This place is a little hidden gem!! Very interesting but delicious dishes. All of them were good and not typical. I will never eat broccoli besides in fries again! A must get!! drinks, ambiance, and service were great! Quick too :) you should try this and get out of your comfort zone!

Our original Sunday brunch idea fell through so while wandering Canmore found this gem. Not busy 11am on a Sunday. Staff was super friendly, our waters and coffees were constantly topped up. Cool menu, but kind of pricey. My tiramisu waffles were delicious. Marscapone whip cream was not too sweet or overwhelming. Needed more caramel coffee syrup. Lots of fresh raspberries. Presentation looked amazing. Side of egg was worth it for the protein. Friends chilaquiles was awesome. Weird to have soggy nacho chips but apparently that's authentic. They were the perfect amount of soggy. Other friends Loved their eggs Benny and mushroom on toast. Bathroom was clean and nice. Overall everyone Loved their food. Definitely recommend brunch here and would love to come back.

The name of this restaurant deceived me I should have read and made my research first. It is not serving Filipino dishes like I thought the name suggest. We ordered the tuna caveche, porkbelly and korean chicken. They all tasted good but very small portion like fine dining. They are all very tasty but it just settled on our throats because the portion is so minute! The presentation is good. The tuna caveche tasted like Ilokano dinakdakan. Pork belly is good but again you would not feel full. Menu is also limited and we paid $93 for the 3 dishes with the french fries. Kinda pricey i think. Will check out other restaurants nearby and make my moneys worth!

Kain Tayo literally translates to Let's Eat! And to feed the hunger is what this amazing resto does! This resto has recently popped in the food scene in Canmore, and oh man their food is amazing! This resto really took some classic Filipino dishes like Lechon Kawali (Roast Pork), to the next level, and by that i mean pairing it with delicious fried rice and topped with quail eggs. Another dish that blew us away was the super delicious asian twist to chicken and waffles and that is, General TSO Chicken wings with waffles. These 2 dishes we had to order more cus we couldn't share it.. we all wanted our own plate cus it was soooo tasty! And last but not least, is the duck corn dogs! Oh my gawd those corn dogs. Yum! Needless to say, if you're feeling for a nice homey delicious asian cuisine, head on over to Kain Tayo. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Tara, Kain Tayo!

Decided to try Kain Tayo out as it has a diverse menu ranging from Asian, Filipino, Mexican and Canadian dishes. Very clean, friendly and helpful staff, nice background music, the ambience and decor is very relaxing and comfortable. Ordered the Ramen Noodle Salad as I was craving an Asian dish. Their Mexican Special sounded awesome but I will have to come back another time as there are several choices that I passed up and must try. Nice bar with good selection of alcohol. Pricing is moderate to high depending on the dish. The Ramen Salad is delicious. Definitely made the right choice. Certainly will come be coming back!!!

Amazing gem in Canmore, Alberta, Canada. I'd expect this quality in a big city, so happy to find it here. Everything we had was absolutely delicious and service was perfect! Wether a local or visitor, stop in for an elevated and inclusive dining experience ASAP!

Visited in off season. Tried a couple appetizers and we each ordered a large plate. I had the Thai "stew" (it's soup) and really enjoyed the flavours. My dining partners had the ramen salad and pork belly. Ramen salad was well liked, as was the pork belly but not the kimchi fried rice. Service was a little odd to be honest, but the food was enjoyable.

Crispy pork belly with fried rice. Tiny portion of pork and rice and rice had whole peppercorns embedded throughout.

There's only one way to describe this restaurant: lipstick on a pig. They make some attempt to arrange the food "aesthetically" but the taste is mediocre to subpar with ingredients that make no sense (for example the fried rice contained whole peppercorns throughout. Not sure why anyone would want to inevitably chew on whole peppercorns). The crispy pork belly had 5 tiny pieces of pork belly, maybe a 2 oz portion max? Please observe the "empty space" on this plate because that was real. These were labeled as main dishes btw. The cod was bland and the noodles that came with the cod were completely uninspiring. The brussel sprouts were just weirdly flavored with some variation of BBQ sauce. I cook better Brussels in the oven at home. All of the dishes are $30+ for tiny portions like they're pretending to be some high end restaurant, except the ambience, food, and service were all at a level of a place at half that price at best. They're lucky there's no PF Chang's in town because this place is just a rip off.

