Great coffee. They have a nice array of nice looking pastries. They can warm it up, too. We had the cinnamon roll, which is beautifully braided. It could use a softened butter on top, as it was a tad dry. The chive cheese biscuit was perfect. It was moist and soft inside with a nice crust outside. Absolutely phenomenal quality coffee, if you like specialty coffee and micro lots, this place is for you. One of few places in the Portland/Vancouver area where you can get pourover (your choice of brew method V60, chemex, etc). Have had exceptionally flavorful brews (coffees that tasted like chocolate covered strawberries, juicy mango, etc). Delicious pastry and food selection, too! Cafe is really beautiful, spacious, and well lit wit amazing waterfront views. Great for working (fast wifi) or meeting friends. We stopped in to have a cup of coffee and a tea after stuffing ourselves. I had the delicious hibiscus tea and my mom had the Ethiopian coffee. My tea was delicious ! Just a regular hibiscus tea with a hint of honey. My mom's coffee was pretty good however it did have a slight burnt aftertaste. My mom likes her coffee is pretty sweet this one was not. Good just not for someone who loves sweet drinks. If you're looking for something sweet, I would choose a different drink. I've never had it before so I'm not sure how it was supposed to taste. The service was wonderful and kind. Very helpful and was happy to assist. They had a gluten-free muffin, but I couldn't put any more in my stomach. Who wouldn't love a coffee bar that actually serves alcohol along with their coffee plus a view? The Espresso Martini made with Kafiex espresso was frothy and delicious and the Aussie Iced Coffee which consisted of vanilla ice cream, two espresso shots, and milk was cold, tasty, and loaded with caffeine, exactly what my hubby needed this hot afternoon before getting back on road to Downtown Portland. Quite a way for this place to go if they want to be great instead of just okay. First thing is the rules. I'm sure they had a few challenges but I hate a place that treats every customer like they are a delinquent. At the front door you are accosted by the rule signs. No outside food. Restrooms for customers. No outside food (again). Then someone has also placed a free standing sign saying...again...no outside food, seats for paying customers only, etc. I get they have had challenges but this is overkill and super unwelcoming. Maybe they could put the word "please" on the signs? Then inside they have a beautiful pastry case, but don't linger too long or you'll get the bark of the cashier telling you to form a line on the other side. At your table you are met with another sign reminding you to bus your own table when done. I had a cheddar biscuit. Nice flavor but dry. I asked for butter. They don't do butter. The guy making the coffee was very nice. So was the guy who brought out the biscuit. Only one coffee size and overpriced. read more

Location is beautifully located along the waterfront, making for a Saturday morning with our family (4 adults, 2 kids and 1 dog) a wonderful place for breakfast before jotting towards the Farmer's Market. While there is a Kafiex location where the Farmer's Market is at, that location doesn't have a lot of outdoor seating, and the ambiance lacks a bit of charm. Drinks ordered: Drip was to be expected. Nice roast flavor and smooth. Vanilla latte was good. Pretty standard. Aussie iced coffee was delicious and will be reordered in the future. Chai latte was not a favorite. Not a blend preferred in our group. Food ordered: Overnight oats was delicious but would have liked an option for bananas rather than raisins. Serving size was much larger than expected. Enough for 3-4 people, maybe. Yogurt bowl was tasty and sized for a serving for 4. Omelet with mushrooms and sausage was a disappointment, as it lacked substance for a $19 item. Definitely not what was expected. Churro French toast was a beefy serving size. Flavor wasn't something to rave about though. Mushroom prosciutto flatbread was a nice size (think small pizza size) but nothing to be excited for upon return. Would we return? Sure. The location, ambiance and coffee makes it 4 stars read more

Love this place. Trying to venture into being more into a nice cup of coffee and this is a great place for that. Everyone is very nice and genuine, the opposite of pretentious. Lots of variety and quality. The ambiance is great nice chill music and the view is spectacular. Obviously it's going to be on the upper end price wise, but you really are getting a great value because it really is quality. Yes it's bougie, but the staff was very friendly and helped me choose the cajeta latte, which is a Mexican Caramel Latte that's mildly sweet and still lets the espresso shine through. Great space and location, not so great drinks. I was hoping the other reviews were just being a little harsh, but they were pretty accurate. We got the Blue Matcha (very aesthetically pleasing, not so palate pleasing) and the cajeta latte (goat milk caramel latte). Neither tasted like much. The blue matcha, presumably blue because of spirulina powder, had just the slightest hint of matcha flavor. The cajeta just tasted like a plain latte with a tiny but of sweetness. Pretty disappointing. I can't speak for the food, but the pastries don't look stunning. It is nice that you can get some real food but it's a bit pricy. The interior is great though. Very spacious and well designed with lots of seating, and many windows seats with charging stations underneath the table. So it's a pretty great place to study/work - except that they don't actually have their own wifi. You just log into a nearby public (?) wifi. Also, most of the staff was maskless despite the fact that the mask mandate had not ended. read more

