, restaurant is small and cozy, very welcoming and busy, customer service was great. Got myself a Morning Maple Latte iced, so delicious, definitely coming back for more.

I've been coming here for months and seriously love getting the cinnamon roll and cinnamon roll latte! The latte itself is so tasty, it has a good balance of strong and sweetness. I get it every single time im here. I'd also recommend the Mexican iced chocolate latte. It's also strong yet sweetened to perfection. The service here is always good and the employees always greet you. I like to come here to study and just sit outside to take in the morning air. I love the view of cowles mountain as well. It's a great spot if you wanna study, they have free wifi if you purchase something so that's a plus. I recommend trying the cinnamon roll latte! read more
For a few years now, I've been buying my beans, five pounds at a time, from Brew Coffee Spot in La Mesa. I like the roasting profile they use, and for a while, they've stocked a Costa Rica Sonora Black-Honey Natural that is just fantastic. Joe Paraiso, the owner, is a very experienced coffee purveyor, and he's been incredibly kind to me, sharing his time and knowledge to make sure I get what I want. And, not for nothing, when I'm at Brew Coffee Spot picking up the beans I ordered online, I always have a coffee. Joe either does a great job of training his baristas, or he's REALLY good at hiring talent, or both. Seriously... his folks make my coffees, usually a cortado or a straight espresso, with a downtown San Francisco or Rome level of competence. read more

The La Mesa area has a lot of different coffee options, I'm glad I found this one. When I moved back to San Diego six years ago, I had a meeting with someone at this shop, but because I've moved to a completely different part of the area I had not gone back. Recently, I spent some time back in La Mesa and thought I would go back and try this spot out. So much space, friendly staff, reasonable prices, with a bunch of gluten-free and vegan options when it comes to food. Plenty of parking, outdoor seating as well, and even when they were busy, I think I did not wait more than five minutes for my drink. I chose to use their honey syrup instead of regular honey, and was not disappointed with my iced oatmilk latte also, I have to point out something you don't typically see at a lot of coffee shops. Both times I went, there was an incredible mix of generations in that shop. From younger to older, it was awesome to see generations coming together. Great job guys! read more

I met my cousin for coffee on a Saturday afternoon. She chose Brew Coffee Spot. It was my second visit to this coffee shop, but the first time was a quick takeout visit over two years ago. We were both hungry so we took some time to look over the coffee and food menu. Really, it was much more extensive than I thought it would be. It would have been so hard to decide, but I was excited to find that they already had pumpkin spice lattes on the menu. For food, we decided to split the turkey pesto panini. It came with chips, but they were able to give us an option of a side salad. They were great about splitting the sandwich and salad on separate plates so we could share. When our food and drinks came out, it was nice to see they were on real plates and in real cups with real silverware. Not too many coffee shops do that these days. The sandwich was good and salad was fresh. I enjoyed the latte, though it wasn't the best pumpkin spice I ever had. I ordered it iced and it wasn't quite as cold as I would have liked. They have a large seating area with both indoor and outdoor seating. They sell a lot of cute cups and coffee accessories. All in all, it was a great experience. I work nearby and would definitely return for breakfast or lunch. read more

Espresso? Yes please! Walked into a cozy , chill space with instant aroma of wonderfulness that is coffee. Ordered an iced Viennese and hot mocha with 2 pastries. Everything was wonderful. I regret not having gotten the large version. There is an array of choices of coffee drinks, a small but good variety of pastries and also stacks of games to choose from (located by restrooms). Cashier was ready to give recommendation if needed. Was able to snag a prime spot on the couch and Battleship. Everything was super clean (including restrooms) (we always like a clean restroom!). Will make sure to snag a bag of coffee beans next time. read more

Brew Coffee has one of my favorite cafe drinks: the Golden Turmeric Latte. It's warm, has a yummy gingery taste, and contains all kinds of healthy goodness. There is a lot of space at Brew Coffee, too, which makes for great coffee dates around La Mesa. If you like farmers markets, you can time your coffee date right so it coincides with a little community market that pops up monthly. Community is definitely a consideration here, where the service is equally as cheery as the customers. read more

Very cute space, with plenty of seating for a coffee shop! Huge plus. I, unfortunately, feel like I made a bad order. Got the pumpkin spiced chai, which was incredibly sweet. I ended up pouring a third of my husband's cold brew into my latte to dilute it. The bitchin' avocado toast was underwhelming. My husband ordered the panini, which was good! So I recommend their paninis over their toasts. read more

Great place. First time here as I don't live in the area, I was just passing through. The matcha latte had great flavor and the pumpkin was nice and soft for a scone. The service was good, just busy so you might have to wait a little for your coffee. The time frame that I was there, I don't think the line stopped. The place is very inviting when you walk in but the line was intimidating. As I waited in line it gave me time to just look around and enjoy everything. Product placement throughout the area was good kept making me think if I should purchase anything. They also have an area where you can get $2 coffee that is already there for you to grab yourself and put your $2 in a drop box (fantastic idea) I wanted to purchase anything brown hat and was supposed to ask if that color was still available but forgot to because I had to leave after I enjoyed my food (regret) read more

Even in the midst of a busy Sunday morning, I received great service here. The staff were all so friendly. They have a large, open floor plan here, with lots of seating options. There's a large couch and some comfy chairs, along with several large tables / booth seating. What I ordered: A large (16oz) hot peppermint mocha latte and a caprese panini. Although they were VERY busy, I only waited about 10-15 mins for my drink and food. Not bad- and the wait went by quickly because I was sitting on a comfy couch. My peppermint mocha latte was good, but if you prefer a strong latte, I'd recommend adding an extra shot of espresso to your drink at this shop. Note: They have an extensive espresso menu with lots of unique options so I'll be excited to try something new next time. The caprese panini: this one was sooo good. I'm a sucker for a rosemary parmesan bread, and the sandwich was perfectly toasted. The sandwich had a good ratio of basil to tomato to cheese. read more
Amazing place!!! Don't expect pancakes... they serve sandwiches, salads and pastries! Variety of coffee flavors, both hot and iced or even blended. They surpassed my standards. I'm really into coffee... i ordered the dark chocolate coffee and their brie bread with bacon... omg, sooooo good.... love it! I wanted to go back in line to re-order the brie bread, it's addicting! There was a long line but it was fast! Plenty of tables, spaces inside, and spaces in the patio area. I will definitely come back here!! read more
4.5 stars yeah right! This coffee is worse than Dunkin' Donuts. Watered down coffee with too much milk. I had a cold brew but it tasted like cold shoe.....I'll pass on this next time. On my way back to Starbucks! Cute place but poor coffee read more