Our group was located in an annex room right of the main entrance and was the perfect size to fit all of us. We had 2 primary servers who did an excellent job of making sure we had full glasses and full plates. We did family-style sharing of some of their starters and main dishes. The Bread and Butter was really delicious and it looks like their butter flavor is on rotation daily. The duck wings had a peach glaze and nuoc cham and cilantro- great combination. The chicken vegetable dumplings had great skin and texture. The peppercorn salad was adorned with pickled cabbage, capers, maple coconut, crunchy chickpeas and more - it was amazing. We also tried the Thai basil risotto and it was good but I'd go with the peppercorn salad over this if you're sticking vegetarian. The final dish was Alberta AAA Beef Brisket accompanied by gochujang mashed potatoes and broccolini. The brisket was incredible and just melted on the tongue. And the beer/spirits here were impressive as well. BLAKE is a must-try destination while in Canmore!

Everything is executed incredibly well: flavorful food, nice plating, great ambiance, and good service. I had the poutine (the best I've had), the pulled pork burger, the steak, plus the tiramisu, cheesecake, and crème brûlée. Everything was spectacular. My only suggestion? Add dumplings to the menu, because I know you'd do them exceptionally well. Every time I was here, it felt like the place to be. Don't waste your time anywhere else.

This was hands down, my favorite meal of my trip. The staff was welcoming off the bat. We had a large party but was seated relatively quick. We started off our meal with the Chef's Signature Mussels and Pulled Pork Poutine. I liked the gravy in the poutine. The mussels were bathed in a sauce. Do dip your bread in it and go wild! My son normally doesn't like seafood but he couldn't stop eating the mussels. They have weekly specials on their website. Definitely check it out before you make a visit over! We went on Thursday and it was pasta night specials for $20. We tried the Clam Linguine, Carbonara, and Linguini Bolognese. The Clam Linguine was the lightest of the pastas. There was a good amount of clams. The Carbonara was extremely rich and probably the least favorite of the three. I thoroughly enjoyed the Linguini Bolognese. The pasta was cooked al dente and the flavors were so deep and comforting. The Braised Alberta Pork Ribs in a Root Beer Glaze was tasty too. You can really taste the root beer flavor so if that's not your thing, you should skip this dish. My son kept raving about this meal for the rest of our trip! I can't wait to come back to see more of Canada and of course to have another delicious meal here.

We started with two small plates and a vegetable: Salmon Crudo, Pickled Marinated Fried Chicken and the Cabbage. Wow. Wow. Wow. We decided to eat each one entirely before moving to the next one. Each one had such unique flavors, we wanted to focus on them and enjoy without confusing our taste buds. I highly recommend doing this! Then we ordered the Lamb dish. Our menu said it was going to be a curry dish, but when it arrived it was a Mediterranean dish. It was honestly dreamy! But we were confused because I guess we had a copy of the old menu. Nonetheless, I basically licked the plate! Lastly we ordered the chocolate salted caramel budino (pudding) for dessert. It was so luscious and went perfectly with our end of dinner hot drinks of tea and cappuccino. The serviced matched the food: also fantastic. Super professional and friendly waitress (I forgot to ask her name) she was so personal and we enjoyed talking to her. They comp'd our lamb because of the menu mixup which was so nice! We eat a lot of Chinese food coming from NYC and NJ area. And honestly thought most of the items we had were pretty good. We had the pre-set menu for 6 people. And holy, the portion they gave us can feed at least 10! The flavor was still more westernized to my liking but nonetheless good. I wasn't a fan of thier fried chicken ball which tasted a bit odd. It was a piece of chicken that tasted bland that was coated in a thick layer of starch then deep fried. Not good. What was really good was the chicken fried rice, the beef noodles and the beef with vegetables. Way better than some of the Chinese take out places I'm used to in USA. The spring rolls and the fried shrimps were decent too but could use better dipping sauce on the side. The service was very friendly! The two waitresses were just lovely! I was seated where I am facing towards the kitchen. From there, I could see what the waitress is doing. So, as soon as we enter the restaurant, I already noticed the waitress wearing gloves (blue latex kind). I could tell that she has been wearing it for a while. (I work in the healthcare field and see people don gloves on a daily basis). The waitress is busy, since she was by herself, going from table to table, from kitchen to tables, serving them food, giving them plates, silverware, napkins, getting their payments, touching everything from door handles to pitchers to fill glasses with water, to cleaning the tables with rags - all while wearing the same pair of gloves. That is a serious infection control issue, especially because she is touching the plates containing the food which the customers eat. I hope she will practice glove and hand hygiene, since a lot of people come here.
