The doors were already locked and an older blonde woman promptly waved through the door that they were closed. She came over to the door when we continued to stand there, and we pleaded to her to let us run in and buy a coffee mug. She told us no, and that they were closed. We told her the website said they were open until 7PM and she responded that it was "an old website," and "we close at 6" (It was still at least 3 minutes until 6PM). She rolled her eyes, huffed and puffed, and unlocked the door to let us in. As we were greatly thanking her, she sarcastically responded, "I would love to get home and I know my family would absolutely love for me to come home too." While we are greatly appreciative that she let us buy the coffee mug (We were in and out of the store within 45 seconds), we did not appreciate the unnecessary attitude. We will not be returning and if you plan to visit this store, ensure they are open beforehand, to avoid being disappointed and encountering rude employees.

I spoke with Carlyn about what I was looking for, we put a plan together and put a date on hold. She told me I did not need a permit from the town of East Hampton to have my wedding on the beach and put me in contact with a company that could provide the catering. She said she would email me the contract and a "mood board". I never received an email from her. After a week or so I contacted her again. She said she would send it that evening, again no email. I contacted again after another week or so, she said she was busy and in the process of moving and that is why she didn't send anything and would send the contract and the "mood board" that evening....nothing again. When I spoke to the catering company, they said that I absolutely will need a permit for the beach wedding and it could take weeks to get the approval. I contacted Carlyn again and explained I could not send invites out until I have a contract signed and we were a few weeks away from the wedding. I told her what the caterer said about the permit and she said she has nothing to do with it and she was just the decorator. Finally after more then three weeks she sent the contract and "mood board", but at that point, the weeding was two weeks out. Even if I sent electronic invitations, it was too late for guest to find accommodation. Luckily I was able to book at the most beautiful restaurant in Brooklyn last minute, The River Cafe. They were so professional, handled everything and saved the day!

Strawberry Fields was on the way, and my wife wanted one of those recycled-metal garden animals. SF had a good selection, and the counter lady was helpful. She also helped us pick a candle for my parents. It's a small shop, more how Montauk used to be, so I could see how those with Georgica Pond level expectations may come away disappointed. But for simple jobs, I bet SF would be fine?
