    Mango lassi
    Ed D.

This place is packed! We had to wait in line for about 25 mins for dinner on a Monday night. Service is pretty good although the waiter only refilled our water when we asked and we were pretty thirsty, even though we each got a mango lassi or chocolate chai drink. We ordered the garlic naan, house chaat, murgh mulai, chicken ruby, chicken biryani. Everything was delicious but my favorite was the chaat and the murgh mulai since they were somewhat unique from other Indian restaurants I've been to in the US. It was pretty expensive and they charge an optional 12.5% service charge but they never gave me an option to take it away? Anyways coming from the US, I'm used to providing 20% tip so it was ok. Overall good experience and meal.

We had wonderful service here! Dishoom is a popular place but the dinner line for 3 on a weeknight wasn't too bad (they don't take reservations), I thought the line moved fairly fast and at some point they handed out small sample cups of chai to us which was nice. It's very spacious inside. Although their black bean dish Black House Daal is popular, I don't think it's something I'd reorder because I don't like beans that much in general. As a chicken tikka masala fan, I enjoyed their butter chicken the most. It's the closest thing they have to chicken tikka masala--which they don't have, they only have chicken tikka which is dry and quite spicy, has no creamy sauce. I also liked the okra fried, which is a type of fry I'm not used to seeing! It's got flavor, and I also loved the chutney and sauces on the table! I enjoyed a Dishoom Margarita which was strong in alcohol content and flavor, and a nice addition to the meal. They have an interesting drink menu, where you will find lots of nonalcoholic and rather healthy options! They have a small shelf in the middle of the room where they sell some of their chai and cookbooks amongst other things.

Walked in and got seated within 10 minutes, which was unexpected for a busy Friday. Wish we came with more people to order multiple dishes but was sufficient with four dishes. I enjoyed the Black Daal more than the Chicken Ruby - the creaminess paired well with the lentils. We had to order a side of rice, as we had thought it would come with our curries. We also had wished the naan portion was bigger but we still finished all our foods.

Was recommended to come here by a lot of people! Food: The food was so warm and tasted to fresh. The chicken ruby tasted so good with the rice and garlic nan! I loved the lentils with the nan! The sauces they gave were very lovely paired with everything. Service: Our waitress was very sweet and knowledgeable with the menu. We told her it is our first time and she broke down the menu items for us! Very sweet of her to do so. Overall: I would recommend this place to other people and possibly come back in the future when I revisit London! Food was pretty high quality and so were the people working there. The restaurant is pretty big and spacious too!

Some days this place would be jam packed, but other days I passed by, it seems chill. I recommend making reservations if you can. I came here on a weekday night and waited about one hour for a party of five. While waiting in line, they offered a cup of hot chai tea which was perfect for the cold weather. The chai is absolutely delicious. The Chicken Ruby, Okra Fries, and Masala Prawns were my favorite dishes. House Black Daal is their signature dish, which is good to try. The restaurant is dimly lit for an intimate family dinner, but a bit loud. The restrooms are clean. The staff is friendly. I only give them 4/5 because the curries are pretty comparable to places I've been to before, but if I have to recommend one dish and one drink - Okra Fries and Chai Tea.

Very busy restaurant, make sure to make a reservation. We ate here around 5:30 PM and it was fully packed. We were pretty full from eating all day as tourists so we just wanted to try the food. Okra fries were nice, chili chicken was good but I don't handle spices well to judge. Chefs special prawn Pathia was very good.

This restaurant was hyped up by a lot of my friends as a must try within London. So I caved and booked a table for my partner and I to try. First off, I strongly recommend booking a table because it's quite a happening place. The place is dimly lit and I found it perhaps to be to little lighting in some places. The service was excellent and everything came fast. We ordered the lamb biryani and chicken Ruby. They both tasted good and the aroma was beautiful. However there was barely any meat in our dishes to the point I had to go searching and even then I had perhaps three pieces of chicken. That was quite disappointing but I would try again in the future.

Many of our friends recommended we try Dishoom. We cancelled our fancy high end dinner and took a walk over , stood in line for about 20 mins in wet windy weather and when we made it in- Wow! Absolutely delish. The ambiance is warm and fun. The service was attentive & truly excellent from all staff (even as we waited outside in line) . We ordered house chaat, Chicken Ruby ( a good combo of butter chicken and tikki masala) , the chargrilled lamb chops, the prawn chefs selection, garlic naan, mango & fennel lassi & and ended with a mango bowl with ice cream. Geez! Each dish was just as delicious. We are obsessed.