We stayed at a nearby hotel and wanted to try something new in the area. We noticed the "average" ratings posted online-because the photos of the food and menu looked good so we thought "sure, why not?" For $56, we got a dry and flavorless slice of zucchini bread, an-ok croissant, two avocado toasts with prosciutto and two coffee drinks. The bread on the toast was good and overall, up to par. We weren't huge fans of the drinks...but it might be because we don't have a sophisticated coffee pallet. The mexican chocolate mocha latte was really really bitter, and it felt like there was a spoonful of dirt in the drink and the matcha green latte kinda felt the same. With a bit of sweetener added, that helped make things better. Nice and clean inside and service was average. read more

We really wanted to like this place. We'll give credit where credit it due first. The ambiance it was a cute shop. Their decor is cute, nice wide open space and lots of lighting. Prime water front location. Outdoor seating was nice. Service was mediocre. The gal who checked us out at the front I don't know if she was extra tired (we went on a Sunday morning) but was pretty curt and just seemed annoyed with us. The two gals that saved it were the ones who brought out our food and helped us with an issue with one of our items (more on that below). Food-the baked goods were pretty good minus the burnt piece of zucchini bread we received that they did later trade us out for a less burnt one. I figure if you burnt the outside of the loaf that badly, I wouldn't want to serve that to customers. It was borderline black on the outside. We asked for another slice and they checked with the manager who sent another out but even then it was still pretty dark. The almond croissant was pretty good. The avocado toast was mediocre, pretty bland and barely any seasoning. The overnight oats looked a little too fancy and kind of dry. Tea/coffee- I had the masala chai iced. I asked for a medium size and it came in a pretty small cup with a lot of ice which was a bummer. A bunch of spices on the bottom. Like half an inch worth. The only bummer is that I usually like my chais with almond milk, but they premake it with oat milk. So that was a bummer. I tried my parents coffee, I don't know what kind of beans they used but my mom's latte tasted burnt. Like not even coffee tasting. It was pretty disappointing. Really sad because we wanted to like this place and when we've walked by it always is busy and the food looked so good. But we will not be back. read more

I don't know how this place has even a single good review - several people are correct, the food is extremely overpriced for what you're receiving and it's not good. Also, the girls who work here act like they're still insecure mean girls in high school who've never grown up and think they're working a nightclub instead of a coffee shop...the way they treat the customers - the snotty glances to each other when we ask if our order is ready, the laughing when we walk away from the counter. I tried giving this place a second chance after I felt uncomfortable the first time, and the second time I brought my family with me and my mom was still finishing her ice cream from Salt & Straw next door as it was raining outside and since she's older, I wanted her to be able to sit down and out of the rain, and even though we had also ordered food and drinks from here too, one of the girls came over to our table and snapped at us for having "outside" food, told us we either needed to throw it away or leave, and then proceeded to go back to the counter to laugh, stare at us and gossip about our table with her coworkers so loudly that we could all hear and see them. It was shocking. Management really needs to rethink their staff and hiring practices. These girls have no aspirations in life and think that working minimum wage at a coffee shop entitles them to project their insecurities and treat everyone horribly because of the way they really feel about themselves. Edit: these experiences were last year, so keep in mind that there's a chance new employees have replaced them that are more professional and kinder! I am hopeful for others' sakes! read more

This spot has become our little Sunday morning treat spot. The drinks and food are excellent and the space is really beautiful. We love sitting by the big windows that overlook the water. After getting brunch we head over to the Sunday market for a stroll. There is parking in the big public parking lots really close by. The prices are higher that your average spot but fit the whole experience and prime location. Staff are friendly and helpful. I really love all their seasonal specials, especially the iced strawberry matcha! And the chipotle aioli on the burrito is to die for. read more
