If you go to dinner anywhere in London - make sure you come here! This unassuming location on a side street of Belgravia is one of the best restaurants in london! Azim, our waiter, was incredibly informative and helpful in explaining the menu and suggesting different foods/wines/drinks for us to try. I even tried to get a few restaurant secrets from him, but he didn't spill. The Dawat tasting menu is everything and more. I was going back for seconds and thirds of the gujarati yellow pea chaat, the Karahi lamb masala, the chicken makhani, and the dal makhani. I should be rolled out for all the food I ate, and honestly I wanted to go back for more.

This was our last evening in London and the tail end of our three week UK travels. This restaurant was very near our hotel 11 Cadogan Gardens, and we thought this would be a good finale. Great choice! The place is under Chelsea housing and is rather unassuming from the street. A woman welcomed us at the door and sent us down a long staircase to the actual restaurant. It was not crowded when we arrived, so we were promptly seated. Our server explained the menu and suggested we each order something from three areas of the ala carte menu. His suggestions were superb. Our first course was scallops for my wife and squid and shrimp salad for me. Both were delicious. Next course was a broccoli dish for her and tandoori lamb chops for me. I have never had lamb so tender that I could cut it with a fork. Final course was a fish curry for my wife and a chicken curry dish our server recommended. Both outstanding. We paired the final course with butter naan and saffron rice. This was truly a gourmet Indian cuisine meal. Our server was very attentive and most helpful. We both left very happy after a really good final meal in London.

I'll be honest, we accidentally found this true gem. We rolled in with our two kids, slightly underdressed, for what seemed like a solid date night spot. Really good band playing just the right type of music for the ambiance. It was a very warm and cozy atmosphere with great service and amazing food. As stated above, next time I'm bringing my wife on a night out and staying the whole evening for a solid meal and great atmosphere. You need to try it out.

Amazing Indian food in a quiet London neighborhood. It was almost unsuspecting as you walk up to the outside, because it looks like you are pulling up to someone's house. Which i'am sure was the case at some point. But no expense was spared in transforming this space in an upscale dining experience. I was with coworkers in London exploring the city all day not dressed for the occasion, but we still received the same high level of service as anyone else in the restaurant. Great food, great service, great ambiance.

Beyond amazing. The food was prepared with so much detail to the flavor! I loved everything we ate and the Biryani was the BEST I've ever tasted in my life. Do NOT skip the dessert - it is worth it! I loved the quiet downstairs dining room for its peaceful and delicate decor. If you love scallops, DO NOT MISS the scallop appetizer. It's fantastic.

This is a dining experience. The food was amazing - we had the set menu with the wine pairing and every dish was delicious. Our server was so friendly and helpful as was the sommelier! The restaurant itself is beautiful. If you like Indian food this is a must try next time you find yourself in London.

Every single person who works at this restaurant loves food and appreciates the effort and talent required to generate a meal that wows. Every course in the tasting menu wowed. Each had the precise mix of spice and crunch that awed me. And the lamb chops were the best I've ever tasted. Bravo! Don't hold back! Do the tasting menu with wine pairings. You will not regret it. Not one little bit.

Six course tasting menu was very good - wine pairing was worth it. Nice craft cocktails. Very good service.

Absolutely delicious dinner!…read more We made reservations online about 2 months ago. 5:15 dinner worked well for us since we had a show at 7. We checked in on the lady with the tablet on the right side of the entrance. The left side is for walk ins. Super long line even at 5pm. But they were handing out small glasses of chai and something else. Anyway, the reservation line is short and they sat us right away. We wished we could have sat at the patio - it's covered. We didn't see that until we were already drinking. Well, next time! The ambiance - beautiful spot with lots and lots of tables. Every single one of them was taken. Tons of staff! They take good care of you here. Patrons vary, from dates to family dinners - the whole gamet! Come one, come all! The drinks came out right away. Dishoom IPA and chai. Beer came with a frosted glass. The chai was delicious! The food was amazing! Goan monkfish curry Ruby chicken Saffron cauliflower Garlic naan Basmati rice Everything was superb! Dishoom chicken tikka (14.9): NOT tikka masala! We were between this and the chicken ruby but were told it's just like butter chicken and were recommended this-- the highlight, chicken flavorful and tender, and I liked the pickled sides House black daal (11.7): their signature dish-- decent, pretty heavy and filling but nothing to sing about Roomali Roti (5.5): we were going to get the garlic naan, but the waiter said that's something you can get anywhere so we got the roti which he recommended-- however, this completely lacked flavor. I've had better roti in Malaysia and in the US lol Garlic naan (5.5): we ultimately got this because we didn't like the roti, but this also the garlic flavor was not shining through Other recommended dishes: chicken berry britannia with raita, charred lamb chops, murgh malai, okra fries Tip: you have to buy the rice, naan etc separately. Also heads up there's a 12.5% service charge.

Dishoom pays homage to the food of Bombay, and I was thrilled that they serve such a large and extensive breakfast menu! The restaurant is huge and beautiful - with lots of art deco touches! The service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The restaurant just had great vibes - even the smell of the place (incense mixing with their delicious food) was great. I had their Kejriwal (two fried eggs on chilli cheese toast - "a modern favourite of the Willingdon Club in Tardeo, reputedly named for the member who kept asking for the dish, since he was not allowed eggs at home"), which was delicious. My husband had their bacon & egg naan roll with a side of masala beans, which he loved (he's even been trying to recreate the beans at home since we got back from London). With a large menu of other options and tons of beverage options (from alcoholic brunch options to chai to iced coffee), they have everything you could want for a great breakfast. We had a great breakfast at this Kensington location of Dishoom. I'd happily return to one of their other locations and have any meal - breakfast, lunch, or dinner!