Came here after the movies and the entire restaurant's ambiance was amazing! When everyone in the restaurant is happy, you know the food is good!!! We got the Garlic Naan, Murgh Malai, House Black Daal, and Chicken Ruby along with some Basmati Rice!! Absolutely delicious meal!

Our experience was overall pretty good. We enjoyed the appetizers the most - the prawns and okra fries. Unfortunately we did get a couple wrong dishes served to us that we had to send back but that wasn't an issue. Our server was super nice and considerate and was really helpful in choosing our meal and how we ordered. The food itself was good - but nothing completely out of this world. I've definitely had better back home in Boston, but it was a great experience nonetheless. Next time we go back we're definitely going to try out breakfast as we've heard great things!

The best food and vibes. We waited about an hour and a half without reservation, but it was worth it. The staff were great at every touchpoint, the cocktails were delish, and the food was great. They had most of the classics you'd expect, with a bit of a modern twist. Medium spicy, with excellent flavor. The biryani and fresh made naan/roti were amazing.

Oh. My. Gosh! I was recommended this restaurant and I cannot thank them enough. After walking around the rainy streets of London for 11 hours I wanted some amazing comfort food and this is exactly what we got. Much like other places in London walking in you have no idea how far this place actually stretches. The restaurant is HUGE. We were seated right away on a Friday night and worried it would take a while to get food. It took us longer to decide what to order than to receive our food. The service was quick and every single dish was phenomenal. We decided to start with the samosas served with the most delicious sauce. You only get 3 so 1-1/2 each it was, yum! For entree we decided to split the super popular chicken ruby, a side of rice and the garlic naan. There was definitely some spice to the chicken but amazingly delicious. Out of our 10 days travels through Paris and London this was our absolute favorite meal. We didn't have a refrigerator in our hotel but opted to take our leftovers anyway because it was too good to leave behind. I cannot recommend enough giving this place a try!

Wow- the crowd and lines do not lie. This restaurant was incredible!!!! While traveling thru London, we stumbled upon a lengthy line, thinking it was some sorta night club. Nope- it's Dishoom- this delish India restaurant. We came back the next morning for lunch and were really pleased.

I went for the bottomless chai , which is an absolute must and it was really good. They serve it in a glass , which to be honest feels a little bit convenient since it's piping hot. We got the chicken tikka masala with garlic naan (nothing to write home about here). We also got the Samosa chaat as an appetizer, which me and my sister both enjoyed. I also decided to get the chicken ruby curry, which seemed to be very popular across all the review platforms. It was.... OK. lol. Overall, none of the food here is bad. It's just I think this establishment gets so much hype for what it is. This location is particularly historic as it was built on a trade spot between Indians and the British; the place maintains most of the architecture from more than 100 years ago. Service here is pretty good too. We walked in on a Sunday afternoon and were able to get high table seatings.

For starters, we had the prawns and veggie samosas. Prawns were good and my family enjoyed the veggie samosas. Please not there are only 2 to an order. The black lentils were good but the full flavor wasn't there and it wasn't as creamy as I've had in the past. The best ones I've had were in Thailand, but this didn't even come close. For both the lentils and the biryani, we had to add salt to try to enhance the flavor. We decides to give dessert a try and it was just okay. Initially we planned on order the gulag jamun, but it came with Cornish (vanilla) ice cream and I wanted pistachio. They were very inflexible and would not swipe out the ice cream even though they physically have to put the vanilla scoops on top. Overall, we wouldn't be back here. Although the portion sizes are small to medium size, we felt that the 9 dishes we chose were satisfying for our party of 6. Everything we tried was delicious. Some of the stand out dishes were: tandoori paneer, chana, lamb biryani, spicy butter chicken and kurkuri bhindi.

The fried okra was amazing. It was like french fries but with okra. There's just a hint of spice very very crunchy and delicious. The rest of our meal came. I really should have asked about the spice level, but I did not. The menu didn't say my dish was spicy, but it was far too spicy for me. Since our wait staff did not come back to check on us there was not much I could do. However, I did flagged down another waiter and asked for some raita.
