Figuring it was a miscommunication, we took our coffee to a table and my husband went back and when he asked for sugar the staff seemed utterly flummoxed. When sugar finally appeared, it was some syrup in a paper cup? When asked for something to stir the coffee with, the server looked to the other server for help, and she said "Just, I don't know, give him a straw!" Twilight....levels of weirdness.
